Samantha opened the door into the hallway of the large hovercraft. The last 24 hours had been very busy for her, meeting her father and apologizing to everyone including the bounty hunter who had survived. She was exhausted and still couldn't sleep because of her reoccuring nightmare which she had no clue whether it was a memory or just a dream. She headed down the luxury hallway passing by several open doors with mercenaries and bounty hunters. Her father must still be uneasy about her since they were still hanging around even if the number of them had decreased. Eventually she came into an open room with that was very odd to look at. Aside from the walkway and railing in the middle from one end to the other, the rest of the room was made of glass and she could see the world below her and the clouds to the sides of them. Her gaze left the beauty and stopped upon the boy from before. She quickly descended the staircase in the middle to the lower platform and walked quietly up to him as he slept on the couch. She sat down in front of him and curled into a ball, pressing slightly into him hoping that the comfort of someone nearby would drown out the nightmares.
"Hey, Luna won't be happy if she see's you took her spot when she comes back." Samantha looked up at the boy who was looking down at her.
"I'm sorry Frozen, I wasn't aware you were waiting for her." She started to get up but the boy grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap.
"What wrong?" He started to scratch behind her ears which she quickly showed appreciation for by purring.
"Well, I keep having nightmares. Is it my blood that's doing it?" He seemed as though he was thinking very hard before he responded.
"I'm pretty sure that your blood isn't causing the nightmares, you're probably just scared by something is all."
"If my blood isn't causing the nightmares, why am I having a transfusion?" She politely set her hands into her lap awaiting the answer.
"Well, there's a long definition and a short definition, and since you might not understand the long definition, i'll give you the short one." Samantha nodded and accepted that she was young still and might not understand even the short definition. "Your blood has become so cold and Frozen that it causes problems with your cells and the whole division process. In other words, not only can you not heal wounds without aid of some medical equipment, but you cannot age."
"Oh, well that does make sense then." Samantha could see where staying seven years old had it's disadvantages. "So I could basically live forever?"
"Sort of, so long as you had heart transplants or special heart surgery." He lifted his shirt and showed a scar across his chest that was almost healed. "I used to have the same blood as you, but I was lucky the concentration in my blood was very small." He lowered his shirt. "I am worried that the concentration in your blood may make it impossible to have a permanent transfusion. Your body may already have adapted to making the new type of blood." He carefully turned her towards him and removed the bandage on her arm. "These scars should heal quickly when you have your blood removed. Our family is full of quick healers as you may remember my dislocated arm."
Samantha looked down at her terribly scarred arm and felt that if she did have the scars removed that she might find something under them. As far as she knew it would be plain skin underneath. She felt the ground shake as the hovercraft began to lower itself down and she watched as the ground rose up towards the glass. When they finnally touched down, Samantha replaced the bandage on her arm and hopped down off of Frozen's lap. "Well, thank you for telling me, it makes me feel better."
"Do you want me to carry you inside? I know that not much oxygen goes through that blood of yours." He held out his hands.
"No thank you, i'm sure I can handle myself." She looked around for a moment in confusion. "But, how about you lead the way." She smiled and waited for him to pass by her as he snickered before following him out of the ship.
The ground was full of gravel and the ocean that the hovercraft had landed on was very gentle at the moment. A storm was approaching but it would take some time before it got to them. Samantha looked around the coastline before looking up the hill towards a large white building with a medical cross on it. Around the building there were a few mercenaries and bounty hunters talking and relaxing, among them there was Jason who was showing off his new weapon. Angel Eyes was relaxing next to him when he spotted Samantha and waved over at her. She was happy to wave back as she continued to follow Frozen up the path to the medical facility. He opened the door and let her go in first like the gentleman he was. She bowed to him and smiled, giggling a bit before entering inside the white halls.
------------
"Looks like rain." Jason pointed up towards the approaching thundercloud.
"Yeah, it's coming a bit fast don't you think?" Angel Eyes responded to him and stood up walking toward the edge of the shore.
"Well, it is the coastline." Jason walked forward as well, his heavy boots making him sink slightly in the gravel.
"It is....so where's the wind?" Angel Eyes looked closely at the thundercloud, having quite a bad feeling about it.
Samantha sat and waited on the couch in the main office of the medical facility. Most of the hallways were white and clean giving her a sort of empty feeling as did the room she sat in. Frozen sat next to her reading a news magazine to which she was unsure of what the title was, whether it was GNN or something else, she was unsure. A moment later her father appeared from one of the doors escorting a flat bed with a man in bandages on it down the hallway towards another door. Her father appeared busy and she still hadn't had the time to properly give him a hug as well she had no clue of how to think of him. Since her memories of her father had turned out to be her memories of her mother, she now thought towards the memories of her mother which had to have been the memories of her father. The thoughts confused her and she decided that it was best just to relax which she did, lying her head on Frozen's lap.
"Alright, the doctor will see you now Ms. Grey." A lady appeared out of nowhere from behind the counter and fixed her glasses.
She was upset that she had just begun to relax, but of course, excited to get the transfusion over with. She stood up and followed the lady into an adjacent room her tail waving with excitement. She was instructed to sit on a bed that seemed to hover in the air which she did with only slight difficulty. She smiled happily as she moved her legs forward and backwards watching as Frozen sat down on a stood in the corner of the room. "Is this going to hurt?"
"I'm pretty sure they're going to put you to sleep." He snickered slightly. "You won't be feeling anything at all."
A moment later and a doctor came in and began to take a look a her, taking her temperture and testing her reflexes which all came out slightly normal. Then the doctor asked her to hold out her finger. She did so and recieved a small sharp pain as the doctor took some of her blood. Then the doctor abrutly left and did not come back for a long time. Samantha heard a small beeping sound as Frozen reached into his pocket and pulled out a small phone.
"Hey, whats up?" He smiled of course, but a moment later he kind of turned from a smile to a look of disbelief. "Sure, yeah she'll be fine in here." He clicked the phone shut and stood up. "I'll be right back. Angel Eyes needs to show me something." He leaned forward and handed her his phone. "Call me if you need me for any reason at all. Dad's phone number is in there as well."
"Ok, don't take too long." Samantha felt worried very suddenly and watched as Frozen rushed out of the doorway and down the hall. She watched as several staff ran past the door as well as her father. She wondered what was happening and if she didn't feel the importance of her blood transfusion was top priority, she would have gone to look as well.
------------
Frozen stepped outside underneath a dark cloud and quickly ran down to Angel Eyes who was standing at the top of the hill just behind a wall near the gravel. "Whats going on?"
"Look." He pointed up towards the sky which was blackened by clouds, several flashes of thunder, and what appeared to be an incoming storm.
"So? It's going to rain, that's not very important."
"Look again, there's something up in those clouds." Jason commented and pointed slightly more directly at what exactly it was they meant."Looks like a trade lane sort of." He watched as the object continued to get closer. The storm seemed to be caused by the tradelane like object. It continued to close until it suddenly stopped above the gravel shoreline.
