Alright, this thread is not meant to be an endless discussion, but a clarification of this. Many players use 3rd party software, like skype for instance, that can give you a huge advantage over other players that don't. With the introduction of an active Teamspeak server, the advantage becomes even bigger.
When it comes to autohotkey, a lot of jumpers use it to handle jump coordinates - that gives them a comparative advantage over other jumpers that don't use it in terms of credits pr. minute. Some people also use autohotkey to enable keys to have two functions, making turretsteer easier to operate.
Or... people breaking the 60 FPS limit by use of either a driver suite (Nvidia) or additional tools (AMD), reducing input lag and in many cases causing jitter on other peoples' screens, making you very hard to hit.
Now, the admin take on the specific case is this:
ADMIN Wrote:He gained the advantage of using a command in a speed a normal player without the use of a different type of program would not have. The outcome of the situation is not important, the intention of using the macro to gain an advantage however, is.
But would anyone utilize any of the tools in the examples above if not to gain an advantage?
So where is the line officially drawn?
I think that question deserves an answer when staff deletes 2 billion worth of equipment from a guy who - in my book, as a person shooting at him - didn't do anything worse than what jump traders and turretsteerers do all the time.
Disclaimer: I'd better be clear on the fact that I would prefer if all the tools in the examples were thrown out - including skype - so I might be biased.
Admins gave us tools to overcome game bugs, now we get sanctioned by using them. Why the heck haven't them limited input of stuck cmd from an user id ? 1 stuck / sec maybe ? We wouldn't be here with a ship of 2b deleted by a newly promoted admin (I miss Fellow Hoodlum, very harsh sanctions ... but fair!)
Jump coords are around +50 chars long, they expect that anyone to write it down manually ? They expect that someone blocked with an asteroid inside his ship ... not using /stuck command ?
Admins forced the entire community to look for ways to put that coords code in chat for example, then ... modified the rules so it could be sanctionable.
Half of the sanctions are given due to unfinished features of the mod or wrongly coded ones. Yes, he used macro but they MUST realise that manual using /stuck command wouldn't help him to get out of that situation (having an entire badlands asteroid at the middle of his ship right after he jumped from TX) ... that being said, I quote:

A while back, Cannon laid down the law about using macros. That stance never changed and the admins of today are keeping up with his ruling. Regardless of what the macro was used for, if they had let this go then it opens the door to a whole list of problems. Skype and Teamspeak only give you better knowledge and a means of better communication, which they cannot limit or ban because all they do is give you better insight. A macro, on the other hand, directly influences your ship in game and can make you do things in a fraction of the time it would take others, leading to an unfair advantage.

Yes
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

By this logic, it also flew through
A: Texas's Scrap field's
B: California's Ice field's or Came in via hostile Rheinland
C: Flew into hostile space (LR don't like Outcast caps remember?)
D: Flew into even more Hostile naval space
E: Tried to fly through the Badlands rather then going up and over and instead flew into the middle of a fight zone
Which mind you it did
Also, 2 billion?
A Ransur with CAU 8 and a BS scanner are close to 1.6 billion actually, unless it had a battleship cloak in which case it could of not been seen in the first place
Then ya, it could of cloaked while in the badland's which would be 10x smarter because the TX JH exits near a LR base (12k distance) and if the LR saw you, they'd also shoot it.
Edit: Also if this attempt to remove the macro-rule, it won't happen, and questioning something that's existed longer then I have on the server is pointless

No, quite the contrary.
I know jumpers use macros, and it seemed like it was considered 'ok', hence my question where the line is drawn. The same with autohotkey for turret steering. And breaking framerate, for which you need 3rd party software - that one is included in the rules framework though, by a randomly assigned number of frames. I've also seen a lot of people with a stuck macro and never thought of it as a cheat.

I understand this yes but from the point of view of those in the fight, a CAU 8 hostile Outcast Dread was in the middle of a fight zone using a stuck macro.
As I stated above, if the person would have avoided the fight zone, all would be fine, because one does not simply fly into a fighting zone and then start spamming a stuck macro
Though yes, I understand what you mean, I used to use one to get cords for a jump ship I had in the past.
