Self RPing Bretonian 5kers into the faction by letting DTR members fly BMM indie transports is just weird.
Havent seen this kind of meta since Spectre.
We could just simply get them and transfer the IDs, they're fully compatible. But it was much more fun and beneficial to actually do some in-game RP around it rather than making a dry post explaining how it came to be. There's not even any real SRP involved, no tech compat requests, nothing here should bother anyone. I don't see how doing that could be wrong.
Would love to see some actual constructive feedback tho, since I'm the one who organized it. Are you saying it's considered metagaming because it didn't involve anyone external to DTR? Or is it because the event wasn't announced on the forum beforehand?
It is frowned on in general to put members into ships of opposing factions instead of spontaniously encounter another person outside of your faction and RPing with those. And yes, you can use those ships when your ID allows it. Its just that its very scripted and seems to only serve to show us how active you are.
I would rather see you interact with people outside of your faction and write posts about that instead of having DTR players on enemy ships and doing scripted RP like this. Have any of you even tried to organise something with the Bretonian factions?
Ive done nothing but constructive feedback.
The moment you posted the request to become official, you basicly said you are ready to be official. So yes, I will be critical in my feedback to the faction. Were you just another unofficial faction, I would care alot less. This is the period you are under alot of scrutiny by the community. I underwent this myself when I applied for officialdom. Take my feedback or leave it. In the end I have no say over whatever the staff decides.

It used to be frowned when server was more alive and had 100+ players, same like having your members answer on behalf of another faction to your messages, but these days telling people to actually wait for other players in specific 5kers of specific dead house is kind of cringe. They could get them without any effort, they could just write a story but they did more.
There are many things that used to be frowned upon, but these were taking places several years ago.
Keep it up guys, had like 6 encounters with you and not all resulted in pews, but they all were enjoyable and even surprising considering the fact some of you are brand new. Certainly you are going up and it will get better over time (:
I will add my 50 cent to this situation, and remind this Corsair-originating faction that they are still more or less fine with Gallia, despite display in Sigma-15 and during the event in general (is it because I don't care to write angry RP about "we glass Crete for credits we left behind!!!" or else - up to you), so you could write to quite active EFL~ and buy a ship or two from them, with potentially a few more posts than one about highjacked ship. Just saying

Got one for you. I'd love to see your guys engage in some higher stakes roleplay. There's been some great stories here on the forums, better than modern best-sellers, even, and it would be amazing if your guys were to start the path of adding to those. Easing your toes into the community at large is a great first step, and it's nice to see you all taking it.
It's also nice to see that the older players have high expectations for you. It means you're doing something right, for certain, and I haven't seen @Emperor Tekagi have hope since the last time hardogay was posted in the hardogay channel.
Hey, would you mind linking a few examples of the better stories you've seen? I'd love to read them and see what made them so good.

Haven't really encountered beyond two pew encounters, got no opinion, although it was oddly suspicious how you sent 13 people after me one time in a system. Kinda sus and ruuuude. But I don't care, I was docked, thankfully.
Hmmm... Guys seems to be a ok, a little bit lost in the lore, but what difference does it make.
I mean, for some reason TBH is still official... Can't be worst.
Salud!
I joined DTR after getting specifically DM'd only minutes after joining the official FL Discord.
Not new to the game, quit a few years ago after never really finding my way "into it" - too much grief-gank-rudeness
and strange (to be utmost polite about it) rule-set(s), complete with abandoned wiki and horrendous forum-lore-structure.
Leaving this unpleasant story untold, just the facts: Played the vanilla game for at least 600h, couldn't and didn't want to get past 30h-mark in Disco...
Then DTR found me.
Just let me quote what I wrote to Ravenna Nagash yesterday as an answer to the question what drew me back into the game and how it's connected
to being a member of DTR - should very much stand for itself:
Helpful people, who are happy to have one more idiot on the roster.
People who talk, explain, teach rules and lore, like Firewolfy (who half belongs here it seems), Mult, Aingar, Samurai, Buck, John, Sunset, Venator.
The guys and gals here in DTR are what I expect of a "Crew" and in the last days I could convince some of them to come to voice chat more regularly, like John.
That really alleviated things for me yet even more, because I'm a very vocal person. And when I ask "who here wants to just DO something TOGETHER?",
I get more and more "Yes, me"-responses. Earned half a billion Credits in a week just by being silly with Mult, Miner and Buck.
More than I made in two months playtime three-ish years ago.
That and the Discord I might add. It is such an improvement to the overall gameplay-experience.
Being with the guys on the activity today was tremendously better, because of the simultaneous talking in voice about it:
Sunset and Aingar corresponding about particular phrases to bring forward to the guys from the other faction.
Miner throwing in RP as the wide-eyed "tourist-in-a-Gunboat" first time outside the O-systems. Mult getting booze, me trying to keep my
inner joker at bay, trying my hardest to look half-baked-presentable.^^ This is the stuff I'm here for!
(slightly redacted)
(If anyone doesn't want to be named here, please tell me and I will remove that immediately!)
Good to know that your idea of a good time is to throw two bombers, a gunboat and two murmillos against a VHF. I'll take note to avoid your faction in future.