"So are we just going to stand here like idiots gaping at something flying in the sky or what?" Frozen's father suddenly appeared behind him. "Just because you've never seen it before doesn't mean you should just...stand there!" As if jarred by his words, the object began to activate. A small glowing ring appeared in the middle of it and the clouds began to seperate slightly. A moment later the four small objects began to glow with a great intensity and the similarity dissapeared as they began to spin around. Frozen noticed that they were attached to something else with small poles and other similiar objects that were spinning as well.
"They look like...magnets." Angel Eyes finnally spoke up and just as he did something came into clear sight. It appeared as though it might hit the planet with such a force that there would be nothing left of them, but, just as it hit the final circle of objects, it slowed to almost a halt. It appeared to be a very large suit of powered armor. When the head of it had left the circle of energy, it dropped like a rock and slammed into the gravel barely staying on it's feet. For the moment it appeared to be inactive, but a bolt of lightning came down and stuck it several times before it began to humm.
"Ah ****, everyone get behind some cover!" Jason didn't wait for the thing to start up, instead he shouldered his new favorite weapon and aimed, gripping as tightly as he could and watched as a round tore the sky itself as it traveled directly into the activating machine's chest. It had enough force to knock the machine over and for a moment it looked like it was dead.
"You idiot! We're not told to fire first! We're mercenaries remember?" Angel Eyes slapped Jason on the back of the head.
"It's not dead." Frozen stated aloud.
"What? He just slammed that hunk of metal."
Frozen turned toward him, his eyes glowing yellow. "Did you hear me? It's not dead. When you ride in one of those for several years you know when 'It's dead'." Angel Eyes looked shocked and his eyes looked up toward the soundless machine. The humming came again as thought a generator was being charged up and the humanoid armor gripped the gravel as it sat up in defiance. Several yellow lights began to glow around the chest and head area and it became clear that the shot hadn't even dented it.
"I just shot that thing with my new rail gun! It's almost as good as a MAG. BULL****!" Jason slammed his fist into the wall and chipped it. "Even tanks get dented by rail guns!"
"Well, tank's are made out of almost all metal but other than that, they're basically the same. Filled with hydraulic fluid and cryo fluid." He pointed to canisters on it's back. "And only people with cryo blood can survive in that cold temperature."
Jason stood up with his foot on the wall and his other one planted firmly on the ground. The powered armor stood fully up and it became clear that it too had a shoulder mounted weapon. "How about this you son of a bitch!" Jason fired another round and this one landed dead center in the powered armor's forehead. It only served to send the machine's head back slightly before it looked forward again. "No way..."
The machine suddenly began to speak in a semi sort of human cyborg way. "BFM - unit deploying. Primary objective......Ensure Experiment Remains Prepared." The powered armor took a step forward with a very slow and exageratted step. The shoulder mounted weapon began to glow as the top part filled with water, the gun acted as a sort of hotplate and the water began to boil. A yellowish fluid was then injected into the cylinder and the water became a mix of hot yellowish liquid.
"What the hell is that?" Jason looked over toward Frozen.
"In simplified terms, a fireball cannon."
"Ah, ****." Jason turned around toward all the men that were taking cover. "Open Fire!" A moment later the air was filled with gunfire of all kinds, the shots only served to slow the machine in it's path. It showed no signs of stopping as the mixture of fluids began to glow a bright color from the incredible heat, the gun was also glowing red hot at certain areas. An odd colored liquid began to pump into the compartment and Jason knew they were out of time.
------------
Samantha smiled as the doctor patted her on the head. "Well now all I have to do is get ready for the operation. I'm sure everything is ok out there." The doctor backed up out of the doorway and was just about to turn around when the space that was behind him lit up a bright orangish color. Samantha could feel the heat on her face and had to close her eyes for a moment before opening them. A moment later she opened her eyes and spotted the doctor who appeared unharmed, but as she watched him fall down she noticed that the fireball had melted more than half of him. Samantha felt her stomach twist and she almost threw up, forcing herself to close her eyes and look away.
--------------
Jason looked over to his left where the wall had literally been turned to lava and resolidified. He had been only inches away from the same fate and literally felt grooves in his armor where it had been partially melted. He resumed his Kneeling stance and replaced his hand on his weapon, watching as the power armor began to get close to them."How many times can that gun fire?"
"I have no idea." Frozen stated as he looked over the wall.
"But I do." Angel Eyes stated as he ran out directly in front of the suit of powered armor. "Over here tin can!" He waved his arms and of course was noticed by the suit of armor which stood only a few feet over him. A blue fluid quickly sprayed out and over the entire gun followed by it immediately heating up again, water injecting into the canister again. The yellow fluid quickly appeared as the gun aimed directly at him.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Jason didn't fire for fear he might hit Angel Eyes.
"Comon, you can hit me with that big old gun of yours!" He watched as the red fluid began to pump in and thats when he pulled out his pistol and opened fire on the coolant canister next to the gun. It burst open and coolant spilled all over the hot gun causing the metal to crack and fail, the heated liquid began to spill out slightly, but mostly stayed put right inside the cylinder. A moment later the liquid turned completely oranged and exploded causing the massive power armor to lose it's whole left side and fall over on it's right side. Blue liquid spilled all over as the powered armor's arm fell off and a moment later, exploded as well.
"Yeah! That's using your head Angel Eyes." Jason shouted as he ran up to the machine and kicked it hard in the shin.
"Hey, why did it's arm explode?"
"Failsafe so that it's technology doesn't fall into our hands." Frozen's father stated.
"Then why didn't it's body explode?" Jason backed away from it in case it did and after a moment, the blue fluid stopped leaking and the armor began to glow again. Using it's one good arm, the suit of armor began to stand up again.
"You're kidding me....it's head it half gone!" Jason lifted his gun up but before he could fire, the powered armor unexpectedly grabbed the weapon and crushed it while it was still on his shoulder.
"Pri.Pri.Pri. Mary objective complete. Retrieving target." The powered armor lifted Jason and calmly tossed him to the side. Another one of the cannon's rose from the it's remaining shoulder and began to charge. This time however, the canister on the other side had drained out in an attempt to replace lost cryo fluid.
-------------
Samantha had managed to step out over the dead man and looked into the burnt hallway. The walls had been charred or melted and the remainder of the facility had been blown to nothingness. She looked down the hallway towards the exit of the facility where the fireball had come from and spotted something glowing. A moment later and it stepped into the light, a suit of armor with half of it's body missing. On the remaining half of the body she spotted it's name, Bold Full Metal. It rung a bell in her head but she couldn't think for the moment as it drew closer to her, something on it's shoulder was glowing an intense yellow color.
"Come with me Ms. Grey." The armor held out it's hand as though to grab her but she quickly ducked into a seperate room that the suit of armor had trouble fitting in. It dissapeared for a moment and it got quiet. A second later and the ceiling to the place disintegrated as another fireball burst over her head. She crawled as far into the corner as she could go and watched as the terrifying armor approached her. "You must fullfill your destiny Ms. Grey." She could hear people at the window screaming something about being unable to get inside and to climb onto the roof, but Samantha could only see the armor getting closer to her.
