I have been trying to obtain the codename weapons from the sigma 13 codename field, and i found that they werent there. the first thing that come to mind was "well, somebody already looted them. I'll wait until server restart so the weps respawn".
I left my ship there and waited.
Server restart message appears, so i log in to get them and found that they are not there. The ships are damaged, there are lots of NPC in the area, but no codenames.
Nobody looted after me as i was the first to log in.
And yes, i havent loted them before with that char.
I think that NPC patrols are making the gas bags explode, damaging the fighters and destroying the weps...

Hmm, really no idea what else could happen except that...:
u might have been relatively close, the NPCs passed, gas explodes, codes and eq. from wrecks drop, gas explodes nearby again, weaps. and eq. vanish... happened a few times tome, but not with the entire field, maybe loose a few wrecks that way (it happened b4 my eyes)... or... if you shoot with something too powerfull, they get dissintegrated too

codename weapons suck anyways. They make most other weapons useless. For what the new ships like homeworld if they can get killed by most players because almost everyone got class 10? They force ppl to get uber ships wich forces ppl to get uber guns..its a true Weapon Inflation and it screws rp because no one has respect to the houses because class 10's are so strong :(

Nope, as i scanned the wrecks from 5k away.
Dab, remember that the lvl10, according to vanilla fl, are secret projects, prototypes.
We should not make lvl10 weps buyable, but lootable from some wreck.
MAx level for buyable weps should be 9.

I've been mildly miffed by one-shot weapons since their implementation, oh so long ago. I remember the days when fights were a matter of who could aim better, rather than who could aim a single shot. - Virus
the codename weapons are seriously over rated, i have spent a while practicing drawing up mathamaticall equations as revision for upcoming exams, one subject i chose was a comparison of all lvl 10 guns (which i have expanded into an Excel dsocument to cover all weapons - i know sad) and the codnames often score lower than lvl 8 or 9 weapons ( particularly the chainguns)
