I'll give you that much. But inRP it isn't seen as a Liner, it's seen as a Carrier, this how a lot of crap started in places like Delta (Looks at Exo) Rheinland thinks of them as Capitals, that's why you can't just fly them there. Bottom line is, it's a capital class vessel in Universe, Liner Out of Universe so that Freelancers can fly it. I don't see why giving them access to Heavy weapons (As advertised on the equipment screen) I'm not saying let them have a Full heavy loadout, that's stupid. I'm just saying give them at least one slot.
The only buff I see in this ship is turning the "light battleship" slot where a Battleship flak would stay in a multifunctional one- so you can mount either a flak, either a Battleship heavy slot.

It already has one, as a couple dual Nova Warans have learned.
I'm asking for the ability to further customize Bustards; one Heavy BS slot or 2 Cruiser Heavies (the suggestions I put forward; having both would make it a little too shooty) won't really make or break the Bustard one way or another, and will offer greater customization to players.
Think of my suggestions as more along the lines of a throwback to the Democritus back when it had access to the GB Turret. Literally any non-Gallic/Nomad ID (and most, with the exception of the Xenos, had better alternatives anyway) could fly it, it had access to ONE gun above its weight class, and it was still really only used for RP purposes.
Customization is good; making ships unique is fun. Giving Bustards more toys to play with doubleplus good.

No it is quite obviously a Carrier... Cruiser... Abomination.
And I have to agree with Exo in saying they need to be changed. Standard Cruiser turret slots do not lend themselves to creativity or variety when that's the only thing other then a light battleship slot on the ship, yes. It is the only Capital class usable by freelancers and the rustles the jimmies of some older players but I don't really care. The Barge isn't coming back, it's never coming back, it was a horrible idea. The Bustard is a pretty neat all things considered, it's one of the more expensive ships, it's one of the more useful ships given it can use Fleet Jump Drives to move forces where they need to be (And as we learned in Delta, even Kidnap enemy capital ships to even or tip the scales in a fight.) I think a real heavy slot or two would benefit the ship a lot and not make it broken. As it stands, it's pretty bad in combat and could use a way to not just be a big non thrusting target.
Same here. We don't need to classify it as a Liner, to do so is *extremely* misleading. This "It's a liner so FLs can operate it" is total BS. The Zoner ID states that ships like the Whale can be operated whilst the ID is being Squawked (mounted), Why can't we add the Bustard to the list of flyable ships on FL ID? It's a Capital ship with Cruiser-class weapons and spacecraft carrying abilities. Those reasons alone are why in-rp I barred the Bustard from entering FP11 without clearance from the Administration - If it talks like a capital, Walks like a capital, shoots like a capital and LOOKS AND IDENTIFIES as a capital, then by god above, It's a capital.
Furthermore, the statement that it's weaker than other capitals is irrelevant. The Carrier series of ships in Disco aren't designed to be powerful, much like how the US Navy's carriers don't get up close and personal in Naval engagements - they don't have sufficent offensive armament, or in this case, they don't have the armor to put up a viable fight at short range.
What we could do, is instead make some of the slots be able to mount gunboat missiles. That way, you get a little more protection vs fighters, while remaining unfit for cap-vs-cap combat.
As for its current loadout, just be glad it doesnt use transport turrets. Because it could very well have been this scenario (remember the barge?).