"No! I don't want to go with you!"
"Samantha, you know me....we went to school together. Come with me and everything will be alright." She recognized the voice and she felt even more afraid. She noticed behind the armor a man in bandages slowly sliding closer to the two, she had to make sure that it didn't notice.
"Oh no, what have they done to you?" The armor seemed shocked for a moment as though it had actually felt what she had said.
"They made me stronger. I must support my clan and you must support your clan like your mother did. She refused and she had to die." The armor put it's hand out again. "Samantha, I don't want to have to kill you too."
"You owe me a bottle of alcohol AND a C4 charge." Samantha could hear a small clicking sound followed by a large explosion. She watched as the armor's chest exploded causing it to fall over.
"Sa.Sa.Sa.Sa.Samantha......They...will...be back." The powered armor finnally began to fade for a moment before it began to glow a light blueish color followed by a small explosion over several parts of it's body, enough to destroy all forms of technology, but not enough to create havoc.
"I'm sorry Bold. My mother told me, you had died in your mech's explosion, but I guess not. I hope now you can finnally rest." Samantha looked up towards the man with the bandages all over his body as he approached her.
"What do we do now?" Samantha asked while she sat on a stone just outside the ruined lab. She was covered in the hydralic and cryogenic fluid that had burst out of the powered armor when the C4 had gone off. She could also feel bits of flesh and see the mutated blood in her hair. Somehow, only the most disgusting sites seemed to set her off. The ocean waves were crashing against the shore as what appeared to be a real storm approaching, but no one wanted to take that chance.
"We'll explain when we get on board and are heading back towards the spaceport." Her father stated as he gave her a signal to follow.
"Ok." She stood up and thought it would sound odd calling him father, but she still obeyed him like she would her imaginary father. She stepped onboard the ship before a few of the remaining mercenaries did. The bounty hunters had the feeling they weren't really hunting a bounty anymore, but of course were paid like mercenaries. Samantha followed her father to a room with a bathtub in it and of course, she was instantly revulsed and almost didnt' step inside.
"Relax, it's got a shower. Just thought you needed one." He stepped out behind her and Frozen appeared at the doorway.
"Here, brought you some clothes." He sat down on a chair next to the doorway and closed the door. For a moment Samantha thought he was just waiting to say something, but then she frustratedly looked over at him.
"I'm not getting undressed with you in the room."
"You think I wanna see or something?" He stood up and pulled a large screen window used for changing and wrapped it around the doorway."I'm just making sure no one comes to take you away is all."
Although still frustrated with him, she decided she didn't care that much and she undressed and placed her ruined clothes in a box before entering the shower curtains. "So, what do we do now?"
"Well, when you're all 'squeky clean', i'll discuss it with you."
-------------
"Alright, I don't want to have to fight another one of those things, so we're heading out to space ok?" Angel Eyes gripped the sticks to operate the hovercraft forward and gritted his teeth looking at the storm to his right.
"Yeah, seems I was wrong when I said I'd rather fight something without shields." Jason laughed slightly and sat back further in his chair. The door to the cabin opened and Samantha's father came in and took a good long second to sit down in one of the chairs in the deck room. "How about that fight there?"
"Yeah, how's your new toy coming along there?" He laughed slightly at the wreckage that was down by Jason's side.
"Shut up. I guess i'll have to try and buy one of those gauss rifles or a MAG."
"Why don't you buy a Rave Cannon?" Angel Eyes let out a small chuckle, remembering when Jason thought it was an actual gun.
"I remember that whole incident like it was yesterday. You tricked me into taking that thing to some party and no one could stop laughing at me. That gun had to be the most useless piece of trash I ever used."
"Not much of a difference between a gun that makes Rave music and one that doesn't make sound at all when both their purposes should be to kill?" He point to his gun.
"OK enough. Lets focus on getting out of here. I dont' want another, 'stick Jason to the floor with gum' routine going on." Samantha's father looked a bit puzzled but Angel Eyes filled him in.
"Inside joke, don't even worry about it."
"Yeah so hurry up and get us to the space port." Jason tossed a piece of trash at the back of Angel Eyes head and smirked to himself. "Didn't you say you had a new ship or something you were going to let Samantha pilot?"
"Yes, but I was hoping to have gotten her the blood transfusion. It's going to be hard for her to concentrate with very little oxygen to her brain. Frozen said he'd cure that though so i'm sure everything will be ok." He put his fingers up into the ok signal and smiled.
------------
Samantha smiled to herself and was very happy to have similiar clothes ready for her when she exited the shower. Her clothes were like a sleeveless sweater and a pair of shorts very similiar to her old ones. In fact, it almost appeared as thought he had gotten her the same outfit and cut off the sleeves."Hey..."
"I knew you'd have something to say, come here." She walked forward over to him and he quickly slipped an arm warmer up her right arm. "There, last time you looked so unbalanced without it." He then started the long process of wrapping her arm up with a bandage, taking his good time. "Angel Eyes told me how you hated everything, so I just bought you the same thing, minus the sleeves."
Samantha gave him an annoyed look. Just because she didnt like anything he was showing her didnt mean she didnt' like clothes of all sorts. "You better never take me shopping in a store with lots of black and white or i'll empty out your pockets so fa...."
"I highly doubt it." He intterupted her and smiled as her tail and ears went stiff with anger. "Now sit down in front of me and quit making a fuss." She sighed and did as she was told feeling a brush going through her hair. "You're the second weirdest girl I know."
"Who's the first." Samantha politely placed her hands in her lap.
"My girlfriend, Luna. She goes from incredibly angry, to kissing me and telling me she loves me."
"That is kind of weird. Didn't she come here with you?"
"You hurt her arm pretty badly, she stayed in the infirmary. She's not our blood and she doesn't heal very fast." Samantha winced as he combed her hair a bit hard.
"Do you love her?" Samantha asked and purred lightly her tail rubbing up against his leg.
"Quit that." He whacked her tail lightly with the brush and resumed brushing her hair. "Yes I love her very much. Sometimes I'll tease her just so she'll pout."
"Do you love me too?" Samantha looked back up at him and grabbed onto his knees pouting lightly. He snickered slightly and began to pet her.
"You may only be half my blood, but I definitely care about you." He cleared his throat. "And it's going to be weird telling you how we're going to get that blood out of you."
"What do you mean?" Samantha cocked her head slightly to the side.
"Well, i'm not exactly sure who's coming after you and all, but while you have that blood in you, they seem like not only can they find you, but they can use you." He lifted her onto his lap before he pressed a finger to her mouth indicating for her to open it. "See, we're not vampires or anything like that, but sometimes as a sort of...um...when you say you love someone....in a more intimate way....kind of like a kiss...." He seemed puzzled as he pressed a finger to her Incisor. "Anyway, some species can actually drain blood using this tooth and give blood using this tooth....." He pointed first to her right one, then the left one. "And um...it's meant to be a sort of intimate thing where both male and female...." He coughed. "It's supposed to be....Ah forget it. Just bite someone and start....sucking?" He shrugged and wasn't sure himself.
