Quote:Lol, if naval people would think this way, there would be heavy problems with national security. A cruiser doesn't hurt anyone if is under trustworthy control, which from the viewpoint of the Navy means under the control of a Naval officer. A retired one doesn't belong to this category.
This actually is going to be a separate story, because it is quite difficult to explain briefly. In general, Lionel retired the Navy because of his grief after hearing the news about Bolshack's 'death'. He already has proven himself as the captain of the cruiser, so he was trusted. Also, most of the crew consisted of the Navy. If he would attempt causing problems in Liberty, this would trigger a civil war on the deck.
Quote:Also, I'm interested in seeing your view on this mutliple-ID thing too, you seemingly evaded answering that query of Spazzy.
My view is exactly the same as in the first post, The Navy ID is temporary, until the ship will have enough of a history to submit a request for Spec Ops ID.
You should untag it for the time being then. Just to stay within faction rules.

When a faction is created, the leader must select an ID and a corresponding IFF for use on every ship within the faction, based on the group's primary role and identity. Factions must also choose one unified tag for their ships upon requesting official status.
Well, what I thought is that it's only necessary if a faction tries to go official, they need to have the unified IDs and IFFs. We aren't, not yet anyway.
It's good to know that the community is really banding together to rule-lawyer these guys into removing the \V/ tag on the front of their carrier. Just knowing that they were in contravention of an arbitrary rule buried deep within the forums was causing me great anguish every waking hour of every day, and I couldn't help but feel my roleplay being disrupted by the sheer force of this terrible, terrible crime.
Had some nice escorting trip with the Vigilante who took us right through the LIberty dangerzone to Cayman. Solid rp in group, was good fun! Keep it up!
Quote:You know, if they are going for SRP while breaking rules... It might be problematic to actually secure that SRP.
Snak3, you're seriously trashing about something completely minor. As if the Navy IDs and Police IDs were SO MUCH DIFFERENT from each other, and this would make such a BIG DIFFERENCE on the roleplay and/or anything else.
