This network has been established for the sole study of individuals pertaining to the illusive organization designated 'The Cult'.
Initial Encounter - 03:20:43 SMT, November 5th, 823 A.S
Unit designated as 'Seeker' pursuing Bounty Contract on known affiliate of an Artifact smuggling organization. Ecounter occurred briefly within the Sierra Ice Field. The vessel activated an unidentified cloaking device outside of standard cargo scanning range.
Preliminary observation reported a Bustard-Class Civilian Carrier, ordinarily not something worth investigating. The unique EM-Wave signature its stealth system made use of is another story. In addition, no weaponry was detected on board the vessel. The 'Captain' of the vessel spoke briefly.
[05.11.2016 03:20:43] Techa.Vindicata: St.Dormos: Alone he says.. *He chuckles some* My child, you should know better.
-------
[05.11.2016 03:28:06] Techa.Vindicata: St.Dormos: Trying to bribe me with credits is quite possibly a poor choice, freelancer. What use would I have of that?
Secondary observation occurred November the 6th around the hour of 04:00 SMT. Unit Myrmidon One piloted by Curator Leviathan, accompanied by Affiliate James and Keeper Revenant arrived on scene at the location of a Baxter Anomaly which sensors identified and cataloged as K751. Curator Leviathan was the first to arrive on the scene, later to be joined by an LSF agent, an ESRD agent, and a Junker, all of which proceeded to engage the Bustard-Class Carrier in conversation.
The conversation was mostly one-way, in which the Carrier refused to communicate. Visual evidence of cargo showing similar signatures to item #3287. The Captain of the vessel announced that others should retain distance from the anomaly. Visual evidence of unidentified particle beam weaponry being fired from the Carrier was recorded. Scans returned null. The particles managed to successfully disperse the gravitational disruption generated by K751, effectively destroying the anomaly.
As mentioned, the object dispersed. After brief, uneventful questioning the vessel engaged an advanced form of cloak and eluded pursuit. Discussions with the other individuals present provided several theories as to the origin of the vessel and its purpose. The remainder of any evidence will be collected within this network for investigation. Additional evidence will be attached to the primary case file.
[05.11.2016 23:56:40] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: For once I wish these tasks could go unnoticed. Alas it seems as though your scanners are indeed sensitive enough.
[05.11.2016 23:56:41] Jacob.Taylor: Come on AFC, lets check that out.
[05.11.2016 23:56:42] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Enroute. ETA, five minutes.
[05.11.2016 23:56:44] A/)-Myrmidon.1: Baxter Anomaly. Carrier just decloaked.
[05.11.2016 23:56:48] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: We really need a speed boost on this.
[05.11.2016 23:56:49] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Callsigns?
[05.11.2016 23:56:50] .:j:.Likho: Fear. That is the predominant emotion.
[05.11.2016 23:56:56] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Get evidence of this Baxter.
[05.11.2016 23:56:58] Jacob.Taylor: Sector 5C
[05.11.2016 23:56:58] .:j:.Likho: For this occasion, at least.
[05.11.2016 23:56:59] A/)-Myrmidon.1: Collecting.
[05.11.2016 23:57:04] "Constellation.Cancer": Vi: Black Gold; only available callsign.
[05.11.2016 23:57:11] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Include it in our studies.
[05.11.2016 23:57:28] [LN]-ESRD|Phoenix: ?:"Ripping open an anomaly in the middle of New York triggers alot of sensors."
[05.11.2016 23:57:33] "Constellation.Cancer": Vi: Documenting and forwarding available visuals to James as well.
[05.11.2016 23:57:35] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Reconfirming, the Carrier has no call sign?
[05.11.2016 23:57:44] A/)-Myrmidon.1: Techa Vindicata.
[05.11.2016 23:57:49] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Actually, we are here to close it. Now please, do take distance, my child. Lest you get hurt.
[05.11.2016 23:57:53] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Ship is on the history list.
