Well. After about three weeks of convincing, Alberts finally gave me the ok to start work on getting a live specimen for project "Perseus" I say "Specimen" But my hopes are by the time I'm finished, it'll just be "Patient"
This is kinda old fasioned, I know. But I figured keeping a written log held on an independent server, as well as voice logs of my progress would be the best course of action.
Now, as to the details of "Perseus" itself, it's long been speculated by researchers on all sides that the Slomon K'Hara, better known as Nomads, use a type of Theta wave to... Communicate, control their warforms, and more importantly, control the Incubi, the Parasitic life forms used to infect Human beings and use their Knowledge and bodies to infiltrate in society, most cases being in major political or military roles, but they aren't above taking the random victim and using them as well.
I've been researching the Theta Waves for weeks with little to no progress, until I hit paydirt, so to speak.
At the time of writing this, it's been one week. One single week since Harpy-2 was confronted by a Nomad claiming to to be separate from the K'Hara Mindshare, this is nothing new, the most infamous case is the Moph that calls itself Kessereya. This one however, attacked the K'Hara morphs that made an attack vector against Harpy-2.
The Breakthrough is that I had the foresight to place spectrometers on Harpies 1, 2, 4 and my own ship, the Garuda. And when this Nomad attacked the others, it released a strange level of Theta Waves. Sadly I wasn't able get the exact readings, but it's a start.
Project "Perseus" is a Theta Wave Emitter that, in theory should work to sever the connection between the Nomad Incubus, and the Mindshare. The power requirements however, are pretty strong. It needs to be in a ship of the Super Heavy Fighter class or above for constant power to be supplied to it.
The point of this system is to disable the Incubus and it's host allowing for study, and possible removal if possible. I've tested the Emitters on non-infected animals and even Humans and found it to be basically harmless, further testing on people like Honya who are sensitive to such things is needed however... Thanks for helping Mark!
On a side note, my journey to Inverness has been not been an easy one. Nodoka Hanamura Jae-un Song, better known as Pale Bride and the aforementioned Honya have got in their heads that I have no idea what the hell I'm doing and what the hell I'm going into, To the point where Bride almost cost me all of my progress and more importantly, the prototype Emitters when she detonated an Anti-Matter Torpedo near the Hull of the Garuda, nearly destroying it. If it wasn't for the Reinforced Hull that could put a Gunboat to shame, I might not able to write this in Inverness! Luckily, she totaled her own ship in doing so and as a result, Hanamura had to come in her transport to latch onto both of our ships. I was able to convince Nodoka to drop me off at New London so I could use Alberts Hanger for the Merchant, and in about a days worth of repair I was out and heading to Inverness again, this time without Bride stalking me through Bretonia. I know that Bride cares for me, but that AI is more protective then Cass some days. And she kept going on and on about how She's expendable.
Bride, if you can see this. You stopped being expendable when Mark fell for you. So... Stop that.
See? I'm more mature then you take me for.
Now all I need to do is wait to see if Carpenter actually is Devourer, the thought of getting paid to do something Nodoka would hate is more then enough incentive if he is. Either way, Lost Company should try and make contact, if they like money that is.

Ok. So far I have a lead. From what the Junkers told me, a lot of disappearances happen near the planet Cromarty, and that ships with garbled IFF's show up from that area. Put two and two together and you got the same encounter Harpy-2 had when he was escorting Pale Bride. Now comes the hard part, catching one of the slippery suicidal bastards.
Now onto the the plan!
The Ideal circumstance is running into a single Infected. Given that they have a tendency for killing themselves we have to have the Emitters running as combat begins, downside is, the power drain is significant enough that I'll lose access to most auxiliary based weapons, Well... The Maxim wouldn't be effected, but that's terrible for this encounter, so I'll bring the Nova anyway just in case I REALLY need a Anti-Matter projectile. Now once I get it inside the Garuda is when Cassiopeia takes over, If the Emitters don't do their job that's what the turrets set in the Cargo hold and even this cabin are for. The K'Hara really like the Human element, they think it makes things easier for them, solution remove as much of the Human Element as you can. Cassiopeia is for the most part is going act like the Commanding Officer of the ship, just in case one of those squids manages to zombify me.
Transportation
If catching one is hard enough, how the hell would you transport it you ask? Easy! I just took one of the Medical pods from the Hecate's Medbay and had it installed into the Garuda and built a second Emitter and installed it, now what'll happen is when the Wild is subdued, Cassiopeia will take control of a pair of Droids that I've dubbed "Igg" and "Oog" because (Funny story) the first time Cass ever tried using a drone she kinda bumbled about like a drunken ninny, so I gave her bodies equally funny names.
Back on track, she'll take control of the drones and move the body into the pod, it's at that point that we can (In theory) transport the Wild for further research and possible removal of the Parasite. My end goal for the "Project Perseus."

