I play Maltesian more than everyone else and I want them to get less unlawfull; that is a corsair thing. I see the outcast more like Gallia; outcast by the other, but not like Gallia we do not want revange. I really like the new Maltesian way of becoming more lawfull to some states like Bretonia with values that are not the corsair's like violence. I have allways ssen the Maltesian as the "good" Hispania and the Corsairs as the "bad" Hispania like Federal Rheinland and Hessians.

Because slavery is good...?
I honestly always saw it as the opposite, although the fact that Corsairs frequently target Bretonian assets does bother me. Still, most of what the Corsairs do, I feel they do so out of necessity. They really got the short end of the stick when they split off from their Hispanic brothers by settling on Crete. The Corsair home world is an infertile wasteland with food being scarce even to this day. Coupled with over-population, and it's no wonder the Corsairs turned to piracy out of necessity. They often times feel like the underdogs of Sirius, especially when so many different factions seem to want to shoot them. Is it so evil to target trade convoys with the intent of ensuring survival, rather than ensuring a comfortable or even opulent lifestyle?
On the other hand, the Outcasts had the choice of keeping their Cardimine to themselves and any who willingly sought it. It wasn't their ancestor's faults necessarily that they got stuck with it, though the life extending properties made it fairly beneficial, despite having to have a constant supply of it or die from withdrawal. But because the Outcasts know it's a genetic-altering drug and promote it's spread to effectively enslave its users to the distributors, usually for monetary or territorial gains, is pretty morally questionable in my eyes. Yes, they often ally with Bretonia, which is a lawful entity. But is one good deed enough to counter-balance a galaxy-wide drug empire?
Not only this, but the Outcasts openly embrace the concept of slavery, both for reproductive purposes and for nearly free labor (Still gotta feed 'em). Now, granted, there is technically a way to do slavery in which those who are the slaves can basically acknowledge "I will work overtime every single day of my life in exchange for shelter and refuge" as a sort of symbiotic, mutually agreed upon relationship. But usually, the way that slavery seems to be depicted in Maltese culture feels like "How can we sucker some sap who wants his fix into a compromising position for cheap labor?"
Anyways, that's my take on the Outcast/Corsair situation. It's just interesting to see the different perspectives of other players, especially those who primarily play a faction you may view as "evil."

This is a horrible outlook for absolutely any faction in Discovery, there are no factions which are universally good or bad. Both Outcasts and Corsairs do bad things, which is why they are perceived as unlawful, but I would reason that for each of them what they do seems good or necessary. And I'm absolutely opposed to either of these factions to start getting lawful alliances and getting, as you put it, "more lawful". Outcasts getting friendly with Bretonia is bad enough.
If I'm not mistaken, Corsairs also used to embrace the concept of slavery but have more recently done away with it for reasons beyond my knowledge. Corsairs do gain some malevolence points here however, as they hold human life in about the same regard as they hold the life of your average ant; essentially everyone is an expendable redshirt, we've got tons more back home. What I believe was a Vanilla infocard described a regular Corsair initiation ritual involved new pilots going into a highly radioactive field in an unshielded fighter with orders to retrieve an artifact of some kind and then take it back to Crete. Lotta people aren't going to come back from that, radiation aint friendly.
Outcasts enforce slavery because someone has to tend to the fields of incredibly sharp grass, and if doing so helps the unwashed masses become as enlightened as the rest of them are - so be it. As I've said before, they do get some benevolence points back by regularly freeing slaves and bringing them into Maltese families, but still: slavery aint gonna win you many friends.

Heyyy, I remember that bar rumor! In fact, I used that very rumor as a basis for my old Corsair character a number of years ago. Rubio Fortunato - He survived the initiation of flying into the nebula housing the Omicron Kappa JH, but had a run-in with the nomads in the radioactive portion of the cloud wherein his cockpit blew open and he was exposed to some of the rads pretty badly; melted part of his face and caused a permanent snake-like lisp. Back when furry characters were still a thing, I thought I was a pretty darn clever teenager for having come up with a reason for a fully human character sounding like some weird, creepy snake Corsair. Lol. I had a few people threaten to cut out Rubio's tongue xD
Sorta dramatic, but I think Rubio was about as extreme as I ever wrote, as far as character backgrounds are concerned. Most are typically Average Joes seeking to make a name for themselves.

This is indicative of an overall perception problem with the factions in discovery: the fact that there are no "good guys" in the overall grand scheme of things. This is why the politics of Disco can be and are so interesting: everything is a grey area, and the best factions have and encourage both "good" and "bad" behavior.
Not everything is sunshine and rainbows:
Liberty may seem to be and regularly portray itself as a den of freedom and happiness but something a lot of people dont seem to know corporate slavery is a common problem: with many prisons populated with people forced to do labor with their only crime being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and their arrests being largely to fill a prison population quota. In some regards, being sent off to Malta after being given life in a Liberty prison for no real reason could be seen as a step up in life. At least on Malta you have the chance to be granted freedom.
Kusari is similar with most of the intra-government conflict involved in the house backed by megacorporations such as Samura, and the closest thing to "good guys" within the house are the blood dragons, a group regarded as terrorists that regularly work with and consort with actual terrorists in the form of the GC that are aligned with the Outcasts in a major way.
Rheinland is a nation on the verge of collapse due to massive political uprisings and overall an huge disregard for significant portions of the population's wishes.
I know less about the latter 2 of houses but the point remains: this is how you write an interesting political climate: make everyone stand in a morally grey-area, and give the 'baddies' backing for seeming to be the 'good guys' in some instances. Digital Anvil knew what they were doing.
