Mi Commandante,
Reports are true, news flashes from FP1 are true. The bretonians have established an outpost in Sprague orbit, by the look of it, they are planning to colonise. the base location Shielded
Response times are higher then in Bretonian house space but they seem capable. Transports are usually unprotected so easy pickings.
My suggestion: wait till they colonise and then starve them out, easier to take em when properly besieged.

*Sigh*
That sure was an unpleasant ride. While in the middle of my routine patrol of Omicron-94, I learned that a large strikeforce were being dispatched to take care of the base that was recently constructed in Sprague's orbit in Omega 3.
I quickly finished my patrol, nothing to report by the way. Nothing out of the... Ordinary that is. *Ahem*.
I quickly finished my patrol and made my way to Omega 3. A few Legates, some Praefect and an Osiris were on the scene and trying to break down the base shield.
Unfortunately our attack was disrupted multiple times by small forces of bombers, gunships and even a Red Hessian battleship.
After all of that had been taken care of things were going our way. At least for a little while.
We couldn't break through that stubborn shield. I haven't seen anything that persistent ever before.
In any case the support for the base showed up, before we could take it down. Suddenly the BAF, bounty hunters, some IMG and even the coalition counter attacked us.
As bombers and fighters were clashing in between all of the battleships a massive ion storm hit us. It took us completely by surprise and disabled half our fleet just like that. I'm not sure how many of the enemies it took, but it definately turned the battle in their favor.
Needless to say our capital ships were easy pickings for their bombers after that.
Aaron, Damario, Anso, Valeria and myself did our best along with the other Corsair pilots to cover the retreat of our remaining ships. I lost track of Anso during the battle, but I'm sure he is fine.
Valeria and I retreated and I docked at Cadiz while Aaron, Damario and some others decided to stay behind and fight it out. Valeria went on to Omega-47.
My Titan is currently undergoing repairs at Cadiz. I'll be back on duty as soon as it's ready.
Loud turbine noise from corsair engines filled the hangar of the battleship stationed in Omega 47 and purple positioning lights flared at the nearby walls as a praetorian corsair bomber maneuvered to land on one of free spaces where a service crew was already waiting. Despite its comperatively large size, the ship was graceful and had a rough beauty with it as all corsair ships had -
"Arriba, stand back!" The commanding service watchmen called to his crew. "This craft has been on sortie the entire day, its engine's need to cool"
- Inside the cockpit a pilota breathed out still wearing her flightsuit and helmet. Soon the cockpit of the craft opened and the pilota climbed out as two nearby hangar crewmen brought a ladder near to exit the craft.
"Welcome back, pilota." The hangar chief greeted the woman as she removed her helmet and revealed a sweaty and slightly pale face. "Looks like it got a little hot out there."
Although her eyes were tired after a day long sortie there was also an odd serenity within these windows to the soul. And a resolution, the strength of a corsair.
The woman nodded and in that moment, the ship's chief medical officer approached.
"Senorita, are you alright?" He curtly asked, she could see that his mind had never truly left the medbay and the many wounded he needed to tend to daily.
"Si, senor." Valeria reponded, her speech slow. And not just her speech. "I am alive and well, gracias." The exhaustion left her slow, it was about time she landed for a break.
The medical officer nodded and hurried on. The hangar chief, who had not failed to notice the pilota's state nodded to her and said "Rest, senorita. We will see to your craft." Again, Valeria found herself comfortable with only a nod in response and then proceeded to the hangar doors while the service crew now went to tend to her craft.
"Andale, amigos! Lets get to work!"
Were the last words Valeria heard as she exited the hangar and made her way to the quarters. Her way to there felt as if she was hovering, the exhaustion caused her to feel strangely light. Or was it only the exhaustion...?

**Missile Alert**
The repeated warning signal was ever present. A bretonian templar was steering, turning slowly as the mighty bretonian ships always do and coming straight at her. In this moment, time seemed to have stood still for Valeria, her hands at the flight controls, her eyes at the head up display.. the lock-on alert humming like a strange music.
Usually Valeria would initiate evasive maneuvers and hope to escape the wrath of the enemy craft that was coming at her.
~~~The flashback ends~~~
And then Valeria stood before the quarter door on Battleship Fes and as the door opened she saw a readily prepared room. Her steps guided the pilota to the bed and despite her exhaustion she managed to sit instead of letting herself fall onto the matress.
In another breath a hand moved some messy and sweaty hair out of her face and she found her thoughts drifting off again...
Quote:~~A flashack returns to her mind~~~
But she did not go evasive, she aimed right at it... and then a gentle touch to the flight control and to the side of her a mass of blue, radiant antimatter went right past her craft .. and crashed into the templar's ventral engines, igniting the craft in a bright explosion, the pilot ejecting, barely able to escape.
Debries was flying past Valeria's craft which was already turning in anticipation of another fly-by... did that .. shot just hit?
~~~The flash back ends~~~
After getting out of her flight gear and freshening up in the shower and bathroom, Valeria had laid on the bed and was writing on a pad for a flight log report. But what should she write? So much had happened, and so quickly too.