"Are you trying to say we have sex with our teeth?" Samantha's bluntness caught him off gaurd and of course he started to sweat a bit.
"No, you're not supposed to have sex with your teeth. Normally you're supposed to bite each other and it's a sort of intimate thing ya know?"
"No I don't get what you're saying. Do you bite Luna or something like that and now she's going to have babies?" Frozen couldn't keep himself from laughing. Samantha of course had a puzzled look on her face. She had heard plenty about sex and where babies came from, but no one had ever exlained it to her. "Am I going to have a half niece?"
"No no no. Ok listen, find some random person and bite them ok?"
"Ewwww, no way. How about I bite you?"
"What? Don't even think about that you imbr..."He stopped himself. "Fine, find someone you like in someway and then do it and...exchange blood with them so you'll have less of that mutated blood and more regular blood ok?"
"You just dont want me to bite you so you don't get pregnant. I think Luna would be so mad then." She crossed her arms and then barred her teeth jokingly.
"Apparently no one ever taught you anything about the birds and the bees. And none of that, I'm only seven crap because I know you've got to be older mentally."
"Well then...go on...tell me how it's done...or why don't you show me on Luna." Frozen blushed for a moment and then stood up.
"I think we're done here." He patted her on the head."Just, remember what I said ok?" He smiled and then turned around leaving indicating for her to follow.
"Sure, biting gets people pregnant." She smiled teasingly and nipped at his hand. "So where were we going?"
Samantha nuzzled the red sheets of the comfortable bed in the captains room as she purred happily. She remembered what it was like to be captain of the train for PK and absolutely hated the way things were around there. A hardly comfortable bed, very bad food, and worst of all, there weren't any showers that she could use. She was so happy that her father's ship was like royalty and could hardly remember that she was on a ship at all. She pulled the covers down and crawled underneath them, her troubles fading as she closed her eyes and began to drift off to sleep.
"HEY, that's my bed." She heard her father's voice come from the doorway and peeked her head out from under the covers very shyly.
"Please can I have this bed?" She put her hands together and gave him her best pity face.
"What? No way!" He put his hands on his hips and stared firmly at her.
"Come on now dad, there' room enough for the both of you." Frozen stepped up behind them and leaned in the doorway.
"What?! But she..." Frozen looked sternly at his father who couldn't get an word in without the stare continuing. "She's....older...and it wouldn't seem...right." Frozen continued to stare at him. "Ah fine. Just quit looking at me like that." He smiled as his father left the room and walked down the hall toward the main deck.
"How ya feeling?"
Samantha had curled herself up in the sheets until only her head and a few pieces of hair were sticking out. "I'm feeling good."
"Have you, done what I told you to do yet?" He smiled nervously.
"Why do I have to bite somone?" She started to pout slightly and didn't want to hurt anyone except pirates and her bounty. He sighed and shook his head.
"It doesn't matter who you bite, it's just that you need to replace that blood of yours with some normal blood otherwise you'll continue to have a lack of oxygen to your brain and it'll cause problems."
"I still don't want to. I'm just fine this way and it's not going to stop the nightmares." She crossed her arms and watched as Angel Eyes came up frome behind him and whispered something into his ear before he stood back.
"Well....if you replace your blood....you'll get to command this ship and you'll have this whole room to yourself and they'll feed you fish and warm milk..." Samantha's ears perked up and she smiled.
"Really? This whole ship?" She jumped up and ran across the room and latched onto Angel Eyes shoulder, biting him roughly and sucking for a moment before letting go. Of course Angel Eyes gave her a weird look, but she smiled over at Frozen happily. "There, all done, now can I have the ship?"
Frozen put his hand to his forehead and looked down at her. "First of all, you're not sucking their blood, you're exchanging it." He knelt down next to her and pointed to one of her sharp incisors. "One takes, the other gives, that way there's not air pockets....because if you get air into your veins, you'll die instantly." He stood back up. "Secondly..." He blushed. "The only way that's going to happen is if you get...excited enough. Then all the blood will rush to your head and..."
"Ok enough, i'm sure she gets it." Angel Eyes gave both of them a weird look. "Look, I'm going back to my ship and i'll see you two in orbit. I've got to see if I can figure out where that...thing came from." He turned around and then looked at them again. "I just...nevermind." He threw his hand up and turned around again and quickly left.
Samantha smiled innocently up at Frozen as Angel Eyes was leaving."Why'd he give us that look?"
Frozen shook his head and laughed to himself."Luna looked at me like that when she first heard about it too."
"I still don't understand what i'm supposed to do."
"Alright look, you know that feeling when your heartbeat is in your head?" He poked her head at her temples.
"Yeah." She thought back to when she was fighting the pirates and commanding her ship. She loved the idea of fighting pirates, the excitement of battle and the risk of dying. She felt the heartbeat in her head as she thought about it and could feel the heat on her face from the lights.
"Ok, what makes you feel that way?" He smiled feeling as though they were making progress.
Samantha smiled and looked up at him happily. "Killing people." She purred and her tail waved back and forth, not understanding really what a life was.
"Um...ok..." He started to look at her like Angel Eyes had looked at them.
Samantha felt offended by the look he gave her. "So when I feel like that, then I suck someone's blood?"
"Uh yeah lets go with that, but just to be safe, try to do it on someone you don't care about..." He smiled and put his hands over hers. "And you'll get everything you want if you do that and you'll start to finnally look your age again."
Samantha put her hands on her hips and gave him the same look back before sticking her tongue out at him. "So where am I going to find some pirates?"
Frozen thought to himself about all the major pirate factions and unfortunately he had no idea how he was going to lure one in and then board them and let Samantha suck their blood. Then he thought of the perfect plan. "Lets head over to New Tokyo."
Samantha cried in her hands as she sat on the doctor's bed, small bandages on her shoulders from scraping on the walls of the deck. Her cheek was swollen from when the phantom had fired a mortar sqaure into the front of the ship and sent her flying into the deck of the ship. She couldn't believe she had lost to them. She didnt care that she was outnumbered or that she had little experience, she had made such a fuss about it that she felt like a fool. All she wanted was to kill them, why couldn't they just play fair and fight her one on one. She still remembered being forced to eject with the others as well as a large number of the crew, being lucky the phantoms didn't seem interested in such a small prize as was her life pod. After drifting through space for a small bit of time, the Kusari police recovered the life pods and had taken them back to New Tokyo.
"It's not all bad Samantha, we were heavily outnumbered, although, I would've taken the offer to go after that lone phantom when you had the chance..." Frozen said as he patted her on the back. He was completely unscathed and had been able to stand perfectly on the deck through the whole fight even up the part where he had to carry Samantha to the ejection pod.
