OK, the CUFF has two huegenots - Rogue and Moon Spawn equipped with - illegal equipment. Only things legal there are the Corsair turrets (not sure but those may be BS).
Anyway, I scanned them today in New York it looked a bit odd to see the Tizona turrets in such a number on both of them. (unfortunately had other things to do and I didn't take a screenie). Also had BS shields on them. Since I was going to equip my own huegenot I went and put the BS shield as CUFF did.
When I was engaged by them (no comment on the tactics) the two huegenots ate my BS shield in no time. I figured - it must be the Tizona turrets as my 1 inferno didn't do much to their shields.
So, after pinning down one of the CUFFs at Kyoto base (it was Rogue) we had a little chat where he admitted the existance of all possible illegal equipment like GB shield on the train, BS shield on the cruiser and so on, amongst others, the Tizona turrets on the Huegenots. (I have screenies of the chat, if required I'll post).
So, my question is: CUFF, what more do you need in your dirty tactics? You system/base camp, you always run when not in greater numbers and now THIS! Every possible bug in the game is exploited by you! All tha in spite of all the talk in the forum?
Rogue asked why is it illegal well, here's the math:
Tizona turret
refire: 5 shots per sec
Power usage: 116
Shield Dmg: 1000
assume you have 5 of them:
power usage: 580
shield dmg: 5000
this is one shot from all five and you can fire them five times in a second:
power usage: 580x5=2900
shield dmg: 5000x5=25,000
and you can fire them for like 30 sec? more?
the Inferno Cannon which is for the capships:
refire: 0.50 (1 shot every 2 sec)
power usage: 550,000
shield dmg: 80,000
and you can fire one (I'm talking about the Huegenot) the numbers say:
power usage:275,000
shield dmg: 40,000
you have at most 5 shots.
Anyway, I'm sure someone can explain better than me, so, please, explain to Wedge why.
*looks for the Admins/moderators and such*
As far as I know it's unbalanced and illegal to have those on a capship. FFS, it was mentioned TODAY here
Quote:As for shields I don't see why using BS shields on a cruiser would be bad, as long as the cruiser was set-up too kill NPC nomad BS patrols.
Which would mean not anti-shield weapons, no missiles or torpedos or flaks, just energy weapons.
An if they change the turrets to include ones that don't seem to do much to a NPC nomad BS, eg. missiles or torpedos or flaks, then they have to go get a cruiser shield or have they're shield removed.
I mean, really, get a grip guys, STOP PLAYING DIRTY!
I'll bow down to you if you are fair and better than me and have honor. You continue this way and I'll hunt EVERY mistake you make.
Come on, I PERSONALY helped Josh transfer in NY 70 mil (this is a poke to Alex too) to his bank a few days ago. Half hour before that we were bashing the c*** out of each other in New Tokio. But I admire his honor and courage for fighting the lot of us ALONE. H*** I can write poems about that Ravenclaw fighter in New Tokio that night.
We all come to play a game we like here, of course, skirmishes and little quarels (spelling?!) happen but you Rogue and Assassin (Yeah, I've seen through MoonSpawn and Horror disguise, it's something you can't avoid [which is it, the third time?]) simply come here and try to spoil it for all of us. And not to mention your behaviour to Silvara today in New York (at least what I've seen in system chat) I wouldn't tolerate such words (no screenies again as it was no ground for foul language) but really, I'm ashamed to be sharing the appartenance to the human race with you.
I can write more about all this but you will probably not understand half of what I'm talking about here anyway.

GB on Trains.. We still have no rule about that. Debating it to death. Igiss has a solution, and he'll post that in his own time. Until then, I guess it's free run.
BS shiels on Cruisers. I said this before, so I'll repeate it. I'll allow it. (I was corrected in one of my earlier posts, so I apologize for that).
Now.. TIzona Turrets on Hueegnots.
How in the blue hell is that illegal?

Well if tizonas on huggys, cruisers and BS arent illegal then its time to have a look at that very carefully because it makes the inferno obsolete. As the tizonas are much more effective, cheaper and efficent when used with the cruiser/destroyers or BS power plants
I know where it is Cortana, I just have to find it. - Commodore Puddles
I personally think Tizona del Cid turrets should have a refire rate of 4.00 because its out of sync with all the other weapons apart from the MF side turrets.
Aanyway Alpha BS captains dont mount tizonas because to do the equivalent of an Inferno Cannon with tizonas would take up too many turret slots.
Guys .. Have to say, I have had 2 Tizona turrets on my Huggy for ever. Stems from the
day we lost the 2 forward guns. At that time those 2 slots always had Tizzies on them.
Can't actually see a problem with this.
I would like infernos, but the power supply issues don't really allow this .. And mine is
set up more to deal with fighters .. Though now I shall certainly be replacing the shield,
as I obviously missed the ruling on the BS one.

yeah, I understand 2 tizonas, but FIVE or six, didn't remember is really unbalanced and having BS shields... a single huggy would take out any BS, not to mention two of them, as the BS is a much slower and bigger target than the huggy.

Yea i have to agree with Jamez on this the Huggy is too good and really needs the hit box sorting out.
I've been mildly miffed by one-shot weapons since their implementation, oh so long ago. I remember the days when fights were a matter of who could aim better, rather than who could aim a single shot. - Virus
Problems with huggy - Hitbox smaller than a gunboat, also smaller than the actual ship is. Its too hard for a BS or cruiser to hit. Even fighters have a hard time shooting it. - More turrets than it should. We balanced the turret number on the other cruisers/destroyers, why not the huegenot? - More manueverable than any other cruiser destroyer, even though its bigger and with more guns. - Really big energy capacity.
Now someone try to say thats balanced and prove it.