After receiving information about the location of a bretonian base in the Omega 3 sector it was clear that the corsair empire needed to act and fast. Their plans of colonising planet sprague, long known to the corsair empire, seemed to have come to a halt over time ... until this base appeared.
We should have known that after the construction of Falster Base Bretonia would take advantage of the independant miner's initiaitve and use the momentum to try and push by the corsair presence to Omega 5.
It appears many corsairs had that impression and it was maybe just a matter of time until a strike force was assembled to assault the base. However, the bretonian's were prepared and expected the assault, it failed and we had to retreat. That was a day ago...
Quote:~~~A flashback returns to her mind~~~
**The radiation alarm was ringing** "Warning, radiation detected"
Valeria was on cruise speed and passing the neutron star, or borderworld disco as she referred to it. How many fights this seemingly everlasting thing had seen she wondered.
Her destination was Omega 5, there she was to meet with a small strike force near Cadiz, eseembled to probe the base defenses and supply level of the installation. The praetorian bomber she was flying was fully armed and fueled. Usually, when she returned from a sortie, she had plenty of ammo and fuel left....
~~~The flashback ends~~~
Today, another strike force was assembled. Initially we were only to probe the defenses and test the bases supply capacity. It was planned as a quick hit and run strike and that part worked perfectly. We got into trouble as fast as we got out of it before our opponents could react.
A bretonian bomber was breaking apart from corsair gunfire while the seige fleet was assaulting the base, raining green and orange fire upon the base relentlessly...
~~~The flashback ends~~~
Since our strike force met minimal resistance, it seemed our strike team caught the attention of mission command and a fleet of battleships was sent in order to assault and besiege the base. The massive fleet began the assault and anyone daring to oppose it was crushed by their might.
Quote:~~~A flashback returns to her mind~~~
**Missile alert was going off**
Valeria's craft was under heavy fire, the lock-on alert, playing its constant, monotone tune yet again sounded like a strange music. After several ionstorms the corsair siegefleet had broken apart and enemy reinforcements had arrived sweeping the sector clear of the remains.
Valeria couldn't believe it... an entire siege fleet, wiped from the face of the universe by ionstorms and combined fleet of BAF, BPA, Hessian, RF, BMM, IMG, IC, Bounty Hunter, SCRA and even independants.
**The onboard warning system voiced itself again** "Shield Failure"
Only few clicks more to safety...
~~~The flashback ends~~~
I should have known, maybe we all should have, that our luck would sooner or later run out. With the arrival of several ionstorms, knocking out all systems on most ships, our siege fleet was scattered and reinforcements of our opponents picked them apart easily.
The transports supplying the base were already waiting as if it was all a coordinated, planned strategy.
Had the universe now sworn its wrath against us as well?
Regardless, what remained of our forces retreated and fought the pursuers on the way back. Damario, Anso and Leon as well as myself were a few of the survivors. I made it to Omega 5 and then jumped to 41 and 47 as my craft was low on fuel and ammo.
I am staying at battleship fes currently and trying to rest after one of the longest sorties I have ever flown to this day. It is hard to find sleep, I can't forget these moments when the antimatter against odds actually does hit and crash into a fighter or bomber causing it to ignite and explode.
I think, this was the first battle where I saw that from up close,... saw the debries fly past my ship knowing.. it was my doing. A while ago, I would have regretted it and worried if the other pilotos were safe, but I realized, when you pilot a fighter craft and launch, you know the risks and you accept them.
We all are aware of that, myself included but today, I think I actually realized it.
Hermanos y Hermanas,
this is Trueno here, i heard about the situation in Omega 3. Seems like those Bretonians still have so much manpower and material left so they can fight not only the Gallics, the Mollies in Dublin or our proud Empire in Cambridge but also try to overstretch themselves to the far ends of Omega 3!
We must profit from this situation, hermanos!
My advice- though i will need more intel for a real strategy: Isolate those wet teabags in Omega 3, cut them off from Cambridge, so the local battlegroups cannot resupply and we can grind them to the crumpetcrumbs they are.
Furthermore, i suggest considering capturing and plundering that awfull station to maximize our gains. We have the know how and the material how to raid bases from the last family mission in the Omegas...also our soldatos are ready and after what they saw in Omega 55, nothing can scare or stop those caballeros! Just think of the riches we could plunder...the hostages to take, it would be well worth it.
Anyways, i am on my way back to the Omicrons, i will leave my assets in hte trusted hands of the Unioners and return with spoils of war. To be precize an asteroid miner repair ship that did not run fast enough as the Naiades approached the mining fields of Munich...it should serve us well in the coming days.
Mi Commandante,
this is Trueno reporting, as announced i moved my assets back from Munich into the Omegas. To be precise i moved the bigger part of my battlegroup to Cadiz so our part of that station is quite busy right now. All in all my group is led by my flagship, the Kerberos, and assisted with supplies and munition by the Naiades and the Palaemon. A small scout wing accompanies our trusted and true Titan squadron of 5. For heavier target i requested 3 Praetorians to be transferred from Omicron 94.