"You're not making me feel any better!" She whimpered as tears went down her cheeks. She remembered the feeling of seeing the phantom ships, her temples had begun to pulse and she felt her heart race as she had dropped the first phantoms shields in less than a second. Her lip was no bleeding from biting down too hard and she did not look forward to the scar it would leave until she could get some blood into her system. After she had brought the ships shields down, the rest of the battle was very bad and she felt very stupid for attacking the incredibly hard to hit hugenot.
"How do you think your father feels? He's having another ship custom made but now he's going to feel disheartened about letting you have the helm.
Samantha didn't hear him as she curled up into a ball, her ears limp as her tail was as well. "I had the feeling, but I wanted phantom blood."
Frozen was drinking a cup of water at the moment and nearly choked as he heard the words come out of her mouth."Phantom blood? Samantha, i'm not sure they even have blood. Maybe you should go for something alittle less...dangerous. They really don't play by the rules anyhow."
Samantha stood up in the small white outfit patients wore and gripped her fists tightly. "No, I have my mind set on Phantom blood now and I won't rest until I drain one of them of all their blood and watch the life fade from their eyes."
Frozen sighed. "Firstly, the person you're going to be 'trading blood with' won't die. They'll get a slight life extension as they'll be recieving a temporary dose of 'your blood'." He knelt down in front of her and put his hands on her shoulders. "Secondly, what are you going to do, shoot them until they give up? They'll just run away."
"I'll disable their engines!" She was determined to have her way.
"Samantha, look, when the new ship gets done, your father is going to give you a second chance. He's very uneasy with you having so little oxygen to your brain."
Samantha crossed her arms and felt defeated. She turned around and could still feel the pain of loss as she climbed back into bed. She didn't say anything and curled up in the hospital sheets. "It's not my ship so I guess i'll have to listen to you."
"Ok good, now i'm going to go make sure your father isn't more injured than he looked last time we saw him. Try to get some rest." He took a moment to pet her before leaving.
"But when you let me take control, i'm going to go right for those phantoms..." Samantha purred a bit to herself, her eyes turned red as she gripped her pillow. "I will have phantom blood to nurture me..."
Angel Eyes looked up at the sun of the New Tokyo System and wondered to himself why Samantha would stand still for hours just staring into the sun. Perhaps she had seen something in it or perhaps maybe she wasn't really looking at it. He couldn't see anything special in it aside from the magnificence of science that it presented in it's complex gas composure. He shrugged lightly and took a sip of his hot chocolate, a gust of cold air touched his face and caused him to wrap his scarf alittle higher. He gazed at the puddle of frozen water at his feet and felt the boy with the same name slip into his head. If it wasn't for the many different people he had on his staff as well as his girl friend, he would have assumed that he liked the same sex due to the amount of touchy feeliness the boy put forth. He was always smiling and joking around and touching him which did make him slightly uncomfortable. The most he would offer in return was what he had deemed a 'man hug'
"Hey, there a reason you're standing there?" Jason interupted his thought as he stepped forward, the only weapon he had this time was a standard solid shell pistol at his side.
"Ah, just thinking." He looked up at Jason for a moment before gazing into his hot chocolate.
"About what?" Jason stood next to him and couldnt' share in the man's feelings of hot or cold since the temperture was set in his sealed environment. Jason didn't see a response for a moment and nudged him. "Hey, speak up."
"I was just thinking about what other things we could be doing right now."
"We're getting paid and until the cashflow stops, I'm happy just hanging out. Besides, Samantha's father has good wine." He laughed lightly and elbowed him in the shoulder.
"Yeah, the pay is good too, but I found out a few things about that attacker back on Manhatten while Samantha was out getting her ship blown to pieces." He looked over towards Jason who seemed very interested.
"Well hell why didn't you tell me before?! I wanna get the bastards back for destroying my new plaything! All I have now is this piece of crap pistol." He pulled it from his belt. "I mean come on, it's not even a handgun!" He pointed out that he could almost fit the entire gun into his palm, the trigger had been enlarged so he could pull it with ease in the armor he wore.
"It's not information that's going to let you get revenge." He took another sip of the Hot chocolate and then looked over at him again. "Turns out that Samantha's mother was an ex member of a clan that was part of a rather large ground battle. She was injured during the war and had to be shipped off planet."
"So what was the clan name?"
"I don't have that information, but her ship was shot down in the New London system while being transported to an unknown facility." He gave him a look. "This is when she met Samantha and Frozen's Father. Apparently he took care of her and she was the reason he turned from slave trader to taking care of slaves." Jason nodded his head.
"Yeah, so Frozen is a son of a slave?"
"Not quite. Frozen's mother married the slave trader. She had Frozen and around when he had turned the age of four, his father left. Samantha's birth record indicates that she was born less than a year later."
"Oh, so his father left because he was in love with Samantha's mother."
"Wrong again. Samantha's mother was admitted to this unkown facility even before he left. Apparently he loved his wife so much that he felt he wasn't good enough because of what he did."
"Yeah I get it now. That's how they're related, that's good and all, so where's Frozen's mother?"
"Well, see, Frozen's record goes blank for five straight years and his mother became deceased at the end of these five years. Also, whenever I ask about his mother he just gives me a sad look and then refuses to speak with me for awhile and I'd really like to know what happened during those five years."
"What does he have to do with these enemies anyhow?"
"Frozen Dissapeared at the age of eleven and apparently that was twelve years ago. He's now eighteen, or so he claims. He knows quite alot about the mutated blood in Samantha and remember that comment he made while we were fighting that powered armor?"
Jason gave him an odd look. "Yeah he said 'When you ride in one of those for several years you know when 'It's dead', as if he had been in one of them."
"Frozen isn't his real name, that should be obvious by now and his hair is naturally white, however, when you look at his mother and his father's genes, you can clearly see that Brown is the dominant trait. And for Samantha it was Brown as well."
"So are you saying that the mutated blood causes hair discoloration?" He shrugged.
"Yeah, Anyhow, just thought you'd like to know."
Jason grabbed Angel Eyes hand. "Hey, I remember that guy with bandages all over him saying something about something Samantha said."
"What was that?"
"He said Samantha said something about the powered armor being named Bold Full Metal. I remember reading about a kid with a nickname like that dying in a very large mech battle some time ago."
"Well, maybe the kid didn't die."
"No, look, i'm almost forty years old. Yeah ha ha, great, laugh while you got the chance cause I know you didn't know it." He stood up straight for a moment and then returned to his serious face. "Seriously though, I read about that battle when I was still young."
"You think that this has some kind of connection to Frozen and Samantha?"
"Why don't you do research on the battles that took place and the mech pilots as well as who was fighting. I gaurantee you find out the name of our enemy and someone we can look to for answers, so get on it already!" He slapped him on the shoulder. "Come on go go, hustle!" He started to jog in place and threatened to give him a hug if he didn't start moving which he did without a second thought.