[05.11.2016 23:57:57] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Scouted by Sentinel.
[05.11.2016 23:58:00] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Seeker detected it.
[05.11.2016 23:58:10] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Approximately 22 hours ago.
[05.11.2016 23:58:17] Base K751 destroyed
[05.11.2016 23:58:17] Killbox:404: Not going to make friends with that attitude.
[05.11.2016 23:58:20] A/)-Myrmidon.1: Woah.
[05.11.2016 23:58:25] A/)-Myrmidon.1: It just sealed the anomaly.
[05.11.2016 23:58:32] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Do you know... how?
[05.11.2016 23:58:34] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Devices?
[05.11.2016 23:58:37] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Catalysts?
[05.11.2016 23:58:40] "Constellation.Cancer": James: Dr. Erzie is here with you, I have visuals...
[05.11.2016 23:58:42] A/)-Myrmidon.1: I got an image of a pulse weapon it fired.
[05.11.2016 23:58:45] Jacob.Taylor: Interesting to say the least....
[05.11.2016 23:58:46] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Good.
[05.11.2016 23:58:51] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: And of the ship?
[05.11.2016 23:58:56] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Do not take this the wrong way, but we are not here to make friends. Nor are we here for the opposite.
[05.11.2016 23:58:58] A/)-Myrmidon.1: Still present.
[05.11.2016 23:58:59] "Constellation.Cancer": J: There's a slight delay, and the picture is a little fuzzy...
[05.11.2016 23:59:01] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Scan it.
[05.11.2016 23:59:05] .:j:.Likho: Then... What are you here for?
[05.11.2016 23:59:09] Killbox:404: Then what /are/ you here for?
[05.11.2016 23:59:10] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: We're thirty clicks away.
[05.11.2016 23:59:13] A/)-Myrmidon.1: Then perhaps you could explain those pulses your ship just fired.
[05.11.2016 23:59:16] .:j:.Likho: And should I run?
[05.11.2016 23:59:17] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: I am merely a man who has a task. And that task has been done.
[05.11.2016 23:59:25] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Fighter wing, dock.
[05.11.2016 23:59:25] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Remember, move like a ghost.
[05.11.2016 23:59:27] "Constellation.Cancer": J: No idea what weapons are aboard... Extremely high energy conduits.
[05.11.2016 23:59:29] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: We're no enforcers.
[05.11.2016 23:59:42] .:j:.Likho: Someone, save their guncam footage.
[05.11.2016 23:59:49] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Or better yet, do not.
The following are a list of theories speculated by outside sources:
- 'The Cult' is a covert and well equipped branch of The Order's past due to their methodology of silence. By current standards their Modus Operendi no longer fits in line with The Order that we are in contact with, - 'The Cult' is a sect of Nomad worshipers similar to the Oracles due to religious mannerisms frequently used in speech.
- 'The Cult' is an organization that collects and hoards advanced technology from any who might have it for fanatical purposes. This poses a significant problem due to the nature of our flagship and several projects within Zeta Section.
All data surrounding the investigation in to this case file remain classified until further notice or discussion with The Keeper, The Curator, and Venator Glass. Submit all relevant data to this network.
Investigations may proceed, but our primary focus remains on the other objective.
I would like to point out the connection to the 'Gatekeepers' in Omicron Zeta, I am no scientist, but perhaps these Cultists could potentially be connected to the Nomads?
One notable scans were the Jumphole Generator parts, perhaps they're used to deconstruct and construct parts on a particular wavelength, like a radio of some form. Of course, I am purely just making random estimates for directions.
A sensor ping occurred within New York during standard operations in which The Curator, Keeper and Venator McAllister (who has since been added to this case file for review) moved to investigate another hyperspace reading. With no fixed location, a 'follow-up' was speculated, and thus the Detroit Debris Field was investigated at the location in which anomaly K751 was detected.
