Ok, I haven't done any number crunching and someone into that sort of stuff can do it, but to me it seems like the Stellion Council VHF could use a buff.
Its main opponent, the Lynx, is an awesome ship. It does everything well, and there's a nice choice of guns as well for two distinctly different styles of play, making it the ultimate pvp-whore ship. Gallia is at war with everything, and their tech is supposed to in-rp be amazing so it's fair. However, the Stellion doesn't really have that air of Gallia tech at all, from flying it a few days I'd pick most of the other VHFs pitted against Gallia (Rapier, Nyx, Guardian, etc.) over it.
Maybe a buff would not only be fair in terms of PVP-balance, it could also attract players to otherwise neglected factions? I know I'd love to fly a really competitive VHF on a Maquis ID and pew all over the Taus, others would probably love to play the rebel Council if they had a very good VHF to do it in.
Opinions? Numbers that might prove me wrong? I've only the flown the ship for a few days, so I am basing this purely on my own personal experience, nothing more.
I never liked the Stellion, myself. Something about it just never felt right - I couldn't really put my finger on why I was always doing so badly in it.
When you compare it to the Nyx (given that CR and Council fill almost the exact same gameplay niche, I feel this is a valid comparison), it's thoroughly outclassed. Hell, I'd put the Nyx on par with or slightly above the Lynx, which itself already soundly trounces the Stellion.
First they asked for VHF. Now they ask for it to be buffed.
It's quite good already. Ganking Stellions was hard enough during the first Friday BAG/GRN event, which proves them as nicely-shaped ones.
Councils are to be flying scrap mostly, keep that in mind and cherish what you've got.
Lynx isn't that OP also, stop praying on it already.
Stellion is ok as it is IMO, it has a favorable shape. Though I prefer Agama.
Also, you have to remember that Council has guns that sync perfectly with their shieldbusters, unlike GRN that only has the civilian technology that is synchronized.