Up above them the sun was suddenly darkened as storm clouds moved in. Thunder and lightning could be heard throughout the city, however, there was no wind.
-------------
"Ya alright there Samantha?" Samantha turned over and looked Luna dead in her eyes with quite a fierce look, but it did not appear Luna was phased.
"I'm fine." Samantha turned back over.
"Alright, if you're fine then i'll just leave you all alone for the rest of the night and boy, what's that outside? looks like a storm." Samantha felt half mocked, but of course the idea of a storm scared her and she sat up and grabbed Luna's hand.
"No don't go, you can stay and keep me company since Frozen and my father decided to go fix the ship.
"What am I chopped liver?" Samantha listned to the man in bandages who was in the room next to her and now sitting on the edge of his bed.
"Yes you are, now go back to bed." Luna turned to speak with him before returning her gaze to Samantha. "Don't worry, I'll be here all night."
Samantha was quiet for a moment as she grabbed her pillow before she asked Luna a question. "Do you love Frozen?"
Luna smiled and grabbed Samantha's hands. "Yes I do love him. He's done so much for me even if he isn't perfect, who is?"
"Well, he told me he bites you. Does he do it alot?" She smiled as she asked the question and Luna blushed very deeply.
"Um...well no actually. Er...what else did he tell you?"
"He just told me that people get pregnant when you bite them...well no, he said that he bites you because he loves you or something like that." Luna giggled lightly and put Samantha's hands down into her lap.
"No silly, I won't get pregnant if he bites me and you won't make anyone pregnant if you bite them."
"Well why does Frozen want me to bite someone?" Samantha looked up at her inquisitively.
"He wants to get all the bad blood out of you and make you all better."
"He won't let me go after phantoms to bite them."
"Oh my, biting a phantom. That's quite a thought." Luna thought for a moment. "Even I couldn't hack a phantom ship so you could board them, I think you'll need to look for a phantom planetside or much closer to home if you really want to bite them."
"I do." Samantha stared into Luna's eyes and Luna looked a bit nervous.
"You have neat eyes, they remind me of Frozen's."
"Whats wrong?" Samantha purred lightly at her and blinked her eyes, when they opened they were red.
"If you'll excuse me, I'm going to get a drink." Samantha grabbed Luna's hand and pulled her close to her.
"I thought you said you were going to stay here." Samantha pulled Luna close enough so their lips were almost touching.
"Samantha, don't..." Samantha showed her sharp teeth.
"Alright, I'm staying in here to watch you two." The man with bandages pushed the two of them apart with ease and handed Luna a soda. "You forgot not to look into her eyes Luna. Remember what Frozen said? You both have those magical eyes that make anyone want you." Luna blushed very deeply and stood up and turned away.
"I'm so sorry Jake!"
"Ah It's ok, I've only talked with him a few times since escaping but I remember him stating that you usually get to the kissing part before you pepper spray em." Luna couldn't take the embarrassment anymore and took a few steps out of the room. Samantha wrenched the sheets of her bed lightly as if having withdrawel from something and it took quite a moment for her eyes to return to normal.
"Why did you stop me? Frozen said to bite someone..." The man with bandages stared at Samantha with stern almost invisible eyes.
"It's considered inbreeding if either you or Frozen ever share one another's blood. Frozen wouldn't be very happy if he found out he'd gotten your blood in his." Luna returned with her drink in hand and a light pink flush in her cheeks.
Samantha looked angrily up at him and had an odd urge to attack him. The feelings of anger slowly subsided and she felt bad for arguing. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself."
"Try not to look into Luna's eyes ok? Both of your eyes combined can't be good for you guys."Samantha nodded as Luna looked up out of the see through ceiling.
Samantha sat on the edge of the bed and looked up through the see through glass, spotting the odd looking storm clouds before spotting an opening in the sky with small spinning objects. She was not familiar with what it was as stared directly up into the spinning objects and her gaze didn't leave it. She spotted something coming towards her at an amazing speed before it stopped and began to drop down towards her which propelled her into action. She jumped off the bed toward Jake and knocked him over backwards into Luna just as the object smashed through the ceiling and landed next to the bed. She sat up off of Luna and Jake and looked back at the familiar powered armor, this time it appeared to be smaller and it's hands were slightly oversized. What appeared to be armored cords ran from it's hands to it's back where there was a large canister filled with blue liquid. Two bolts of lightning struck the inactive powered armor before it began to hum with life, several lights on it began to glow as it stood straight up and spoke.
"Activating the Hell Raiser." The machine had a slightly hispanic accent, it's eyes began to glow a devilish red as it rose from it's kneeling position. Samantha recognized the name and she immediately began backing out of the room even before Jake and Luna had gotten to a standing position.
"What is that thing?" Luna asked as she looked at it with his mouth agape.
"Don't look and wonder, just get the hell out!" Jake shoved Luna toward the door as the powered armor brought it's hands up to grab them. Luna quickly followed Samantha's example and began running down the hallway towards the exit as Jake closed the door behind him. Samantha looked back and watched as Jake had barely gotten two steps before the door splintered and exploded outward behind him. She decided that looking back wasn't the best idea and so she looked forward toward the outside courtyard.
"What's going on here? All the members of my mother's clan are coming back to haunt me!" Samantha suddenly stopped dead in her tracks as the powered armor landed directly in front of her.
"Capturing Target." The Powered armor reached toward her, it's hands stopping only a few inches from her. Luna Scooped Samantha up as blue liquid sprayed out of the back of the armor's hands down onto the ground. She watched as the liquid quickly solidified and rolled across the ground like a ball.
"Don't stand still sweetheart, that thing wants you." Luna set Samantha down as she pulled something small from her pocket and turned back towards the large powered armor.
"Luna, I'll distract it, You get it from behind." Jake shouted as he ran up towards the powered armor and delivered a heavy kick to it's chest and this only caused it to reel back slightly. The armor didnt' seem as well protected as the other one had, but even a bullet might not penetrate it. The powered armor swung hard and fast with it's closest hand, sending Jake sprawling across the ground into the gate nearby. It then turned it's sight on Samantha who was now standing across the courtyard unable to get to the exit that it was blocking.
"Come take your mother's place Samantha. Huron says he'll forgive your actions." The powered armor reached it's hand out in a very human like gesture as if the pilot within was a human. Samantha didn't doubt the possibility and knew she had to buy Luna a good distraction. Luna took the moment to move out of the way of the powered armor which of course, didnt seem to want to let her. It watched her every move until Samantha spoke up.
"You don't exist anymore hell raiser. You were reported dead from a friendly mech explosion and here and now you say you exist? Prove that you're the real hell raiser." The machine looked befuddled by her words. It took it's gaze away from Luna and looked at the ground.