The encounter occurred when the vessel begun to speak and revealed its self with several well armed escort craft. Legion assets investigated closely, as we had already recovered the necessary scans in our previous encounter. The commanding officer of the Bustard-Class identified himself as one Saint Brutus, and referenced another individual known as Saint Andrew.
[06.11.2016 21:24:10] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: *He sighs some*
[06.11.2016 21:24:29] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: You know, it is rather rude to not introduce yourself when travelling down the highway.
[06.11.2016 21:24:53] [HF]-Beta.1: Contact.
[06.11.2016 21:24:57] A/)-Curator: Confirmed.
[06.11.2016 21:24:59] [HF]-Beta.1: LNS on scanners, thirteen clicks and closing.
[06.11.2016 21:25:09] A/)-Curator: Overlord.
[06.11.2016 21:25:16] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Tell that to my late friend Saint Andrew. He was more inclined to greet the locals.
[06.11.2016 21:25:16] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Overlord class, it's trying to escape.
[06.11.2016 21:25:18] A/)-Curator: It's leaving.
[06.11.2016 21:25:31] A/)-Curator: Well, we're not exactly here to hurt you.
[06.11.2016 21:25:37] Caleb.Oh: Says a lot, to be honest
[06.11.2016 21:25:38] A/)-Curator: Mainly because we don't know who you are.
[06.11.2016 21:25:42] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Sadly, it seems that his trust in the locals was ill-placed, my child.
[06.11.2016 21:25:44] [HF]-Beta.1: I'm not exactly clear on what's even going on.
[06.11.2016 21:25:58] A/)-Curator: We're not exactly local, either.
[06.11.2016 21:26:06] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: You see, when you walk through the neighbourhood with a pair of shifty eyes, you startle some of the
[06.11.2016 21:26:07] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: residents.
[06.11.2016 21:26:44] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: *He smiles to himself* Hurt me..hmm. Yes, I suppose that could be an excuse for my lack of manners.
[06.11.2016 21:26:46] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: It is only natural that people become curious. It was only a matter of time.
[06.11.2016 21:27:20] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: While that is not the case entirely, let us just go with that as the reason, yes.
[06.11.2016 21:28:03] A/)-Curator: You haven't given us a reason to attack, so we aren't going to.
[06.11.2016 21:28:27] A/)-Curator: Given your illusive nature and people's tendency to be curious, now might be as good a time as any to try reaching out again.
[06.11.2016 21:28:53] A/)-Curator: People don't like things they don't understand. Sometimes it scares them and they act irrationally.
[06.11.2016 21:28:59] A/)-Curator: Irrationality leads to violence.
[06.11.2016 21:29:07] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: And yet it sparks questions. Too many questions for an old man like myself to dare try and answer, my child. Please
[06.11.2016 21:29:10] Techa.Vindicata: understand that.
[06.11.2016 21:29:30] A/)-Curator: Then why not answer one and see where it leads?
[06.11.2016 21:29:55] [HF]-Beta.1: I have contact. Legionnaire Oh, approach on impulse.
[06.11.2016 21:30:01] Caleb.Oh: Roger that.
[06.11.2016 21:30:04] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Interesting, your hull seems to be damaged, slightly.
[06.11.2016 21:30:05] [HF]-Beta.1: We'll attempt a cursory scan.. if of course, you don't mind.
[06.11.2016 21:30:17] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Did you perhaps run into the K'Hara?
[06.11.2016 21:30:28] [HF]-Beta.1: I'm getting unknown energy readings from its weapon hardpoints..
[06.11.2016 21:30:52] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: The nomad? No, and we do not have any interest in those beings either. I am simply here
[06.11.2016 21:31:02] Techa.Vindicata: to make sure my yesterday's task was succesful.
[06.11.2016 21:31:04] [HF]-Beta.1: Multiple contacts, snubcraft.
[06.11.2016 21:31:10] A/)-Curator: Follow-up visit.
