To: William Hawthorne, Secretary of State for Trade and Economics
Dear Mr. Hawthorne,
I am contacting you on behalf of Ageira Innovations to notify the government and request for a small change in Liberty Laws regarding transportation of Jump Gate and Trade Lane Parts. Since our corporation has been founded, we invested half of our earnings into research, the other half into top of the line armor upgrades for our Liberty Heavy Transports. At the present day, we can proudly claim that we have one of the most secure shipping department. This allows us to transport our cargo with high success rate and with little to no fear of losing it to criminals around Sirius. Not that our whiteboxes can be without unauthorisation, but securing them is one of the precautionary methods for keeping our technology safe from reverse engineering.
For almost year of our existance and operations, we have observed too many unarmored transport ships to feel comfortable with allowing our whiteboxes to be transported by anyone outside The Big Three. From the past president of Ageira Technologies, such permission was given to Borderworld Exports and Interspace Commerce primary branches. However, neither of them prioritises security over cargo bay volume. And neither of those corporations are rarely even visiting Liberty anymore.
Therefore, I was authorised to request permission for these corporations to be removed for the following reasons - failure to operate within Liberty house and failure to secure their transports.
We are looking forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely,
Anthony Hall,
Director of Jump Gate and Trade Lane Network Department.
I attach shortened version of confidential report from maintenance mission regarding Hamburg jump gates in Bering and Hudson and extend secure access to full version stored in Pueblo Database. The report is of utmost importance for the safety of Republic of Liberty.
Yours sincerely,
Sebastian Hart,
Acting Chief Executive Officer,
Ageira Innovations
As you are already aware, Liberty has begun planning the assembly of a joint task force of sorts, initially to secure the site and support research into the Hudson Crisis. Should our fears prove true, the group will mobilize to gather all available resources for the research, development, and deployment of countermeasures. Finally, should the countermeasures still result in damage to population centers, the force will direct aid and relocation efforts as necessary.
We are not looking to jump the gun, so we believe this approach is nuanced enough to achieve our goals efficiently, while also avoiding mass panic in the public and ensuring we still maintain adequate defenses elsewhere. The latter is particularly important with ongoing aggression from Gallia and Rheinland's somewhat chilly response thus far. However, we are not without contingencies on our end should Rheinland ultimately prove uncooperative.
Now, it goes without saying that you possess at your disposal the leading researchers in their relevant fields. Because of this, we want appoint you and selected representatives as a Brain Trust, so to speak. You will be consulting the task force, as well as invested with the capacity to coordinate vital efforts. We hope you find these arrangements acceptable and anticipate your response.
To: Robert McKay, Secretary of State for Defense, Liberty Government
Dear Mr McKay,
Ever since the initial survey our Research and Development department at Pueblo Station is working on a solution to the Hudson anomaly. We believe that construction of two Gate Maintenance Sites hosting powerful gravity stabilizers on each side of the gate will allow us to slowly siphon the excess energy building up within the wormhole and thus eventually disperse the anomaly. Unless there is a different scientifically backed proposal, it is natural that both Ageira Innovations and Deep Space Engineering will actively participate in this undertaking.
Yours sincerely,
Sebastian Hart,
Acting Chief Executive Officer,
Ageira Innovations
I am pleased to announce that tonight Ageira has finally completed the reconstruction of Hudson-Hamburg Jump Gates. The testing took place and all readings showed good signs. We believe that the crisis is averted, however continuous examinations and investigations will be carried out to constantly observe and assert the situation. We will be contacting Rheinland government in order to inquire about their Battleships, which would hopefully can be moved out of Hudson. We thank you for your patience in this matter of utmost importance. Ageira Innovations will resume our normal operations throughout Sirius.
Sincerely,
John White,
Chief Executive Officer,
Ageira Innovations
We would like to request one change in law and one addendum.
Firstly, we have separated our products on manifests into Docking Rings, Jump Gate and Trade Lane Parts. This has already caused a problem with Rheinland as they refused to add these parts to our allowance list. We understand that upholding law requires to abide to the letter of the law and not the spirit of the law, therefore it is absolutely important to prevent Ageira's technology to be subject of law loopholes that would potentially allow unauthorized vessels to carry our commodities. Our attorneys have drafted the following change for Section One, Article I:
Docking Ring Parts, Jump Gate and Trade Lane Parts can only by transported by Ageira Technologies, Deep Space Engineering and Universal Shipping vessels. Ageira Technologies are authorized to confiscate these commodities on the spot.
Secondly, there has been some disturbing extortion attempt from Junker Congress member trying to obtain credits in exchange for what he claims to be salvaged parts. This is unacceptable and while under current laws it might be a stretch to label it as corporate espionage, the following change to Section One, Article IV, "Corporate espionage" paragraph can protect Liberty's corporations from malicious conduct:
This includes possessing, salvaging, purchasing, distributing or trying to reverse-engineer Liberty corporations' proprietary research, technology or products, including but not limited to Ageira's Docking Ring Parts, Jump Gate and Trade Lane Parts.
We hope that the drafts are satisfactory and can be implemented as soon as possible. We believe these changes would prevent any further misunderstanding from benevolent intentions as well as malicious behavior aimed to loophole Liberty laws.
Sincerely,
John White,
Chief Executive Officer,
Ageira Innovations
