Launch time has been set for 21:00 (9.00pm) GMT. A perimeter needs to be secured around Southampton shipyard, New London system running up to the launch, to protect any civilians in the vicinity. Hopefully pirate activity around Bretonia will stay as low as it has been recently thanks to our efforts, meaning we can enjoy a bit of a party for a change.
Don't let this be an excuse to turn up intoxicated as a reactor rat, we still need at least a couple of pairs of sharp eyes out there :0P
A Junker by the name of BadWolf was spotted carrying the illegal cargo of Nomad Brains. When asked to deliver a fine he bolted into the Cambridge ice field. Unfortunately he escaped capture due to COrsair intervention.
I request that he be brought to justice.

I will make sure that the Junker will move through our systems again with Nomad Brains. He will be stopped and scanned if I get the chance.
Additionally, I am moving Battleship Sierra into New London Space to patrol the area. When the Paladin is ready to lauch, it will be the safest system in Sirius.
Battle Report:
3 Phantom ships engaged the ceremony of the launch of the Paladin at approximately 21 hundred hours (GMT) at Southampton Shipyard. We had one confirmed loss of SF ships: The SFFR Sir Badger. The Paladin left heavily damaged.
They engaged with a battlestar, bret. battleship, and a fighter of unkown build. They ran approximately five minutes after crippling the new SF flagship. The Phantoms retreated into the debris field surrounding the Leeds jumphole after the crippling of the Paladin. It is reported that they possibly are using the Leeds jumphole since they can move through Magellen directly to Leeds to New London quickly, without using any main vains of transportation. As to what we do from now, I do not know, but I suggest that all SF and civilian pilots in the New london are be wary.
I would like to commend the valiant efforts of a Bowex member who assisted in the fight. It was greatly appreciated. In addition, I would like to commend both Badger and Lancer for being there during this battle.
My battleship was severely damaged during the battle, and Southampton Shipyard has agreed to repair it immediately. I will be refitting it with more advanced weaponry while it is in Southampton. It is possible that the battleship will be more effective against other battleships, since the Phantoms used one against us. It would be highly dangerous to have more engaging us on sight, and not having more than a few ships in the fleet gauged to fight others of the same class. The damage I sustained destroyed many of my weapons, which is why it will be refitted. In addition, it will recieve a minimum of a mark VI armor upgrade, but I hope to get a seven. The weapons that I will be using will be decided by my crew at a later date.

Bravo gentlemen, it was a costly battle but it was not a complete loss. I'd like to echo Hyperwave in saying our efforts were commendable, especially as many of our officers were otherwise occupied in other corners of Bretonia. All in all, the threat was well met and dealt with and our beloved Bretonian space could return to peace soon after.
As you're well aware, the Paladin was heavily damaged but easily recoverable and engineering teams have been working round the clock to restore it. It's re-launch will be kept under secrecy. Also, you may not have been aware, but two new prototype ships were also present at the battle, one now being restored in Southampton docks. These ships are a welcome addition in a new category, the SF Frigate group - SFFR designation.
Both of these Albatross model Frigates were dry-docked on Planet Kurile and sold to the SF after superb profits and relations from Cambridge. The massive increase in shipping between the two planets served to allow safe passage for a large number of businessmen and officials into the Sigma border worlds, while at the same time returning vast quantities of alien material for study at Cambridge Research Station. The Frigates provide a large amount of firepower not available from lower class ships-of-the-line.
The majority of SF ships present at the battle were new and not previously battle-tested, and in the cases of the Frigates, unarmoured. We shall be working to upgrade these ships as much as possible as well as give them each a proper testing period before throwing them back into active duty against heavily armed forces. The Paladin had already been fitted out very well but the Phantoms had the jump on us this time, and knew they wouldn't have survived without taking the Paladin down first. We will learn from this and through knowledge we shall best the enemies of Bretonia!

My battleship has finished repairs and will be released from Southampton shipyard today. My new weapon systems have been refitted, but will remain confidential in order to counter any threat that may occur. I will say, however, that it should be more effectively now.
Additionally, now that the phantoms have attacked our flagship, what is the planned course of action against them?
Sierra out.

I think, as others may, that purposefully taking a war to our enemies (however inherently evil they may appear) is a foolish course of action. That said, our priority as always is to protect Bretonia, whatever the cost. All enemies of Bretonian law will know they are unwelcome as long as we stand as guardians.

Off duty on Planet Cambridge, the alarm was raised for a [DJC] Cruiser, of Molly design present in the system. I met the pirate in my Gunboat 7k wide of the Research Station and a pitched battle ensued for several minutes. Due to substantial comsic interference, possibly from an electrical storm in the southern ice fields, we had to break off the engagement, and the pirate vessel escaped. Regardless, both our hulls received damage, but merely cosmetic.
We must be wary our pirate foes, the sleek design of that Cruiser troubled the targeting systems and mobility of even my Gunboat. The day my Frigate returns to strength cannot come too soon.

I will relay this message from Kiggles after speaking with him on what we will need to do about the threats:
The DJC will be allowed in our territory with the exception of Cambridge. If they engage in Cambridge, then neutralize the threat.
The Phantoms were operating in Dublin today, but we will leave them to sit there. If they enter New London, or Cambridge (not sure about Leeds), then they are to be neutralized.
I must warn us all that if we run into a phantom randomly, to be wary. I have no doubt that they will attack us.
Battleship Sierra out.

Hello everyone, I have recently joined the SF. I have sent in my name change certificate to add the SF tag to my ship's registration and am waiting for that to go through. I am flying a Templar, by the way.
I look forward to serving Bretonia with you. :)