[06.11.2016 21:31:28] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: What is your interest then, may I ask?
[06.11.2016 21:32:01] [HF]-Beta.1: Reading nearly a dozen subspace anomalies consistent with jumphole inducer technology.
[06.11.2016 21:32:32] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Hrmmmm, hmmm, hmmm. Overall, too many to dare and describe, my child. But for today, merely making sure that things
[06.11.2016 21:32:37] Techa.Vindicata: are as they are supposed to be.
[06.11.2016 21:32:46] A/)-Curator: If you aren't too opposed to the idea, we've got a vessel that can conduct field repairs on your ship.
[06.11.2016 21:32:49] Caleb.Oh: Cryptic.
[06.11.2016 21:33:05] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Traces, evidence. I suppose you're here to ensure that the anomaly was sealed correctly?
[06.11.2016 21:33:21] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: After-all, no one wants it to be unstable...
[06.11.2016 21:33:44] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Mistakes are what caused it in the first place. I would rather have my own task been done thorough, so to speak.
[06.11.2016 21:34:01] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Ah. Experiments, I see?
[06.11.2016 21:34:04] A/)-Curator: Better to be safe than sorry, I suppose.
[06.11.2016 21:34:24] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Perhaps it would be insane of me to ask if you would need assistance?
[06.11.2016 21:34:30] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: And thank you for the offer, but I assure you my home is quite a bit sturdier than it seems.
[06.11.2016 21:34:37] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Afterall, you are not here with aggressive intents, are you?
[06.11.2016 21:35:22] [HF]-Beta.1: Holy christ.
[06.11.2016 21:35:32] [HF]-Beta.1: Those fighters are packing about a dozen weapons each.
[06.11.2016 21:35:33] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: It's inevitable that the local Agencies will start to peer their attention towards you.
[06.11.2016 21:35:36] [HF]-Beta.1: How is that even possible?
[06.11.2016 21:35:59] [HF]-Beta.1: More like two dozen.
[06.11.2016 21:36:06] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Overpowering the reactors, maybe. Perhaps even installing out-right new energy sources.
[06.11.2016 21:36:23] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: *He gives a polite little shrug* Let them, I suppose. I will not be a distraction for long, my child.
[06.11.2016 21:36:24] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: It was never a question of 'how' but 'can' you fire those guns.
[06.11.2016 21:36:32] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: This is but one of our stops, so to speak.
[06.11.2016 21:36:32] Caleb.Oh: I dunno, man. After what happened to that system in the Omegas, "new energy sources" give me the willies.
[06.11.2016 21:36:42] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Fighter wings, dock.
[06.11.2016 21:36:48] A/)-Curator: And what's your next destination, if I might inquire?
[06.11.2016 21:37:41] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Well, that would be rather rude to ask such things, my child. After all, you have your tasks and I have mine.
[06.11.2016 21:37:50] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Your concerns for privacy are valid.
[06.11.2016 21:37:59] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: But I must warn of you where you step.
[06.11.2016 21:38:11] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Your actions are slowly building up attention to the Agencies across the Sector.
[06.11.2016 21:38:20] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Tread carefully upon the ice.
[06.11.2016 21:38:52] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: *His brows furrow* Child, I could not care less for their nonsensical and hopeless struggles. If they take offense,
[06.11.2016 21:38:52] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: They don't seem that bad at all.
[06.11.2016 21:39:05] Techa.Vindicata: let them. It makes no difference to me, nor it should. Nor it can.
[06.11.2016 21:39:29] A/)-Curator: It isn't about their struggles, but what they'll do to uncover the unknown.
[06.11.2016 21:39:29] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Then that is your view, I understand.
[06.11.2016 21:40:40] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Too much negativity has come out of previous contacts like that, from long ago.
[06.11.2016 21:41:03] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: The unknown leads to fear, fear leads to conflict.
