Well. Looks like nomads are getting active lately. Can't say I like it. What began as a ordinary escort, ended up as a huge fight in Stuttgart system. I don't think I saw that many nomads even back in Iota. We were ultimately able to push them back, but I doubt we were actually able to do any signifficant damage to them. They just keep coming back. The one our comuters usually identfy as Kal'Reh has appeared several times already.... even after we managed to blow him up in Stuttgart.
I really have to scout the rest of the Jumpholes in the Unidetified system. I need to know where they lead to. Where there is a higher chance of nomads appearing. Though their cloaks will probably allow them to travel undetected through regular jump holes as well, so...

Since Vertiga is unwilling to share his intel with me, safe for same occasional purchase, I decided to get myslef an exploration ship. Picking the vessel, that would serve as a base, wasn't easy, but I decided to buy a Corvo eventually. It's... rather poor when it comes to combat, but that shouldn't be a problem, since I don't really intend to fight in it. What actually convinced me, was the ability to sustain an cruiser shield and cargo bay large enough to fit the best cloak available. Together with heavy hull reinsforcement and a scanner usually used on battleships, the ship managed to drain a considerable amount of my money, but I can always do some more trading, so I don't mind that much.
But the ship is still not ready. I have to get it retroffited. It needs different engines, since the current ones aren't exactly easy to maintain. The Cloak and Scanner is giving me some problems too. I guess it has something to do with the fact they are ment to be used on Battleships, and I got them mounted on gunboat... If Corvo can even be called gunboat. So.. that needs to be fixed too, before I go with it anywhere outside the House space. And the inner layout needs to change. I won't need as much crew since I don't intend to fight and since I will probably buy some mainteance robots, if I ever decide from who to buy them. But It will definitely need a better medical bay, in case the things go sideways.
And a crew. Of course. I have some lads helping me move this ship for now, but they were never outside of House space and I don't really want to take greenies to a dangerous systems.
*short static can be heard when the recording is stopped. After a few seconds a new recording beggins*
I decided to piece these two logs together, because second trip to the uncharted system was surprisingly short and smooth .
*static again for a moment, before the recording begins. This time, the quality of voice is a bit lower and a distinct humm of engine can be heard in background*
So... yeah. I'm here again. I guess there's no point in waiting. Initiating Jump Gate Sequence. Three - Two - One - Jump! *brief moment of static* Okay. Radiation? Yeah, same as the last time, no surprises there. System looks same as before. Well, to the gates then. *Jimmy is silent for some time* Huh... could've swear it was around here. *sigh* Setting up waypoints, done. Cruise engines, charging. *another silent part* Ah, there you are. I had to remember it wrong. A'ight, Bretonia it is then. Soares I really hope you are ready to fly, in case this goes badly. Jump Hole sequence initiated. Three - Two - One - Jump! *the usual moment of static* Whoa. I kinda did expect this Gate to take me to London... but this close to the planet... Yeah, that's not good. Not good at all. *sigh* Allright, recording stopped.

I should be more carefull. I really should. But what can I say, curiosity got better of me. Ivan was goin't to look for the reactor of sorts, Aetius saw in Faro, and asked if I want to go with him. Well, of course I wanted. I used this oportunity to test another Jump Gate in the Jump system, this time, the Order one. I was expecting it to lead to some of the inner Order words, and it didn't fail me. It took me to Omicron Mu. Fortunately, Mu is in our clerance, so I didn't have to hide, but... damn it, New York or London are one thing, but one jump from the heart of Liberty to the deep Omicrons? Bloody hell. Though... given the presence of Iota gates, I shouldn't be that much surprised I guess.
Anyways. After a little search, we found a way from Mu to Delta. It took us through Minor and what I saw there... Sure, we were in Minor before, but we didn't find Toledo the first time. That planet is... graveyard. The whole planet was turned to a vulcanic wasteland and accordin' to some logs we found on board of disabled ships near the planet, it was nomads who did this. Just remembering it gives me chills.
We didn't linger there long. We still had to go to Delta and ivestigate the Azurite reactor. Finding the structure wasn't hard, since I have the complete map of Delta from Vertiga, but damn, that thing was huge. We searched for the entrance Aetius mentioned but it took us a while before we found it. i was beginning to get nervous, but when we found it I complete forgot about my worries. I have absolutely NO idea what that thing does, but the Azurite Gas seems to come from it. I got few pictures of the insides of the reactor, but the radiation there was so high I couldn't stay there for too long.
Ivan went in there to gather more of the Gas, when nomad uncloaked near the entrance and some Aoi tagged ship appeared. I didn't wait to for them to attack and immediately after warning Ivan, I charged my cloak, knowing fully well, while Ivan's gunboat won't be an easy target to take down, I on the other side was an easy pickings. I still remember the skill these things shown near Stuttgart. The nomad was not fast enough to disrupt charging the cloak, but he sure tried to turn me into scrap before my cloak will hide me entirely. He didn't succed. But then I made a mistake and instead of docking on the first safe place, I went to Dabadoru to restock and go help Ivan, who was fighting near the Freeport.
The cloak run out of juice 20K from Dabadoru and the nomad took an advantage of that. I was able to get to Dabadoru, but he messed up my ship really bad and the only thing that stopped him from blowing it up completely were the shots from the station. Now I have to sit in there and wait for my ship being repaired and for some Order guy to stop lecturing me about me being more carefull when I go to Omicrons. *sigh*

