I also didn't like the change that much, but 50 ammo is what vanilla FL had.
The real problem I see with Cruise Disruptors is that though they deal almost no hull damage, they are still used by shameless winwinwin-orcs to tear through what's left of your hull.
I'd be okay with bringing CDs back to 70 or leaving it at 50, or bringing them up to 100.
Just make them do "10" hull damage each, or less, and perhaps greater shield damage.

If you got yourself low enough to CDs to kill you, that's your own fault.

If people stopped running like little milksops with 5% hull left than there would be no need to spam CDs to finish them off.

For someone that takes so much pride in "argumenting", you should consider the possibility that you may end up on the wrong side of a game mechanic, which is one of the functions that this entire Discovery Developers sub-forum is about: balance and intended functionality.
But in my experience with Discovery, those who do not want to see are often doomed to having their eyelids torn open to force them to see...
I'd be surprised if you -don't- complain when an orc squad known specifically for shameless CD-killing starts wrecking your cheese.

Personally, I don't run from a fair duel (even 1 bomber and 1 fighter vs. my fighter ~= fair duel).
Though if a player is unable to finish someone with 5% hull left for long enough, there is definitely a skill deficiency issue.
Needless to say, game development changes that use skill deficiency as a valid "excuse" are pathetic, and harmful in the long term.

My personal gripe is when running from an enemy whilst flying a transport (esp one who just wants the blue), they deliberately cd a pob, purely so you can't dock at it.
I've been in some fights, and it has become clear that the nerf to CD ammo is a negative change that should be reversed for the sake of gameplay.
The reasons for the nerf seems very sketchy at best. In addition, the prevalence of disposable munitions such as (the sheer ammo limit of) countermeasures, mines and now missiles thanks to the (mistake that is the) auxiliary slot on VHFs mean running out of CDs, which is now more possible than ever, is a death sentence. This diminishes the enjoyment of pvp.
This change was made for the wrong reasons and has had the wrong effect. The former limit for CD ammo should be immediately restored.

Nomad Reinforced CD holds 50 ammo.
Edit: I didn't mention it in this thread, but I strongly disagree with the CD nerf because CDs have other purposes than shooting at a snub in a regenless conn duel or a snub running away at 20% hull. If anything, we need utility CDs now more than ever. For example Wasp could be given 50 damage, 150 ammo, medium range, low speed and low tracking. Hornet could be made a 100 dmg 4k range 3k m/s dumbfire CD with the purpose of cding caps quickly. These are just off the top of my head, there are many other (better) ideas.
On the serious side, I don't really mind this. I have always packed only 50 Train CDs because the ammunition is expensive, and I have never run out of them that I remember. But I mainly used them for stopping ships that cruised. I don't actively engage in fighter combat alone without considering it thoroughly, as I am not the best at flying fighters.
