Our company is contacting you today, because I believe you may be sympathetic to our woes and our dreams. As a world built upon ancient rice farming techniques, faced by a galaxy of modern synthetic food production... we want to be able to stand again upon our own two feet... not relying on the Kusari government to ban synth paste, and subsidise our rice production, but to compete successfully on a fair market as our ancestors did!

So, to business. I hope you now understand why we come to you, the Zoners of Freeport 2, one of the busiest crossroads of Sirius and a beacon of independence. What we ask is a mere trifle, yet to the people of Kyushu it could be a step back on the road to self sufficiency and prosperity on our own terms... I would like to request space to place a few posters on your station, merely promoting travel to Planet Kyushu to the passengers that pass through.

In return I would like to offer regular deliveries of our delicious Kyushu rice, if that would be desirable. I am sure your citizens and visitors would both enjoy the benefits of a more varied diet!

However, if you are more inclined towards wealth than comfort, I am sure we can come to some sort of... financial arrangement.

I hope you look favourably upon my request and that we can come to an agreement that will be mutually satisfactory for the peoples of Kyushu and Bering!

Hello there, Mr. Makabe. Glad to make your acquaintance.

My name is Tony Doria. I run a cargo company based at Freeport 2, called Bering Shipping Inc., and was chosen last year by the Confederation of Freeports to be the base administrator.

Well, you proposal is very good. Space for your posters is no problem. You are proposing to bring here the thing what we need most: bussiness. Since the war started and the jump gates were disabled, ship traffic here has suffered greately. The whole idea of creating BSI was to mantain this station, that was practicaly abandoned a couple years ago.

Being isolated we have biodomes, of course. But they are mostly used to recicle air and water, and our actual food production is not that high. It's sufficient to sustain the station, but variety is always welcome. Your rice will be well received by the inhabitants, for sure. Our bar even has the Kyushu Rice as option on our menu, usually I go to Kyushu myself to bring the cargo here. If you want to supply us with your product, you are more than welcome. You will bring not only your rice here, but also more customers that are not willing to go all the way to Kusari to get the stuff.

We can even go a little further than posters. Since we are way under our capacity here, I can even offer you a room for you to install a small office for your company, to manage the cargo and passenger runs. The fee is very low, and I am willing to forget about it if this bussiness proposition of yours turns out to be lucrative, as I imagine it will.

So, what do you say, Mr. Makabe? Sounds good? Oh, also, you can bring a small load of sake, perhaps, together with the rice? The beverage is very appreciated here too.

Likewise, it is a pleasure to meet you!

I am most pleased you see merit in our proposal, and I hope that our arrangement can be as mutually profitable as you do!

Your offer of office space on the station is more than welcome, and I will see to it that we send one of our best people over to work with you on the Freeport. I would suggest a manager of one of our "Golden Fox Rice House" restaurants, as they will be able to advise you in serving Kusari cuisine in its truest and most traditional form, however if you feel that expertise in another area would be more useful please let me know and I will see what can be arranged.

Regarding deliveries of Kyushu rice, if you can give me an idea of your weekly or monthly requirements, I am sure we can come to an arrangement there... and of course a good meal is not complete without a good drink, so please let me know exactly how much of a taste your residents have for a drop of sake!

In the meantime I will send you a copy of the proposed poster design to be put up at the Freeport, I hope you approve, and if you would like your company's logo added to the design, please let me know... I am sure it cannot hurt for people to remember their gracious hosts in Bering when boarding a liner to Kyushu!

I am currently taking a vacation, which is why I am contacting you from the Luxury Liner Hawaii, rather than my usual office on Kyushu... but of course even on holiday it is impossible to escape from matters of business these days!

I apologise for the delay in officially beginning our arrangement, but we have been experiencing trouble obtaining contracts with Liner captains to ferry passengers from your Freeport to Planet Kyushu... it seems the tourism business is suffering on a Sirius-wide scale at present! Anyway, we are working on this and hope to have a solution in place shortly.

In the meantime, you should find that two shipments of rice and sake have found their way into your supplies in the last few days, one of which I have confirmed in the attached document, you should expect a reply from the Suzemebachi san, captain of the other transport soon!

Greetings, gentlemen.

I'm glad to see our arrangement is working fine. I'm sorry for the delayed reponse, but I was away in the Omicrons, doing some deliveries. But I was greeted with some fine warm sake at the bar when I arrived. The docking master told me some new ships have appeared this last week, bringing rice and sake, and some leave taking passengers. Good to see our arrangement is working well.

As for the quantities, the demands on the station are slowly rising, consequence of the increase on traffic, so for now you guys can keep sending more cargo. What is not consumed by our bar is being exported to other freeports. And the ratio between rice and sake is also satisfactory.

Also, I received the file with your poster. I like it, the style really has some kusari look, don't know exactly why I have this impression but there it is. You hired some good designer, I can see. Can I make a small request, then? As Mr. Makabe offered, I would like to include the BSI logo on that poster. You will find the file attached at the end of this transmition.
