:crazy:Seemingly I got the whole idea of Discovery Freelancer Role-Playing complete wrong; Poor me! :(
Blasted for not stopping I didnt see any message appear, but seeing the other ship and reading the players tags Police I slowed to stop allowing them to scan my ship then just came to a halt Bam! I get blasted great hauling H-fuel is now a crime, or was it I was flying the wrong design of ship? No wait could have been my new hair cut!
:rolleyes:Sorry for been a moaning old git, but Role-playing really isn't any fun if some people just use as an excuse to intimidate / Bully fellow players [ I exclude people who RP as pirates in that last statement as they should be intimidate / Bully other players ]
I have to admit the rules on the 'Discovery' RP server to protect new players is a really good idea, and real shame that so many other well know online RP games dont introduce similar rulings and limitations. :rtfm:
Seems you've been a bit unlucky with this, and perhaps you should have been asked to drop the goods before you got blown up. I know there is an event going on at the moment regarding this, but I'm not to sur of the details.

No event as yet, that still needs to be sorted out, you'll know when something is up as we'll ahve one of the Liberty based traders make an official press anouncement in the CNS forum, however this looks like a simple case of "ooh a target". Report it. It's very poor RP.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
I had just entered the New London system. I was (and still am) underlevel (albeit carrying a Bowex tag and trader ID) and trade laning when the lane was cut. The system comm was quite lively at that time and there were generic HALT, STOP cries in the ether. No specific addressing of anyone. I saw there were two corsair tagged guys behind the trade lane jacking. I was flying straight at them and then halted just in case they meant me. I was about to scan their credentials and WHAMMO! One salvo and I was sucking vacuum. And the kill message did not reveal the looser behind this. I felt like a kid in a soccer game when a ball meets the balls head-on. Otherwise I would have PMed the guy and asked what the...?
I was so shaken up that I actually broke the 4h rule and entered the system again.
The moral of the story is that next time I keep my distance and fraps on.
I think I have the idea who were those guys..
I was flying in Starblazer to get my Rheinland Pirate Cruiser
Charybda.. I was at freeport 4 when one of these guys just followed me for 2K
then boom and shields were down and about 40% of hull remaining..
He said 'sorry wrong target lol'..
No 'halt' or something like that..
This, and other events, highlights the need for the original deathmessages to return. I must admit, I have been tempted to impulsively kill little buggers since the messages are down. Why does breaking rules tempt one so? Anyhoo, I pray to the Void they will be reinstated soon.

Be sure to get their names. They were independents? This most certainly is NOT how OPG Corsairs operate.
I always make at least 2 challenges, being clear on who my intentions are aimed at, only opening fire either to get their attention if I get no response or to stop them if they attempt to run.

Yeah. The one I vaguely remember was a plain name. No prefixes or suffices. I was about to scan them to see if their IDs were corsairs, but did not make it that far.
