That base is legit, and under the circumstances I see no reason why I can't set it to hostile to whoever I want. With the extreme ease of the route, a little weapons fire as they come and go seemed fair. Why not just return to siege it if it's so bothersome? If you were going to go this route, you could have just removed it and saved the cover of the event. This seems to have been organized to distract away from the siege in Orkney (or take advantage of it), and is looking like the Gaians can just decide to invent an event to remove Gaia as a sell point for base supply commodities. Is this really changing the game by force again? I was willing to keep this fight in the game, but it seems this is just a highly one sided ploy.
Gaians were always going to win likely. Since the other two factions seem shoehorned it and don't really care, and Molly route is hard with the PvE zone and all :]
Don't overthink it - Fights are fun, we make some money, get to log our factions make some rewards (FORUM TITLES PLEASE ADMINS :]), Gaians who requested the event take it down and I assume your base will come back after event to some place (not sure what happened to it but I'm sure it will)
EDIT: You have to realize that Story could have just removed the docking without an event - they don't need to do this to change a solar - instead they made an event that is skewed for one side and will have the same result as if they just did "patch - Gaia now undockable" etc. End result is the same - we get fun out of it, canon consequences will be the same as if there was no event at all, not a bad deal I'd say?

Sure but you don't think it's terribly inconsistent, and bad for this type of game to make a change based on what a player is doing? What's the point of knowing the game, and figuring things out, if they'll just change it? That means it's basically insane to play here unless you don't want to do much.
At the same time, would it also be fun for the Gaians to run in something like 'camp construction materials' to start their own camp on the surface, to justify getting an atmospheric docking point with their IFF on the other side of the planet? Instead they want to ruin the planet on even themselves because of one POB, that I'm sure they would then come to siege once they change the planet's dockability.
You guys think I would really turn that base on Gaians over that? I'd have been content to simply watch that battle unfold. But Weaponized Bacterium means their win can't be good. Too bad we get no real info on what means what, like if UC win, they get an atmo point, or the planet turns for them, or same with the Molly's? This is why I'm always pushing for an official system for everyone to follow to change things. It's fine, I guess I'll just make Gaian transport and finish the planet off myself.
This event wasn't requested by the Gaians or any other faction. I wrote it up independently to resolve the dubious situation currently on planet Gaia, stated by its infocard. I could have just edited the infocard, but this is more fun. And no, you're not meant to know what results your actions will cause before things are concluded. But I'd figure the gist of what each faction causes is clear from the write-up.
All three of these factions deserved a reason to get involved in something, and Gaia is the perfect mess as per current canon. A conflict in the independent worlds between factions that are typically neglected by the "grander" narratives involving the houses and their forces.

Hope this clears some things up.
I don't think it resolves anything though, the situation could have remained as it was there for a long time. Why now? Sorry, but due to the timing and details, I don't really believe this is the sole motivation for this event. If it is so important to keep things fixed by a story department, just tell us what to do, what we can and can't do. No one cares about a mystery to a rigged event. With a heads up things are going here or there, we can know to avoid certain situations. If the docking situation is going to change, I wouldn't have bothered building out there. I see that as systemized cheating, which I shall endure, yet again.

Sad that we don't have some events that lead to the current event.
Bacteriology weapon is dangerous. Use it and you will lose support among the people. But we have 0 stories about why Gaians want to use it now why not in the past? They are not pinned to the wall and do not look like those who have to go to extremes. + Bacteriology weapon may work not as you expected it's a really bad thought to use it.
Corse, are they will play in the mafia at Gaia?
Due to their faction lore, I can believe in it that they want to make some profit from Gaia and refugees at it.
But Molly Dissidents... why bring them to Gaia if they have more safest points like o48 or o52 for life or hide. From when Molly was interested in such weird stuff? Who are their Dissidents and why did they send them here I don't see any logical reason. Just because Molly is against Bretonia they want to make some terror at Gaia?
This event looks like story devs can't make some logical moves before the important move. This event will decide the system future in RP for the next months. (since it will take months or years to again receive events in this area)
I would Like to give my Two cents to this Too. However you might Judge the Event and its Impact on the story, one thing is pretty clear to me. This Event Brought Life into a Part of the Game taht was Mostly Ignored since the Enclave was Removed from there. I Have just one litle Thing that i want to talk about, and that is the Fact that Orbital Spa and Cruise wasnt even Involved in the Backstory of the event. We are the Nemesis of the Gaians and our involvment even just in the Backstory would have made the Gaian Side of the Story Way more belivable. Apart from that i have to say that i like the idea of a Biovirus but i have to ask if that is a Easteregg Reference to the movie "The 12 Monkeys"? If you plan to give the Gaians Some Story love then Please Dont forget Orbital in this Process as both factions could benefit from Nice Events.

While I understand by OS&C are not involved here, I do hope to see the two crossing paths in story more. they are very intrinsically linked lore wise.
