Construction 801 A.S.
The Burghausen at Schatten
The Burghausen was only built shortly before the house of Rheinland suffered major infections in its highest ranks, it was never supposed to be something else than a regular unit to be added to the fleet of the Rheinwehr. Its construction fell out rather normal, standard equipment, hull and technology implemented in the ship. The difference to other ships of the same class was that it was supposed to be the ship, that Admiral Schultzky was supposed to use, when Kanzler Niemann sent him to infect president Jacobi. Instead, the Burghausen had a massive engine failure, the MOX intermix chamber imploded due to a mistake in its pressure stabilization which caused the reactor to blow up and kill 10 workers that were near the engine at that time. The Admiral was stationed on the RNC-Donau instead. The Burghausen had to be repaired again, this time with a more efficient engine than before, in the mean time, the RNC-Donau already got destroyed by Order forces and Rheinland went to war with the other houses, under the command of Kanzler Niemann.
Guardian of the Kanzler
The Burghausen gets seemingly destroyed
Like almost the whole Rheinwehr, the Burghausen got infected and served as one of the slave cruisers of the nomads. Since it was still stationed in Frankfurt at Schatten, one of the most important key constructions in the nomad war, Kanzler Niemann decided to keep the ship there and protect the shipyard, which was later used for the creation of nomad battleships. The defenses around Schatten were increased drastically, several Rheinland battleships and cruisers were stationed around the facility to protect it from anybody who would come close. The Burghausen was one of those ships, one of the most important guard ships of the Kanzler himself. She was present the day the Bundschuh attacked the facility with a deadly strikeforce. The Bundschuh managed to destroy the Burghausen, that's what they thought at least. Although she suffered major damages and even lost parts of its front and back, the Burghausen maintained its hull. Out of fear from the crew to be eradicated, should Rheinland loose the war and al infected people get killed, they made a plan for the Kanzler to simulate the destruction of the Burghausen, which was prepared before. In the heat of the battle that was going on after the Burghausen was presumably destroyed, it got towed to the still standing Alster Shipyard in the Hamburg system, where infected Rheinwehr mechanics repaired it and sent it out of Rheinland to make sure it stays covered.
The disappearance of the Burghausen
The Burghausen in Alaska
To prevent any kinds of suspicion, the Burghausen was sent to the Alaska system along with the Kanzler himself, where it was tasked to guard the system along with D9 ships. The main task was guarding Prison Station Mitchell where the Kanzler was most of the time, as he waited for his soldiers to bring President Jacobi. Unexpectedly, a group of Exiled Liberty Navy ships with the help of Freelancer Edison Trent managed to break through the defenses in the New York system. The Burghausen could have been destroyed back then, as it had to be decided if the Kanzler would spare his biggest guard ship to defend the Alaska gate in New York, he decided to hide it with the rest of the fleet within the system just to jump on the ships at a later time. The group managed to infiltrate Mitchell and kill Kanzler Niemann, which left the Burghausen without any task or coordination, it disappeared completely from any records the BDM could make after the war. It was assumed, that the Burghausen disappeared along with several other ships that managed to flee from the brutal prosecution of infected personnel within Rheinland's and Liberty's ranks.
After the war:
The assumed Burghausen seen around
Schatten
Since the Burghausen was assumed destroyed, forces of the BDM were confused, as they saw an unidentifiable Donau cruiser around Schatten that refused to give any kind of information about itself after a gun cam shot was taken, specialists were tasked to find out, what ship that was. Through a special recognition software, that every BDM and Rheinwehr ship was equipped with, the specialists were able to clearly identify it as the assumed destroyed Burghausen, however, it was clear, that the ship was not under command of a Rheinwehr captain that was acting on his own. It was assumed, that the Burghausen was sent to infiltrate Schatten or to get information about the facility itself. The BDM sent out a prosecution wing that was supposed to crack the ship open and neutralize the infected crew to re-use the cruiser, that seemed to be repaired fully again. The prosecution wing "Alpha Vier", which consisted of a Gunboat and 3 Bergelmir light bombers, managed to find the ship within the Dresden system, where they shot the engine of the ship and moored it at Schatten. The crew was infected, every single person, and every single one got departed to the laboratories at the facility, the Burghausen got several upgrades to fit the technology of the cruisers of the modern days. Flottilenadmiral Stefan Hofmann asigned the ship to himself to use it as his own Flagship for regional command.
