EVE is interesting to play on its own, when Disco is a sandbox of open RP opportunities, where everything is less or more available to player with minimal (compared to EVE) effort. It is just how it should work for a community with such a low population and the game that is, let's be honest, boring on its own.
Edit: so the only way to get extra fun is to push up RP (this is all we have) to new levels. In what way?
The advantage that EVE has is that all its game mechanics can technically exist in-character. Even if a player does not actively role-play (like we do here on Disco), their actions are inherently compatible with the game's narrative setting. However, the downside of this is that it discourages high-level roleplay (eg. adopting the character's voice) because of the casual approach by most players.
For me I also go easy on players that just start the game. Their roleplay story they write up sometimes is small and that indicates to me they need to learn to rp.
But of they look promising in other aspect then why not give them a go. That's how I see it.
But like if a older player were to write a crap story while I look at his history to see he writes well then its an easy reject. Why? Because he/she does not look that interested .