"I visited you when you were still a child. Don't you remember?" The machine stood tall and let it's hands raise in the air as an act of arrogance, proving the there was indeed a human pilot who could make mistakes. "I am the hell raiser! No one messes with the hell raiser!" A moment after they finished their speech they quickly leaned forward as Luna grabbed onto their back. Luna quickly pressed her hands up under the powered armor's neck plated and tugged hard on the sealing, twisting it to one side and then the other. The small object she had in her hand appeared to be an eletronic lockpick to which she was using on the suit's complicated sealing. There was a low hiss before there was a light beeping sound that seemed to take Luna off gaurd. "My mission is a failure..." The helmet part clicked off and a small confined blue colored explosion took place where the armor existed, but Luna didn't appear as though she had been caught in it.
"They changed it again and I couldn't save the person within." Luna landed next to Samantha and had been holding onto a pole when the explosion had occured, however her hands seemed slightly singed.
"You know about them too?" Samantha turned towards Luna with a troubled look.
"Frozen's my boyfriend, I have to know everything about him. He was a tank mercenary in their clan for some time." Luna looked at the smoking wreckage as it finnally collapsed. "They're coming for you and your blood, you have to get rid of it and fast!" Luna looked toward Jake and quickly realized he'd been injured. She made her way over to him and knelt next to him.
Samantha thought to herself about her mother's clan. She barely remembered anything about them but with the members that had come back from the grave, she could remember them. She saw several others looking down at her from her crib but their faces were a haze to her. She also couldn't remember the name of the clan her mother had been in. She shook her head and tried to shake the memories. She had to find a way to exchange her blood with a phantom. "Where am I going to find a phantom. It's not like they hang out on New Tokyo." Samantha looked in towards the city and noted a very large building that was glowing with activity. It reminded her of a ball with dancing and singing and people with dresses and tuxedoes. She spit on the ground and hated looking formal and all the people who looked down upon her dark attitude as well as their snobby dislike of social outcasts. She loved to wear what she did and she loved to command her own ship even if she had gotten it blown to pieces the last time she'd used it. A thought ran across her mind as she watched Jake stand up and hobble back in towards the hospital where several nurses helped him back in towards his bed.
"Alright Samantha, let me take you to your father where it's at least slightly safer than it is here."
"Yes, take me to my father, I want to hold a ball to attract all the rich snobs."
Luna looked at her and rose an eyebrow. "I'm sorry?"
"I mean, I want my father to hold a ball so I can look for the most handsome man whom I'd love to transfer my blood to." She smiled delicately at Luna who laughed out loud.
"Sure, sure. My prize boy has always been the skinny short boy though, but you go ahead." She took Samantha's hand and tugged her lightly towards the hospital.
"Well, you're in luck because it just so happens that tonight I have to meet with the emperors son." Samantha's father was already dressed up in a tuxedo with a small annoying bowtie.
"So you're dressing up in a suit?" Samantha crossed her arms and lowered her ears with dissaproval.
"It's going to be just like you were suggesting, a grand ball with the emperors son." Her father looked in the mirror at himself and adjusted his bowtie. "He can't just meet me or certain people will become quite suspicious and we can't have that."
"Good, It'll be the perfect place for pha...I mean suitable blood transfers." She smiled innocently at her father and was glad when she saw that he wasn't paying much attention to her.
"Of course. I'm guessing that Frozen and that troublesome girl of his went to the Kyushu sytem again so it'll be just me and you." He turned towards her and smiled. "And I got something for you."
"Really?" Samantha smiled lightly. "You shouldnt have." Her father guided her to the closet and pulled out a frilly dress that matched her outfit. Samantha's ears lowered as she felt incredibly annoyed. "You really shouldn't have."
"You go ahead and get dressed, I'm going to be downstairs waiting outside." Samantha looked flustered and grabbed him by the collar although she was too short to seem very intimidating.
"There's no way I'm wearing this, EVER!" She showed her teeth and hissed at him, hear ears becoming erect. Her father stood straight up and looked down on her and smiled with a light laugh.
"See, now I have to force it on you." Samantha felt his heavy shadow for a moment on her before his hands settled on her shoulders and sent a chill down her spine. Over the next few minutes she spent the time struggling with her father and refusing the wear the dress, of course, when it was over and done with, aside from a few scratches that were upon her father's face, he was relatively unscathed. Samantha could barely walk in the high heels her father had forced onto her and in order to prevent her from removing them he had leather wrapped around her ankles at the top of her socks.
"I don't want to be seen in this!" Samantha's face was on fire, partially from anger and partially from embarassment. The cool air on her bare back made her feel incredibly uncomfortable and she was not too fond of it on her bare legs either.
"Awww, what a cute girl you've become." He smiled and laughed to himself. "No, but seriously. I don't want you standing out." Her father looked at her seriously. "We want as little attention drawn to us as possible. You never know who's watching."
"The people who're trying to capture me?" A breeze came in the window and caused her to shiver, glad that she still had the bandage on her left arm.
"Of course. Now come on, we can't be late."
"One last thing."
"Yeah?" Samantha took a moment to rip the bowtie off her father's neck and toss it to the floor, stepping on it when it hit the floor.
"Now we can go." She smiled up at him.
Samantha frowned upon seeing all the people wearing fancy outfits and diamond jewelry around their necks and on their fingers. The whole room was filled with diamond light fixtures as well as the plates the appetizers were held upon and there was a very large swan in the middle of the room that sat in a fountain with water spraying from it's mouth. The rest of the room was well lit and full of people talking and dancing with music that made it very hard for her to think. Her nose did however catch something that she was very attracted to, the smell of exotic seafood which she did love with a passion similiar to her bloodlust.
"Ok, I'm going to make my way up to the emperors son and you hang close by ok?" Her father's words fell on deaf ears as he watched Samantha's tail dissapear among the thick crowd of people who were gradually surrounding him to speak with him. Of course he was quite popular with the people of New Tokyo, but he hadn't planned on having to speak with so many people. He'd have to pick his daughter up on the way out.
Samantha put her hands together and looked at the many different foods set out on the table. She could smell the pieces of crab and lobster as well as the suishi that lie before her. She couldn't resist tasting them all many different times. Perhaps people with money weren't so bad, so long as they provided yummy food at their parties she would be interested. Samantha took a step back to look around and met with resistance as she collided with a waiter who was about to place another tray down. She watched in slow motion as the plate clearly tipped sideways and under any normal circumstance, the food would have spilled all over the floor, but on this occasion the man's reflexes were quick enough to recover the plate without a single appetizer falling off.
"Sorry!" Samantha turned around to apologize to the man and noted that he was unusual to say the least.
"It's alright, I got it." He spoke the sentence, placed the tray and made his way towards a set of doors off in the distance. Among the crowd she wouldn't have noticed him, however something felt weird about him and she decided it would be in her best interest to investigate. Without the help of the high heels, she matched the man's speed and watched as he went through the doors to a rather quiet area of the large building. It didn't look as though it was the kitchen where waiters went to get more plates of food. She took a moment to make sure no one was watching and slipped through the doors to the next room where the man was just entering another room that appeared to be very dark. She made her way to the door as quickly and quietly as she could where she opened the door a crack to look inside. It was dark to the point where she could only see the pool lights that were shining down onto the indoor pool, but her ears picked up a conversation on a radio.
