Um, since flood, let me dovetail into this to: Alley thread...
...thought you'd had it 'up to here' and were just hanging on until you'd met your admin-related promises before walking out.
I had an ex wife who threatened to leave over and over again.
It was a hollow threat until I told her to hit the streets and tossed her out.
Yet, you're still here.
So who is it who hasn't thrown you out yet?
I'll set them straight!
(Joke so chill, and smile)
But kind of a real question too.
I have FL installed - playing vanilla a bit.
Disco-free rig atm, but have the codes to get her back (Thx McCool!!) but as above, haven't pulled the trigger.
NR is making me reconsider my considerations...
So, thank you and (another thing, which I can't say and you can probably figure out) you, my old friend.

I've been looking to go away or at least become less involved in the overall disco stuff, but it barely worked. The only thing that worked out was handing the lead position to Teerin. Aside of that, everything else pretty much failed, the most annoying point of all being the person supposed to replace me for FLHook programming not doing anything.
Given the circumstances, I don't kid myself and fully know there is nobody able to take my spot right away, if ever. Thankfully, there is now one programmer giving me a hand when he can and another person attempting to get into the Hook business. But well, FLHook is far from being the only thing I need to take care of anyway.
Either way, I kinda have accepted it now. I'll never be able to leave and I'm probably just better off going under when I have too much to do IRL, like I currently did by stripping colors. It's better this way rather than losing it due to being overworked. I've yet to decide what I will do when I come back as an active member though.
Alley,
I am a fan of the honest and detailed answer and I applaud you for it.
Totally understand too - I haven't had Disco installed since 10/2014.
Since coming on in 6/2008 I, like you, have learned that the more time, effort, and pride that I put into things here, the more they tend to go largely ignored or taken for granted.
However I think the nature of any gaming community is flighty at best, as various players' interest waxes and wanes.
Sometimes you've got a whole team driving to the goal, and sometimes you're totally on your own while the people you are counting on are sitting on the pitch having a nap.
Cheers to you for not allowing this to make you ragequit - I have made that error myself in the past.
So anyway, thanks for being forthright.
