Voice Log #15
Day 24, 2200
Location: Outside Mora Station
*It seems James has finally figured out how to quickly start and end his voice logs...*
I've received reports on other cases of Azurite, and quite frankly, it scares me. I hope the Order pays due respect to the care I've taken in the containment of this single sample. I have moved my stockpile too close to Order facilities, and need to move those as soon as possible. Azurite assimilation is becoming beyond the capabilities of my containment unit and will, within a few short weeks, fully overpower my vessel... Power augmentation is the only option to inhibiting it further, and conventional means have been exhausted. I require a power core and an artifact of Nomad origin for this purpose... However, the only artifacts would lay deep in Nomad space... If they even exist. Reports say that Azurite responds like a beacon, but my reports indicate that is only partially true. As it's energy levels may be the tracking point, the power stored in Azurite may be a co-builder for hyperspace technology. I need at least a power core capable of sustaining the Azurite to inhibit further assimilation... I need to contact Overwatch on the matter, concerning my case, and their preferences and limitations. I can upgrade my containment unit, but that would cost both the Order and myself a great deal. I'll consult Lennox personally on this matter. I'll also be meeting any other science division members in order to find a plan for the coming trials. I'm hoping it goes smoothly...

I flew and spoke with the Order operatives for a decent amount of time, and revealed my goals of discovering the origins of these new warps. Lennox expressed his concerns with my ship's inevitable disability, and to combat this I unveiled my need for a Nomad power cell. The fear of what the Azurite would do under the optimal circumstances is unknown, but there have been similar cases before it. My plan is to make a hyperspace point for the Nomads, that I can use a black hole singularity to travel the Nomad's hypergate route. This would only be possible using the mass that the Azurite has been growing, along with the incredible mass of the power cell. I would need to expel the energies stored in the Azurite at the perfect moment of arrival of the Nomad warp, to quickly ride the shadow of the white hole created. Relative time would be in a strange state... It's possible it would be neutral with both white and black holes, or perhaps stretched... It's hard to say... Or perhaps time could reverse.. but with matter in motion, time can only move forward. A paradoxical convergence would certainly be created. I intend to put an end to our suffering, even if it kills me. I must make preparations; Lennox suggested I affix some long-range transmission devices to try and transmit comms once I'm stasis-warped... I may have to build them once I arrive as I wont have available power for them during transit. I must also contact Overwatch and request their help for this insane ordeal...

Day 29: 1900
Location: Dabadoru Station
It seems that I may have gotten ahead of myself with these ideas; and finally someone was able to talk some sense into me. For now, as a short term goal, we'll be focusing on the construction of an Azurite containment device to relieve my generator of the necessary drains on its core. I've given the Zoner research group, Ingenuus a months time to complete this task as they will contact me when the required materials etc are accounted for in their designs. Once that is complete, I will retrieve needed materials, and construction will commence.
Today has been a strange turn in direction...

Day 34: 1600
Location: Meskhenet Station
*Rather than the familiar man's voice, a young woman's voice pierces the playback*
Since these are the voice logs of James, I think it is only fair I introduce myself. I am Viktoria, and I am an artificial reproduction of my formal self in the form of cybernetic intelligence; or an AI as you all seem to be familiar. Because I am based on my former self, I hold memories from my past life which came to a close in 776 A.S. However, these memories allow me to... simulate; well in actuality, feel emotion. I know not exactly how it works, but I do know it has something to do with the central hub that is installed on the "Talandar." I can't analyze it, as it is heavily shielded from any radiation or otherwise. I will allow the Order's doctors to do their work on it after James is awake. This brings me to the purpose of my intrusion. The events prior to my awakening have been explained to me vaguely at best, but what I do know is this: A Nomad Guardian appeared in Delta, offering James a path of choice. He stated he would take the path of knowledge, but not give up his free will. Shortly after, he lost consciousness, and his ship initiated an emergency stasis protocol. During such, I was reactivated, and his ship is now on hard lock-down. I'm currently working on breaching the security system he designed, but I cannot guarantee success, as many steps require manual override...
*The recording ends with a severe sadness falling over Viktoria.*

Day 35: 1200
Location: Meskhenet Station
*Sorrow fills every wavelength of sound coming from the playback*
...I cannot bring myself to continue logging here... James, what have you done? You've left me here only to track my past to find that you are my son... All these years, you've endured so much, yet fate would keep us apart... If you hear this, know I love you with all of my being...
*Only tears are heard for several minutes before Viktoria ends the recording.*
As much as it creates lavish and anguish to my core, I must continue to document here. James, the Order has made preparations to return you from stasis using a somewhat experimental medication. As much as I fear it may cause you an end of silence, I am allowing this. Let it be known that if the Order fails, I will spend the rest of my days hunting down the Order until their life has been snuffed out forever... Them, with the rest of Sirius... For the fate of the Sirius sector lies on the shoulders of the Order. On a different note, I had a brief meeting with an individual who was referred to as "Raven." We have scheduled another meeting for when the time is right. She may prove useful in pinpointing your consciousness, in the same way Kole was able to unlock the keys hiding you away from us. I hope that you return with all your wit and wisdom intact...
*A long sigh is quickly followed by a click*
James spent many weeks regaining his strength following the meeting on the Ingenuus. His mind wandered, dark whispers coalesced and tormented him, challenging his beliefs. But all was silenced at the dawn of the 9th day, where James regained his wits, and reacquired his mission: To protect the innocent, and to defend the human race.
After he had found his bearings, he began to observe the operations of those who work aboard the ship. He noted the times shifts changed, how many personnel were accounting for him, and much more. He knew if he were to be free he would have to convince the Order of a grim fate, and never return to them. On the 12th day, James made his move. His first step was getting the small amount of help he had. Viktoria had been standing by, controlling the Adonaios suit as sentry. With no warning, minutes before security changed shifts, James moved out, using security consoles to override surveillance, making little visual evidence of his movement. The time was opportune, giving him the advantage of complacency among those guarding facilities, but risking additional fresh eyes if he failed to move quickly enough. Using all of his might, persevering through the pain, James moved quickly yet casually to the hanger, Adonaios and Viktoria in tow. Using one last override, he flew his ship unauthorized to launch, out of the hangar, and spooled his engines into cruise. The only traces he left was what security personnel personally saw and the security system event log, which held no security camera footage of the departure, leaving anyone curious enough more lenient to find a malfunction than an actual breach. The only continuity, was the alias "Lead Cobra" left on each security breach as the user security override.
James spent the next few months regaining his thoughts and rechristening his mission. He had fallen astray following a dim light into darkness which had been growing more and more distant.
