I see others here have had similar issues as I. I load my character it states in a dialogue box that the process is taking longer than expected, loads my character i see a glimpse of the landing bay as it were then crash to desk top and freelancer.exe has stopped working message appears. I can repeat the process and it will eventually let me play without issue but it may take four or five attempt to get there.
Pre ver 4.88 no issues
I have installed a fresh install of freelancer and re installed the 4.88 mod and still the issue remains. Antivirus etc disabled still not functioning.
I run a on a Windows 7 pro platform with a high spec PC so there are no hardware or software limitations.

Seems to have happened at some point yesterday, as it was fairly normal earlier in the day while being completely unmineable later in the evening.
Counted barrels just now and got 239 out of 50 on a quad mining turret Golem....little more than a field that's been completely turned off. This is not a viable mining location with those drops.

I was extremely relieved to have found this fixed, with drops back to their regular 30-50 early today.
However, as the day wore on, a feeling of dread rose within me.
A nightmare from days long past was stirring, though I tried to ignore it at first.
But now, in the early morning hours, long after I should have gone to bed, I had to face the terrifying reality: the field wasn't fixed at all - FIELD DRAIN IS BACK!
Cannot find any other explanation for why the drops were so good to begin with and so godawful at the end.
From around 30-50 to around 6 within one day.
Please tell me I'm imagining this. Please tell me this is a mistake. Please tell me that godawful feature is never coming back.
I'm about to buy a "Condor" civilian gunboat on Planet Houston on the WarZone server and I discovered the following problems (which I presume are due to the mod, not the server):
1) the gunboat comes without any weapons (which doesn't surprise me), but Planet Houston doesn't sell any gunboat weapons, so I have to run to Norfolk Shipyard flying a defenseless gunboat! Shouldn't a base that sells a ship offer weapons for that ship?
2) the gunboat comes with a molecular shield, but the Planet Houston equipment dealer doesn't sell any gunboat shields, so if I want a graviton or positron shield, I have to buy the molecular shield first, then replace it somewhere else. Shouldn't a base that sells a ship offer shields for that ship?

I found another bug on another server -- Caernarfon Station in the Poole System on the Latin American server is a Gateway base, but it sells the Liberty transport turret instead of the Bretonia transport turret.

I can't buy gunboat missiles or CD missiles for my gunboat on the WarZone server, but I had no problem buying CD missiles for one of my characters on the Latin American server. I wonder if someone on the WarZone server broke something or someone on the Latin American server fixed whatever is broken on the WarZone server.

ad1 Yes, this also goes for buying it in Stuttgart and Cambridge, you need to go to the closest shipyard, Freelancer bases (such as Barrier Gate in Coronado or Yanagi 2.0 - always forgetting the name - in Sigma-13, or to the Battleship Nagasaki (Kusari Exiles) in Tau-29. Solution for not being pirated/attacked is to get Rercruit ID for setting up character.
Its Weapon Slots all come up as Light Fighter Guns (Class 6)
I have tried to buy the Light Mining Array (Class 1) which specifies that it is designed for Fighter Class Ships. But it says that I have no hardpoints for this weapon.
Am I missing something or was this overlooked?

I'd like to mention 2 things that caught my attention, though I am not 100% sure they are bugs or not, as I only recently joined from another server..
1.) The "Tournez" GMS Light Miner does NOT hava a hardpoint to mount any mining array, so it is no longer a viable mining ship. Is this intentional?
2.) The Fields for Alien Organisms in Baffin do not work - neither with GMG (Garanchou, light mining array, GMG ID/IFF) nor Zoner.

You need to use the Class 6 "Small Mineral Extractor" on the Tournez. It should work for sure as I just checked my own ship.
The problem is that you cannot buy the Class 6 mineral extractor anywhere in Gallia. (A bug reported months ago in the 4.87 threads and still listed in the old "Known Issues" thread.)
Closest location is Planet Tomioka, Nagano.
I still have a ship with a stash of Class 6 mineral extractors. PM me if you want a few.