[06.11.2016 21:41:04] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Had we not learned from that, a different kind of party would be carrying out this task.
[06.11.2016 21:41:29] A/)-Curator: That's why you should be cautious. If we could find you based on the guess of a follow-up, they can track you.
[06.11.2016 21:41:50] A/)-Curator: And they're better funded than us, with something to gain by pursuing you.
[06.11.2016 21:41:52] [HF]-Beta.1: The man is smart enough to know that, Raven.
[06.11.2016 21:41:55] [HF]-Beta.1: He wanted to be found.
[06.11.2016 21:42:06] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: My child, you found me because I allowed you to.
[06.11.2016 21:42:14] [HF]-Beta.1: There you go.
[06.11.2016 21:42:22] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: I'm aware.
[06.11.2016 21:42:26] Caleb.Oh: But... why? Why us?
[06.11.2016 21:42:52] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Because you happen to be in this sector, where my yesterday's task was.
[06.11.2016 21:43:03] [HF]-Beta.1: Putting myself in his shoes? Gauging response time, strength, reaction.
[06.11.2016 21:43:36] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Hmmm? Please do not worry yourself about such questions. Those types of gauging were done many times before.
[06.11.2016 21:44:31] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Ah, and for the record, I am known as Keeper Revenant, or Keeper Raven.
[06.11.2016 21:44:47] [HF]-Beta.1: Lord Commander Samuel Locklear.
[06.11.2016 21:45:10] Caleb.Oh: Caleb Oh, Legionary Ensign.
[06.11.2016 21:45:15] [HF]-Beta.1: A pretentious title, but at least I'm not claiming to be a saint.
[06.11.2016 21:45:21] A/)-Curator: Curator Leviathan.
[06.11.2016 21:45:22] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Saint Brutus, the second. And it seems as though while needed, my trip here was unneeded.
[06.11.2016 21:45:42] A/)-Augur: Mm, Venator Augur.
[06.11.2016 21:46:10] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: *He laughs a little* New words, new faces. Interesting. If all happens well, this will be the last time we meet.
[06.11.2016 21:46:15] Techa.Vindicata: St.Brutus: Keep safe.
[06.11.2016 21:46:27] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: R: Farewell.
The individual "Saint Brutus" was rather vague as to his intentions, origins and destination. In the final few minutes he noted that this would be 'the last time we meet' which implied he had no intention of encountering us again. This is of course relating to his decision to give away his position and decloak to speak to us. In any other circumstance with any other party not present, it's likely his vessel would come under fire. Noted in the few times this carrier was encountered was its lack of shielding, yet "Saint Brutus" claims their hull is more than capable of withstanding any assaults, despite the minor damage it had already received. They turned down an offer to receive field repairs.
Observing the mannerisms and naming conventions of "Saint Brutus" and the mentioned "Saint Andrew' leads me to assume that 'The Cult' is in fact a religiously motivated organization. Keeper Revenant's theory in related to the 'Gatekeeper' technology located in Omicron Zeta might have a direct correlation to the particle beam weaponry which the Bustard-Class used to disrupt and seal K751, given similar properties and function. However the Gatekeepers weren't intended to disperse and remove the anomaly, but rather prevent people from using it, while the weaponry used by the Techa Vindicata completely disrupted the anomaly. Given the vessel later returned to ensure their work was finished, this isn't the first time they've performed such a task.
Observing their speech and hearing what they've said has left the idea that they're xenophobic. They've no intention to make friends or enemies. Given their technological prowess I have no doubt that any enemy they make would be in for a fight. Their motives remain unclear, and it's obvious that "Saint Brutus" answers to someone else, given how he mentioned he had a task to accomplish. In cultist society, tasks are handed down to followers of the cult's ideals rather than people in a seat of power. Prophets, so to speak, would avoid entering the field for mundane duties or tasks.
