THE FIFTH COLUMN Liberty Roleplay Event - Part 1 of 2
OVERVIEW
The Battleships Fairmont and Whitefield have been conducting wargames in the Virginia system for the past month. Thanks to the construction of the Alberta-Poole jump corridor opened by Ageira, New London has held far past the projections of house military analysts. Even so, the situation in Bretonia remains a stalemate at best. Liberty Naval Command has decided that additional reinforcements are a necessity to ensure victory and the survival of the original four Sirian colonies.
To this end, the Fairmont, Whitefield, and their respective battlegroups have now been ordered to the front line. The fifth column of Liberty warships to enter the enter the Alberta Super Gate since its activation five months ago, their push represents the single largest concentration of Liberty forces to enter the Bretonian theater since the Concord, Ottawa, and Gettysburg made the initial jump through the gate.
DETAILS
This event is a little different. It is not a combat event, and all IDs are allowed to participate. The Fairmont and Whitefield will be titans, and it is intended to be a relaxing, character building, roleplay oriented journey from point A to point B. This does not mean that assailants are unwelcome, but the primary force should consist of the Titans and their escorts. Both titans will make it to the gate, but feel free to harass their escorts.
The event will begin in Virginia, and end in Alberta once the Fairmont and Whitefield battlegroups have been escorted to their destination.

I'm confused, so what actually is the objective? What's the end game here? Players log in and kill the escorts/ships over and over again until people get bored?

It's a roleplay event, not a PvP event.
The LN ships are being moved to Bretonia, this is an event to see and be part of that moving ingame, instead of the ships just warping around during patches

What is the point in the assailants then? This sounds like on rails but with craftier wording. I'm just struggling to figure out what the objective of a hostile ID would be here other than scoring cheap blues.
It's nice that the community is being included in the moving of NPC assets. Plus a RP event like this is a welcome change of pace in my opinion.
[01.06.2017 03:20:18] CONSOLE: Base Iejima Station is under attack by (TC)-Jiro.Yutani!
[01.06.2017 03:20:23] Death: (TC)-Jiro.Yutani was put out of action by a hostile vessel.
[01.06.2017 03:20:48] (TC)-Jiro.Yutani: Ignore the Console, Mistakes were made.

Roleplay. Fighting. There is no set objective. Decide what you want to do for yourself.