I've met a strange man, he calls himself doctor Rush. If what he says is true, he is researching another possibilities for FTL travel. He got me interested, though I'm still a bit sceptical about him. I offered him a trip to the Jump Hole.. or the Shrine system I should probably say. If he really is trying to research FTL travel, he should be interested in those jump gates, right? Well, turned out he really is. We went there and he was fascinated by the pylons and jump holes. I just hope he actually got some data from the trip.
When we were near the Holes, a nomad de-cloaked. I told Rush to jump. I know Vertiga said something about the system being a peacefull one, but I didn't want to take any risk. It turned out, the nomad... Astarte it called itself, just wanted to talk. So we did. For a bit. Interesting thing was, he actually made the voice to come up from my speakers. I think Ivan mentioned something about them doing it before, but it still cought me surprised. I'm still not sure if anything it said will be usefull, but it's always good to have it recorded.
When I was about the leave the nomad actually gave me an PDA. I'm not sure why, but my best guess is he can communicate through it. I'll just lock it safe, in case I'll need it.

The scientist I met agreed to my offer and so I put the plan to motion. Crayterians agreed with the location of the base and the construction already began. Boy, did I underestimate the task. I actually had to hire someone to manage the base, because I was flying all around, suppling it with construction materials and other neccesary supplies. I was really lucky to get help from some of my friends from FL-ER and a two freelancers. They are the only reason the base is actually up and runing, with functional shield and all necessary systems.
The guy I hired, Patrick, is currently overseeing a core upgrade, and he already sent messages to several organizations offering them contracts, so I can rest for a bit. Sure, It will cost more, having others bring the supplies, but at least I'll have my hands free to do my usuall stuff. I just hope Rush won't back out of the deal now. I guess I should come up with some other use for the base, just in case.

Looks like Hessians are on it again. This time, it's Reutligen. I would really like to know what changed revolutionare group into bloodthirsty warmongers, but I doubt I will ever know. The first attack was pushed back, but I would be surprised if they didn't tried again.
Glednalough Orbital is going on quite well. I think it might be able to start producing in a few weeks, though I think setting up the lab will take longer. I hope Rush has patience.

So, I've met this woman... Lorelii. I have to say, I wouldn't expect someone like her running Solitaire, but she has it all. Smarts and looks. I have to say I really like her. We chatted in Solitaire for some time, even did a bit a business, and then... *he is quiet for some time, probably lost in memories* then we went to dinner. I have to say, the food wasn't bad, but what followed.... ah, that was even better. I hope we'll find some time to go out again... Now, where was I? Oh, right, I need to get to the Manchaster.
*clicking can be heard together with a silent hum of slowly starting engines. He probably haven't realized he's still recording, and he slipped back to his usuall accent. Who knows why he tries to record his logs without it.*
A'ight, that's it, just one Jump to go. I wonder, is anyone on channel now? *he preses a few buttons* Oh, Luka's 'ere.
"'Ello lad."
"Busy!....Wait... sorry.....Hi."
"Whatcha up to?"
"Chasing a monster."
"The hell? Where are ya and what monster? Nom?"
"A nomad!"
"Lad, that's dangerous!"
"Grrrr! I lost it! Where did it go!"
"Where are ya?"
"I don't know! Went through a Jump Hole in Penn.... wait what is this?!"
"Okay, describe the system."
"An ice cloud."
"Speak to me lad, what do ya see?"
"And a strange triangle... wait."
"Ice cloud? That's in a lo' of systems."
"It's activating! It's---"*voice dissapears in static*
"TRIANGLE? Dammit, that moron went to the Shrine system! Lad? Lad do ya hear me? Whatever ya do dinnae shoot! Oh, bloody hell I got to git to him!"
*the recording suddenly ends. He probably realized he was still recording and turned it off.*

Okay, things got scary, but luckilly I was able to get Luka out safe. That young fool tried to take on a nomad, followed him to the Shrine system and got himself dragged into combat. Dammit, what was he thinking? The alien ripped his ship to pieces and I guess wanted to get that poor guy to Shrine, but I was able to get there soon enough to confront the nomad. Well... I did not fight it, Astarte made it clear the Shrine system is sort of a no-fire zone. The nomad gave him up willingly. No idea why, but I suspect he realized he won't be able to keep Luka's potential infection secret anymore. Though he did try to convince me, he already managed to do that.
I have to admit, I was really scared he really did infect him. I took one of those weird Holes and Jumped to the Omicrons, where I went to the Freeport 11. All that time the words the nomad spoke to me were echoing in my mind. It was a big relief, when I found out the boy's pod was not damaged or breached in any way and his suit was intact as well. From all I know, that wouldn't be the case, should the nomad really try to get to him. I waited a few days on the Freeport just to be sure, but I couldn't stay there for long, Patrick was bombarding me with messages. It appears Glendalough was found by the outcasts after all.

It seems Patrick is handling the trouble with Outcasts reasonably well. Better him than me anyways, I can't really stand those types. The sure got balls to try enforce their laws in Coronado. I just hope Patrick is right about negotiating with them. Glendalough cost me a fair deal of money already and it still ain't self sufficient in terms of money. Well, I'll see how it comes around. At least Tuatha is almost finished. Retrofit is completed and the only thing that remains are he robots and their programming. Kishiro finally managed to respond so I think it won't take that long now. Hopefully.