"I'm getting ready to right now. I'll head up to the rafters, just make sure that you're ready to evac as soon as possible." The voice was low and it was followed by a click sound. Samantha couldn't help but open the door more and creep in, the sound of the door closing behind her being soundless. She carefully approached the poolside where she spotted the man from before kneeling next to an open case. In his hands was a very large rifle that didn't seem as though it was for decorating cookies."This operation lacks something." Samantha felt her smile began to crawl across her face, her heart began to pump faster as sniffed the air. This man had to be a phantom and he seemed perfect for a blood transfer.
"Yummy..." Samantha couldn't help but let the words slip from her mouth and almost felt the urge to try and stop herself, the man appearing as though he had gained a sort of afterimage to his movements as he stood up and pulled something from his belt. He didn't waste time asking questions and opened fire with a silenced weapon which of course caused Samantha to bolt behind a support pillar. The phantom's shots had been in the dark and had still managed to nick her bandaged shoulder which caused her to curse the heels that were strapped to her feet. She pushed the thoughts out of her head and felt as though she could literally see the man moving while she stood behind the pillar.
Samantha ran from one pillar to the next and again bullets nearly hit her, but she counted the amount of coughs that came from the pistol and noted that although a good shot, they wasted their ammo very fast. She waited a moment before popped out from behind the pillar and darted toward the man who was just now noticing that his clip was empty. She reached out to grab onto him, but instead felt the handled of the gun come down onto her head. There was a moment of dissorientation and headache before she noted that she had impacted the man still and caused him to drop his weapon.
"You have no weapon and I doubt you can beat me in hand to hand with such a small body so I suggest you quietly come here so I can kill you." The phantom stood on both his feet just as suddenly as he had hit her on the head. She could still feel the pain of being hit so hard, but her adrenaline blocked most of it out as she dashed towards him again ignoring the warning.
"All I want is a taste..." The phantom seemed a bit surprised by the sudden rush, but it didn't change the outcome. Samantha made it close enough to get ready to cling to him, but felt something heavy push her into the air as she felt the feeling of being unable to breathe force it's way into her lungs. She felt the ground touch her feet and immediately fell to her knees holding her stomach. She gasped for air but couldn't quite get it back.
"Hmm...Fiesty I see." Her vision was slightly blurred and the throbbing feeling in her head had begun to subside.
"No, not yet..." Samantha felt the man grab her dress and lift her to her feet.
"Awww, why not?" Samantha breathed in deeply and looked forward toward the phantom. She couldn't give up just yet. She remembered passing out and immitated it as best she could, letting her body go completely limp. "Well, I've no use for someone who can't even hurt me." She felt the man's grip loosen and she quickly sprang into action, tearing away from him. It seemed to surprise the phantom yet again as she dodged between his legs and crawled up his back, feeling her heart starting to race as her claws dug into the man's chest. Her temples pounded on her thoughts as her high heels dug into the mans waist.
"Finally, phantom blood..." She slid her teeth along the man's bare neck slowly for a moment, feeling something odd inside of her as she dug her teeth deep inside of his neck. She could feel her heart pumping in the phantom's blood and out her own mutated blood. She had no doubt the phantom would have some odd effects to him, she was not concerned with the effects however. She was concerned with what the phantom was doing at the immediate moment, which to her was quite disturbing.
"Mmmmnn....harder....I like it rough...." Samantha had quite mixed emotions. She knew what Frozen meant by being intimate with his girlfriend and biting one another, but she wasn't intimate with this man so why did he sound so excited? The thoughts creeped into her head until she could no longer stand the ideas that rushed through her mind. There was a momentary lightheaded feeling followed by a deep sense of satisfaction as her heart beat the new blood away from her head. She took a deep breath of the air and quickly jumped from the phantom's back onto the floor behind him. She felt exhilerated and her body didn't feel nearly as cold as it had before even if her clothes did feel alittle bit tighter on her as though her nerves were more responsive now or if she had grown a few ages older.
"Thank you for you blood...now if you're excuse me..." Samantha didn't want the phantom to rouse from his dream and so she quickly made her exit.
------------
"I'm going to need to call a mission abort." The phantom spoke into his radio as he sat back next to the pool feeling slightly weak.
"What happened? Are you in trouble?"
"No I'm fine, but if we try now they'll be too aware."
"Did someone find you?"
"Yeah...and they bit me..."
There was a moment of silence over the radio. "...what?"
"Nothing, nevermind, over and out."
"Roger." The radio went silent. The phantom sighed as he looked up through the glass roof.
"If only more girls bit and clawed me."
------------
Samantha made her way back into the main ball room and spotted her father who was already leaving. She had grown used to the high heels and was standing next to him in a moment. She smiled up at him and obviously hadn't noticed the blood dripping from her right cheek nor the fact that her dress wasn't exactly the most beautifull on her at the moment. Her father only gave her an odd look and a few words.
"That better not be phantom blood." Samantha looked up at him with a false look of shock on her face.
"What, No of course not." She attempted to straighten her dress and clean the blood off with her father's bowtie. Her father continued to look directly at her, not at all upset by the blood, but he could see right through her lie.
"Ya know, your mother often said what she though sex with a phantom would be like."
"Ew father, I didn't have sex with a phantom." Samantha blushed deeply and put her hands up in defiance.
"Sex with a dragon she always said." Her father turned around and headed for the car.
"I didn't do it!" Her ears went limp with embarassment.
"So you admit to having sex with a dragon then?" Her father turned towards her and opened the door.
"No, I just bit a phantom..." Samantha covered her mouth realizing she'd be tricked and looked sheepishly towards him. He grinned at her.
"Just had to have your phantom blood."
"Yes..." She looked away from him. "But, don't worry, I'll never do it again."
"Oh? and why's that?" He smiled even more and seemed as though he might bust out laughing.
"Lets just say the dragon wanted me to do it 'harder'." She stepped into the car and sat back in the seat. Her father of course, snickered the whole way back to the hotel.
OOC: I'm sorry to say, but I've recently moved on from freelancer to a game called Chrome Hounds and will not be actually ON freelancer. I'm hoping to continue writing this story because I do so enjoy it, however Updates may be a bit slow due to the adictive nature of the gameplay for Chrome Hounds. I Had a great design and plan to make everyone really surprised by the ending of the story and all, but now I realize that half the people won't know exactly what the ending is all about, fortunately I'm glad that alot of people know my ex clan and it should hit right at home. Striking the audience and keeping their attention was my goal and I hope that even if I don't write anymore that everyone enjoyed what I did write. Who knows, maybe with a few name changes I could publish it for everyone to read. Good Luck to everyone On Discovery.
EDIT: Forgot, I recently drew Picture of Samantha and Luna's pencil work. anyone interested go here>
