No. It was bad idea at start, and it proved that it was so admins changed it back. Pls stop all that ooRP ID. Or I just will get myself Civilian GB with Zoner IFF and any pirate ID and will prove you again how much its a bad idea.
Personally, I sort of liked the idea of ID's being oorp, but new players never even considered it as such. So you had half the population acting as if ID's were not to be acknowledged, and the other half lolwutting every IFF/ID mismatch as it it were a mistake, when in many cases the combo was intentional.
I fought hard to have it reversed (in the form of whining of course) but only because it was evident that many players, especially the newbs, were not aware that they were to be oorp only. You'd attack someone using a pirate or junker ID, with a freelancer IFF, and the encounter would just breakdown into a he said she said over what ID you were supposed to have, and etc. everyone playing at least a year has had the same problem eventually.
Basically it sucked to have to interrupt RP every time to explain the rule to new players, who scan your ship and see your ID and didn't try to hide it, since they didn't know they had to.
Although I always thought that if they put a consol message up periodically like that of the basic rules, it would have eventually sorted itself out. No such development came, and it became easier to let them back inrp and work around it that way.
Now that it is back to inrp, i sort of wish we could go back, but i'm sure i'd hit a snag shortly after that would have me pulling my hair out, and changing my mind again.
I would like to see some way of SRP'ing a 'hidden' ID. If you succeed, your ID could just show the same picture as a sanction notice and say 'classified' or etc. It would require a public registry/thread like normal SRP's granted, else you'd have to file every time you saw someone with that set up just to make sure they're not breaking the rules.