Looking over the listed theories, it's entirely possible given our own technological secrets to attempt to draw out 'The Cult'. Making use of our more advanced and secretive projects could attract their attention if technology is what they're after. It may be, given their possession of components relating to item #3287 that further experimenting with said items might possibly be sacrilegious to them. They've proven capable of sealing anomalies, and if the item does what we assume it can do, then we have our bait.
It appears they're not siding with the Nomads at all. When the ship started to sustain damage, it simply vanished. When the Wraith came along to the sector to inspect in stealth, transmission were picked up by the local Navy forces that the Cultists had reportedly engaged with them.
Another scout ship was detected by the Eidolon, an Eagle, saying he was here to pass on a message. Noticing his point of interest wasn't present, it departed. Simply cloaking away, then returning through whatever anomaly it used to get here.

[11.11.2016 07:15:12] Angelo.Sancto: A messenger, nothing more, nothing else.
[11.11.2016 07:15:15] JM|-Bullmastiff: Are eagles supposed to have that many flashpoints?
[11.11.2016 07:15:35] .:j:.Domovoi: Snell: And what message does one such as yourself carry, shieldless one?
[11.11.2016 07:16:01] Angelo.Sancto: Though it seems as that the recepient of said message is not present.
I have some disbelief that these Cultists are even that hostile, as the Navy tried to note. But at least our theory was cleared up, thanks to the observer. We can relax on that point of view.
Recently sighted in New London and in New York, although we missed that one. What is noticable is their increase of drone usage - including the commanding units.
Upon their destruction, scientific data can be discovered from their broken databanks, along with salvage of the drones remains. It seems that people are taking the opportunity to steal these parts.
It's imperative that we must take it away from them before they uncover anything dangerous. Technology can't be trusted with anyone else. Whilst one of their people have warned us to keep away from the crossfire, we still should act upon these worming bugs and take back the pieces ourselves.
I believe instead, that we can decypher the data and ensure that it does not leave our hands. It's a shame to see a vibrant shade of people be eradicated from Liberty's idiocy.
What with the recent anomalies spouting out in randomised locations, and with their appearance rates spiking up once more, I'm beginning to feel as if there is a connection between the Cult and these spatial events.
Anomaly 1-200-4, New York, 08/01/825
As noted in the Uplink, we attempted to trace down one of these 'Saints' to initiate queries concerning the topic of Anomaly activity, but - inevitably, we failed to find one of these said Commanders. Though, by observation, it appears that their arsenal has been upgraded, the hull has been reinforced, weapons overcharged even further, who knows what they truly plan with these skirmishes.
But, perhaps the biggest part of our curiosity is this material, dubbed "Narcrahtite" by the NeuralNet, discovered from the wreckage of the fight, samples obtained by the local of Kusari. Unfortunately, we do not have any samples. I truly feel discomfort with their show off of technology, and resources...
It's a possibility they may be leaving traces intentionally for a larger scheme, perchance that they may be planning a trap for the curious ones. Analysis is required of the scenario. Do we bother to attempt to reverse-engineer this in hopes of sending a message, or do we maintain our distance in the shadow? Are the Cultists truly hostile? Would it be more feasible to attempt to program these to trace and record the Cultists activity instead - if at all possible to locate any data from the debris? Many questions are being raised, but little answers are being uncovered.
Initial reports of a large energy signature being reported in Rheinland on the fringes of Frankfurt were picked up. Attempts to gain access to investigate in person were denied, thus combat drones were dispatched to record and collect anything they could.
During the fighting it seems the drones lost their defensive measures from a barrage of torpedoes extending from a similar carrier-class vessel to that of the Techa Vindicata. This carrier however, was far superior in comparison to our initially recovered data. Its armaments were able to outmatch the majority of the Rheinland military forces and put a dent in both the Viper and Ares. It seemed that the carrier was attempting to do something when it was supposedly set upon by Nomads. Out of no where, it activated a generator, like item #3287, with less than successful results, unlike experiment F-624. The Cultist then began to attack. No identification was given as to who was operating the craft, thus it's safe to assume that it was automated, like the rest of its combat craft. Data and salvage recovered are en route to storage at Ataraxia.
