How are we going to kill shieldrunning light fighters then?
On a more serious note, I don't think nerfing the damage would solve anything and if you wish to make them more situational rather than being effective at all times, simply add energy consumption. Nothing major, just something to make you think twice before shooting. Reinforced CD has 1.5k energy usage, something like half of that for snub variants would do the trick.
Although with the current state of CD tracking being so inconsistent and CMs sometimes being this ultimate tool decoying 100% of the CDs regardless of the type, angle or even range, they don't need a change.

Yeah, the problem is you need to be at full hull while cloaking. This makes cloaks useless while escaping anything except battleships since you can't have countermeasures mounted. Rip 150 mils wasted in a completly useless thing.
Firstly, it's in the rules that you cannot use Cruise Disruptors on actively cloaked ships anymore, it's an exploit and will get you punched in the mouth by the admin team for doing so.
Secondly, they do damage in the hundreds. A Liberator with a UAU8 has 8250 hull before nanobots. No one's going to get 70 cruise disruptors off on you if you try and cloak as an LF, and 70 won't kill you anyway.
The original proposal is made by someone who's mainly a (not so experienced) cap pilot, from the looks of it, hence why the proposed concept has more holes in it than a swiss cheese.
As already pointed out in the thread, reducing the ammo count won't fix anything and will only create more problems. That said, even if no "actual" fix is in order, one rather simple bandaid fix would be to remove the "problematic" properties from your average CD which makes it so supposedly OP (disrupting cloaks and jumpdrives, etc) and add a dedicated CD or missile for that purpose*, until whatever actual fix can be worked out and added to the mod.
* If for some reason having a more widely available and accessible item to the actual cloak disruptor and such is deemed necessary. If not, why not just remove those properties and be done with it?

It really kills those who TS as a combat style like my single treb redemption when fighting anything not a valor i have to EK to fight properly (ive adapted and am rather adept at this)
when im getting CD'd constantly it removes my range as it messes with my distance to my foe
as well as when i use other ships and i need to EK turn with a cap like my valor turning to catch another ship which was at its butt
Disabling EK is a huge issue for those of us who use EK on BS's
Cloak Disruptors aren't universally available, nor are they able to counter cloaks accurately all the time. Being able to stop a ship from cloaking with a CD - which is basically an EMP missile designed to temporarily restart ship systems (engines, etc) is a lot different from being able to pull a ship out of cloak after it happened.

There's no reason to change it as is.
Then cloak distruptors won't be needed in game since CDs prevent everyone from cloaking. As I said, cloak is now useless. I have a cloak on my rogue bomber. When I sit at the lane and navy comes, I try to cloak, but there's no point because the CD does something what is shouldn't do and that is distrupting cloak with just 1 missile. Why would the CD have to pull the ship out of cloak when nobody will be using the cloak because of constant CD spam and a message saying <charname> is trying to engage a cloaking device that makes the CDers pays even more attention on who's cloaking and who's not? In this case I'm really upset about buying a cloak. A solution would be leaving the shield activated while cloaking, or a better one would be a certain percentage of a damaged hull needed for cloaks not to work (like 80-90 percent of your hull making you unable to cloak)

So no.

Ammuniton does not need to be changed, it's effects do. If we're following fictional logic here, then the cruise disruptor should be performing it's normal ability to disrupt the cruisers itself rather than it's own fictional abilities as they are now.
Give people a reason to buy cloak disruptors and jump drive inhibitors, rather than letting just anyplayer mount the lolwut disruptor and go on a spamming spree playing god.