With the help of this strikeforce i will try to cut deep into the Hessian chuchos supply lines without being slowed down as i would be with capitol warships. The mission for now is to establish up to date intelligence on who ships what to the Hessians, so we know where they are strapped in order to hit them harder. Furthermore my goup will try to capture as many gusanos as possible, maybe we can let them sing some cantar for us.
My hermanos are all eager to prove themselves on their mission - and of course i will bring no shame to the familia, too.
I will report back to you as soon as i hve the first successes for the Empire! Viva los Benitez! Viva los Corsairs!!
I'm pleased to hear that you have moved your forces into position and that you are about to begin operations.
The Praetorians should have arrived at Cadiz by now and I'm sure you will put them to good use.
Any evidence that you can gather relating to those that might be supplying the Hessians would be most useful, and if you feel it appropriate then liberate any and all supplies. If you require any additional transports then I can send additional support ships.
Can I also suggest that you remain vigilant for any Coalition forces that might be operating in your location. Whilst I'm sure that Cadiz itself will be safe from their schemes, shipping en route for Crete might not be. Therefore, be on the look out for any potential Coalition raiders.
I have no doubt that you and your forces will perform well and that you will prove yourselves to be credit to your parents and the Empire.
Mi Commandante,
here is my first report from Omega 5:
the last two days were eventless, my group was prowling the outskirts of the main battlefield and the known Jumpholes where we suspect reinforcemnts and supplies to be shipped in. While we were spotted by a few scouts our own Decurions were fast enough to disrupt their flight and communications- it is good that we put them into this battlegroup.
Today things changed, and thats el motivo of this transmission. We were enroute from sector D-6 in direction to Cadiz when we noticed an unknown signature on our scanners. Of course we went to investigate- i sent soldata Esmeralda and her wingmen ahead of the group and yet again these light fighters showed their worth to us. They spotted and sucessfully stopped a Coalition Insurgend with the callsign SCRA|Tesla - as it knew it could not run it tried to stand down and fight while getting an emergency signal out. Valiente but loco...that gringo - i am relatively sure the crew of the Naiades could jam the signal... This coalitioner was out of luck mi commandante. One shot obviously hit something essential in his cockpit as he stopped maneuvering at one point. We took our chance to get our first prisoner and got the repair ship over to drag the vessel to Cadiz.
There we saw that his ships got some more hits than the lucky "stray" shot...let's say it is roto, si? But obviously...this gringo is not your average scout- he had some very weird and special weapons mounted on that ship not jsut your everyday Kalashnikov- might be a just a feeling, but i think we should investigate this a bit more. The gringo pilota himself is, according to his flight suit Lieutanant Dmitry Dubovik...that doesn't ring a bell with me...Anyways, right now he is receiving minimal medical care so he will regain consciousness anytime soon so i can have a little talk with that hombre to see if he is worthy of a real "interview".
If he is useless and goth his high tech equipment by chance- i advise to get rid of him as we can't really ransom a combatant and the prison here at Cadiz is quite full.
Jose, if you need more information just send me a message, i will return to my patrolling duties in Omega 5 in the meantime!
Trueno,
This captured pilot and his ship sounds very interesting. I would ask that you bring both him and his ship to Battleship Fes where I will meet you. We can then begin a proper interrogation. The rest of your group should remain on patrol.
I will ask our intelligence officers to let me have whatever informatrion we might have on this Dmitry Dubovik.
My compliments to Soldato Esmeralda on her success. She is proving herself to be a very accomplished pilot.
Hermanos y Hermanas,
i have muy bueno news for you. As you all know the OSI had some problems with on time delivery of the highly needed supplies for the on-ship weapon research centre of the Penelope. To be honest we haven't been lucky at securing these things either.
Well, a chance opened up and i could not let it slip. As you all know the Omicroners dissolved and went astray like the rubble they were..but they left some of therir hermanos behind, which formed a new group of Zoners, trying to reestablish them and getting their lost honor back. Now....these ressourcefull hombres set their goal to reestablish Freeport 7 at its old location in Sigma 17. For this they seem to be seeking allowance and support within the Empire, a wise move if you ask me.
But i'm not the one to trust rumors, so i contacted them myself, trying to find out if they are willing to give us the help andsupport they owe us, too.
And to make it quick, this Phoenix group seems to have learnt from their past and were willing to supply us with our needs unnder the lanket of buying everything fortheir reconstruction site. What might delight our cashiers...they offered a muy bueno price aswell...
As you can see in the appendix of this communication i did a quick checkup of the wares, at least to me it seemd like all is proper. To be sure i hope that hermana Valeria can give me a confirmation of what the science crew said about their new toas, i would be very gratefull.
As you can see, i was forced to lead a Whale into our home and to Syros shipyard, for this i apologize- i took all precautions that no data was collected, nor did any of the former Omicroners set foot on our shipyard. These people seemed honest in their intentions, so if theirood prove to be proper i suggest taking another step in their direction and letting them prove themselves is a wise path.