The second encounter occurred in Omega-3 during transit of the Andraste for its refit in Bretonia. We were notified of some energy signatures and attacks being made against Miners braving the Comet in the system for valuable minerals. Granted access by the Bretonian Armed Forces, one Admiral McIntire, The Andraste and Eidolon were both deployed and had regrouped with the Bretonian battlegroup.
Arriving, we found another carrier, equal to the one encountered in Frankfurt, yet obviously not the same. Yet again, no identity ascertained, as combat was already engaged when we arrived. The Andraste and Eidolon provided support to the Bretonians, successfully destroying the vessel, yet not before it could detonate what appeared to be a similar explosive that Keeper Raven had witnessed in Omicron Delta. Several Bretonian vessels were damaged by the detonation, and the Andraste needed minor field repairs, which were provided by the Bretonians. Two more lesser carrier-class vessels entered the area and began to engage.
Unfortunately, some Hessians managed to secure several items from the Cultist's remains. They escaped, and were covered by the Coalition, who allowed dangerous criminals to escape with even more dangerous technology than we should've allowed. Nevertheless, the necessary data and salvage were recovered by us, with bits and pieces being recovered by the Bretonians, IMG and ALG. Attempts to discuss the release of the data were unsuccessful, yet an offer to discuss cooperation about the Cultists was extended, in the hopes that anything they might recover could be persuaded out of their hands or shared to us in a joint effort.
What's unusual about this is the supposed attack on the Miners at the Comet. I was under the impression that The Cult wasn't interested in provoking conflict?
I believe we have found our motivator for their cause.
The Anomalies. Even they cannot control them. They caused these catalysts to occur over time. They're afraid, they're afraid that their hidden jewels will be discovered, and that they will be powerless. They care not for others, but for themselves. To an extent, that applies to us too.
This... resource, Narcrahtite, is one of the first mysteries revealed. Small samples were obtained, Research Division will conduct experiments shortly, but it isn't quite our priority.
From this observation, it's only a matter of time until we find out where the Cultists are truly hiding, or what they plan. Perhaps we can talk to them, perhaps we subjugate them to allow redemption, or simply observe them; their technology and access to resources poses as a danger. Which is no secret to us.
By many thoughts and discussions within the Phalanx, we agreed to an experiment. This experiment proposes of attempting to stimulate their drones communication waves, in order to relay a message of queries. With the various debris collected, we believe that a basic open relay link can be established, attempting to mimic the radio waves emitted from their drones in combat, as observed. Though, unlikely to find a fully functioning device within the scrap, we can still try to analyse the materials. On another hand, it does not harm to open up various frequencies. Due to the recent discovery of this distant system, it would be safe to assume that they possibly border the Omegas or Omicrons, due to Nomadic presence in the system, or even beyond the Nomad Worlds, thus - the probe will be roughly sent to the last known orientation and coordinates of the system. The Probe will indefinitely fly until it is pinged a response or physically located. Upon deactivation, it will attempt to ping the relay back home, should there be lesser interference.
As observed in New London, one of their Carriers was cornered by both Humanity and the Nomads, denying hails, inevitably drowned in fear. Naturally - the local forces opened fire on them without even attempting to resort to reason, more interested in stealing items of interest from them. Some Bretonians even outright admitted it with their attitude.
Though, another point of interest is that they also shot back before the hails, perhaps their paranoia served them right, as Sirians have shown nothing but degeneracy, greed and hatred. Perhaps they isolated themselves for these reasons. They don't care about conflict, and want the quick resolution. Death. But yet, this does not explain their actions for raiding the Independant Miners...
As ambiguous their intents and ways, they may have yet one last chance to redeem themselves, should they even bother to listen to the proposed message.
