But now there are 2 Gallic factions: MRG| and AG]>
Player groups can't make up for a lack of indies. MRG| and AG]> are not large enough to fill the playerbase demand of Gallic War PvP. And as Thunderer said, half of MRG| is composed of BAF players.
Why not merge the Gallic groups then? Why not recreate GRN|? And don't answer me "OORP hate".
You're not reading what I've said. Both MRG| and AG]>, regardless if they are separate or merge (I think I've only seen 1 AG]> ship in the past three months) are not large enough to fill the playerbase demand of Gallic War PvP. MRG| in essence, is a recreation of GRN|, with support from BAF because 90% of GRN| had stopped playing the game and moved onto other things.
The Gallic side needs an influx of fresh players. The existing GRN players aren't enough on their own to solve the problem.
Well, keeping 2 faction divided with the same ID and IFF doesn't help. For this I asked for a merge. Then, as told before, the activity depends on how much "interesting" is the Gallic ZoI. So the main problem is to make Gallic worlds and frontiers more active; creating admin/player events for example.

The NPC faction isn't divided. Both player factions log when possible, and it still isn't enough. Merging them together wouldn't make a difference. And as I said events are pointless because if the ship creation is too much of a pain, It'll only be the current enthusiasts or existing ships who attend, not fresh ships created by players new to GRN.
The ZoI is already interesting. It's just that the effort it takes to play in that ZoI is far more substantial than other IDs which offer similar action with less time-consumption when it comes to making a ship. Making a ship for Gallia feels all too similar to ship creation before restarts, and that was horrendous.
What players want to do is to receive rewards, and decent! If you do events, (better admin events), there's the possibility to receive good rewards. Time ago I suggested to set ANY frontier system (Omicron Delta, Leeds, Omicron Xi, Tau-44, Bering etc etc...) with "warzone" rules, with 30 minutes instead of 2 hours and an automated reward per kill but as always nobody listen me. You have to increase rewards and activity to attract new players and meanwhille to start I suggest also to merge as more factions as possible.
How do you give rewards to players that don't exist? There was an Orkney event, a Magellan event (which might still be ongoing) and they haven't had a long-term impact on the GRN playerbase. The Sirian side does not need rewards for people to log, therefore it is only logical to see how that success is achieved and apply it to the GRN - ergo, make the restart and ship creation better.
I always saw Orkney so very full when the event is on. I don't know anything regarding a Magellan event active now.
Events should be multiple (Not once a time like, "Finished Orkney event, now Dabadoru event") and that must last for more time, like one time. Rewards should be increased more.
That was because no opponement logged, and Core players are almost like Gallic players.
Events, if made good, can make long-term activity, right because a system is different than Others. If anyone want to PvP can go in 30 minutes systems, if anyone want to RP, it can go in 2 hours systems.
Perhaps one of the biggest killers for Gallic activity is that they are basically the Big Bad Evil Guys that many players may not wish to play. On the flip side, it seems that many people seem to prefer Bretonia or even Liberty over Gallia because Bretonia and Liberty are viewed by many to be the Good Guys (Or, at least that's how things used to be). I mean, when you hold an 800 years old grudge against the forefathers of the Houses to blame for your initial sleeper ship being destroyed, how do you paint Gallia as anything but the Bad Guys?
Maybe Gallia needs to ceasefire or something and offer to help build Bretonia back up instead of trying to conquer it? I dunno, I'm just trying to stir up some ideas, here.

It's more about people willing to be the good guy, regardless of their familiarity with certain houses. New players choose Liberty Navy over Rogues or Outcasts because it's more comfortable to be the nice guy and it's a safer option if you don't know the environment.
