When i join Discovery, the first 2 things i noticed, and was told about were:
- This is a Role Play server
- What happens inRP changes the outcome in the game and the other way around
This was supported by the developers as well.
Q: What happened inRP in game, over Aland and Falster, did it come to this conclusion? Cause no one in Bretonia ever came close to 1K of Aland, with RP in game, to justify this outcome.
So, all the drama from the previous 3 months with Admins vs Devs, was just so this can happen? All the hours and stress and RP in game, for nothing. All the players who were involved are outraged. Discord channels are raging with this outcome, and its only been a couple of hours.
Reconsider your story and implementation, and don't forget: This is a roleplay server, what you do in game, changes the outcome and story. Not what you do on the forum or what the story team decides. If what the story team decides to do, happens in game, then change the info displayed to: This is the story teams server, what they say, goes. Play at your own risk.
The Disco player base is thinning of players, but not of the bad seeds.
Gosh, I knew it. Rheinland and ALG is completely made up the fools gold with zero input of the Rheingov. And here I was actually thinking it was potentially the only player-made decision and avoided slandering anyone over it until I got more info knowing that I could be dead wrong.
Now that's one interesting piece of information, Geoff. Well, well, well...
I just hope things like this don't repeat now and we have to deal with such messy things in every corner and over every conflict in Sirius.

Hey I suggested we use Core ships to secretly take Aland before open hostilities (black op), got shot down.
Why bother when a deal's already been cut? All in all, the entire thing caused me to want to detatch from the situation.
I'm a pretty ardent bretonia side guy and was thinking there's no way it could be pulled off while Falster is still there. Sorry but when the changes are this hollow, why bother? Why bother destroy Southampton only to make Bretonia take Aland in a ridiculous fashion? we were getting lots of reasons to pew, NL was going great (until it was allowed to go stagnant!). My problem is, I only have genuine interest in genuinely freely developing events. The scripted jumps of the war were bad enough, we had some room win battles between them, but now its starting to go crazy. But we all knew that forcing the story changes was one of the underlying issues of the dev consolidation.
So does everyone enjoy? The IMG either collaborates oorp and it is all pointless pews, or they had no choice and were probably a little bilnd sided. The bottom line for me is whether IMG really cares or has a choice, and if not then we all make a big deal out of nothing in the end. With all due respect, there was a great opportunity for a related story event which got replaced by an infocard.

For that, I apologise on behalf of the lads and assure you all that particular cases were bought to my attention, they have been dealt with internally.
If you have an issue with anything, my door is open.
With all that said however, I must express my own personal disappointment in regards to the treatment of this whole affair. Particularly towards the Bretonian player base. I firmly believe that we made considerable effort on our part to back up Bretonia's involvement. I also firmly believe that not everyone agrees with that and thus, I refer to my previous statement about my door being opened if anyone has concerns.
No concerns, really, but observations. Sir Isaac Newton once said that "for every action is an equal and opposite reaction." Bretonia spent a lot of ships and manpower taking Aland and Canaria. When I was an admin, Bretonia decided to make a non-story push against Rheinland and Rheinland did much the same. The result? Liberty took Westfalen and Gallia took LD-14. Since, Westfalen is back with Rheinland and LD-14 was returned although Gallic occupation re-took it. My point? The back door was unlocked. Perhaps someone took advantage? I know that if I was Gallic, I would!
I also know that part of the push into 49 was to force the Zoners to pick a side, a long time quest for many here. Since I can't pew pew worth compost, I won't bother. I will take my stuff elsewhere OUT of Bretonian influence. If Zoners take up arms versus their oppressors, remember, they didn't choose said oppressors as enemies, the oppressors did and many can fight or will be willing to.

As we continued to RP, I started to have a bad feeling that behind the scenes things may have already been decided and that our involvement would prove pointless. I wanted to push for it anyway, as I saw the activity we could have made. Looking at the infocard for Olympia, it seems like Core's involvement in this thing has been completely omitted (even when it makes more sense than CR for them to be there assisting Bretonia, I must add).
Hella lame honestly. We were so excited to use our ZoI to create something interesting out of this. I'm not going to blame Bretonia for this, I think we're all victims here.

Orders involvement was pretty much entirely ignored as well, only the factions involved give it any recognition.
So, were the CO2 Scrubbers (sucks in CO2) used or was it the Emergency Sprinkler System (full of water to put out Fires)?
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person

This is pretty much spot on. Exactly what should have happened here.