Well, today marks my first encounter with a K'Hara Incubus, three of them infact. I am currently nursing a Gas Giant sized headache, not only from the unconventional nature of what I can only describe as "Attempted murder via Migraine" But from the absolute mess left over from first exposure.
Once I arrived near Cromarty, Cass picked a Jump Hole anomaly, only slightly off, turns out that's where the Wild drag people off when they want to have their way with them. Because upon getting close to it a formation of CTE-Series ships with Garbled IFF's, oh and I can't forget the Weapons of Nomadic origins, or the screaming in my head... "One of these things is not like other." But yeah, what I wanted to catch finally showed themselves, only problem was it's 3x the amount. In terms of fighting skill they "SUCKED!" But they kept moaning and screaming at me, glad Cass was there to make sure things didn't go further south... At first.
After the first two were spaced and silenced we took on the straggler, and a few blasts later he got brought into the hold. As to what happened after that... It might just be better to leave the camera footage here...
"The cargo door opens and the escape pod almost rockets in. Before it even has the chance to settle the front of the pod flies towards the bulkheads separating the the Cargo hold from the Command cabin, The Pilot steps out,
looking almost confused for a moment. The pilot then begins to scream at claw at is back."
Birdie: Cass! What the hell's going in there?
Cassiopeia: I-I'm not sure! The Incubis is generating massive amounts of heat and Theta waves!
"The Pilots back bulges out! the Camera changes to thermal imaging showing incredible levels of heat coming from the pilots back, and after one more bone chilling scream, the Incubus explodes."
Cassiopeia: *Screams*
Birdie: Did-did the Nomad just... Pop!?
Cassiopeia: ...Yes, no life signs from either the pilot or the Incubus...
Birdie: *Sigh* Goddamn it... Next time, try a lower intensity ok Cass?
Cassiopeia: Yes Birdie... I'm sorry.
Birdie: It's not your fault Cass... We never could've expected that to happen.
Birdie: Use the drones to clean up that mess and dispose of the body...
Cassiopeia: Yes Birdie.
Today has been one upset after another... Hopefully tomorrow will have better results.

Ok. It's been about two days since my last entry... And I'm regretting ever thinking of these emitters.
Now if someone else is reading this, 1) How the hell did you find these logs. And 2) I didn't die/get infected due to this project... So "Hah"
Anyway, we finally caught one of the Wild, after five failures, one of which damaging the Garuda's bay via Grenade (Told you they had a habit of suicide) We hit jackpot... Or so we thought. The emitter actually worked as planned, the Incubus entered a dormant state, so we loaded the pilot into the pod and took her to the Junker base to watch what would happen, nice thing about Junkers, they aren't nosy when you pay for a mooring spot. Things were going great until the Body started to shut down. As it turns out the Incubus forces a symbiotic relationship with the host, when this one got denied it's control and put into what's pretty much a Nomad coma the body was no longer getting the neural signals it needs to survive. The closest I can describe it is like Honya and Brides bodies, virtually useless without the QPU, or in this case Incubus allowing the information to be sent through to the rest of the body, the pilot and Incubus both died that night, had the corpse put into a makeshift coffin and sent it into the star.
This whole trip was a waste of time, and could've cost me my friendship with Nodoka and the AI sisters. I'm just going to be glad to leave Inverness now.
