1. GENERAL OVERVIEW
Synopsis of the Dark Matter Core study:
The Starfliers have provided a preliminary report on the recovered core, which has established a general baseline of knowledge. This study will serve as a foundation as we thoroughly examine the Dark Matter Core that they had recovered in their expedition. We’ve come together with several departments to begin exposure testing as we continue to determine what has been uncovered.
Based on the report they’ve given us, here is the gist of what we know so far:
The mass of the object. (500kg)
A general idea of what its function is (a power generator/container)
Here is what we don’t know:
The material it’s made up of
How to manipulate the object
The lasting effects it has on the human brain
Its interactions with varying physical properties of a variety of elements.
The precise reaction leading to the generation of energy
How the energy is released and in what capacity
The purpose of these widespread tests is to come to a broad conclusion on the object’s makeup, and provide a greater understanding of what to expect. Theories are to follow the attached lab reports, as we push to undergo a multitude of tests to determine the above.
It’s my hope that we can be the first to comprehend the potential of objects like these, as it may pave a path forward for humanity to transcend its current technological limitations.
2. REPORT #1 - MATERIAL MAKEUP THEORY I
Upon first glance and the approximation of mass, we’ve been unable to come to an accurate conclusion as to the precise atomic makeup of the containment material which is sustaining the Dark Matter and reactive process within. The material feels cold to the touch, almost like a smooth stone, but is translucent and displays whatever reaction is taking place beneath its surface. It appears fragile, but is quite the opposite.
The mass alone suggests that the object was created using a process beyond our technological comprehension, as to compress and sustain Dark Matter is a feature beyond what is currently even feasible by humanity’s current understanding of physics. I don’t even really know how they pulled this one off, chief. It might be worth some reinforced consultation from the higher divisions.
We’ve subjected the material to repetitive temperature tests - approximately four hours each session for the first day - from extreme cold with nitrogen dumps, to heating it up with flame throwers and plasma torches. The material had a very mild, near off-the-scope reaction to low temp interference, but it’s my belief that the equipment we’ve got just can’t identify the correct signals to determine if cold is doing anything substantial.
3. REPORT #2 - H2O INTERACTIONS AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
A suggestion by one of the lab technicians was to submerse the object in water, to see a few things. Primarily, how the material it’s composed of interacts with H2O, whether it’s porous or not, and if water has any kind of effect on it. We submerged the object for six hours, with no effect. We then subjected the object to high-pressure hoses, to see if any type of erosion or condensation would occur. Still no effect.
The object’s exterior is smooth enough that water does not cling to it, and no detectable or visible changes took place in the time it spent submerged.
4. REPORT #3 - LIGHT FREQUENCY AND LASER EXPERIMENTS
The transparent exterior made the object an obvious choice for light testing. We started by exposing the object to different frequencies of light. Each light test was approximately one hour long, as we examined the effect on the object and on the wavelengths should they pass through the object. We eventually extended the tests beyond 700 terahertz, into spectrums no longer visible to the human eye. While this provided mild interactions with the Dark Matter itself, there was little in the way of substantial results with the first method of exposure.
We received more notable results when shifting to IR and UV frequencies, as there was an ever so slight uptick in the output of energy picked up from the Dark Matter Core the higher the output became. Due to safety concerns, we moved the object into a quarantine shield, as the output of frequencies reached intensities that were harmful to staff.
Despite our best efforts, exposure to Gamma rays only produced a mild interaction with the Dark Matter inside of the object, which further solidifies the theory of condensed matter reaction. This however has not provided us with a clear direction to proceed, yet has given us enough results to establish a foundation to explore from here.
Decontamination is underway, and tests will resume shortly.
5. REPORT #4 - LASTING EFFECTS ON THE HUMAN BRAIN AND PSYCHE
Concerns raised in the preliminary report provided by The Starfliers, as well as all reports we’ve had access to about uncovering objects like these have had signs of rapid neural decay, psychosis, delusional symptoms and other failure of faculties. Given the severity of incidents like this, a contingency was put in place to ensure that the first signs of problems would be acted upon by a team outside of the research circle.
Sadly, that time has come. Paranoia has gone up among staff, over petty things like theft of datapads and PPE - all renewable equipment from requisitions. When these reports came in, we were pulled aside and put through rigorous testing to determine the cause - including myself. This’ll be my final report on the subject, as the project is passed on to the tertiary team while control manages this crisis. Attached are the scans and after effects brought on by exposure to the Core, for future reference in the event containment cannot be achieved.
Brain Scans Results
Medical scans have detected abnormalities in the medial frontal/anterior cingulate cortex. This breakdown falls in line with the development of delusions, and a chemical deficiency that can lead to the inability to distinguish reality from fictitious imagination. The process of deterioration appears to be brought on from exposure to a radiation we’ve been unable to detect thus far.
Treatment recommendations are medications to supplement the chemical deficiencies per individual, therapy for several weeks (3-6) and isolation protocols to protect the individual from themselves should they act upon the delusions they’re experiencing.
6. REPORT #5 - AUDIO FREQUENCY EXPOSURE
Previous tests and the very nature of the object lead us to suspect that within is a vacuum, in which the matter is sustained and reacting to output a currently unreadable amount of energy. Given the success of laser and light testing, we’ve opted to see how sound interacts with the object. The first tests started with single note frequencies of differing pitch, playing through a sealed tube into one side of the object. We set up a monitor on the other side to determine if the sound would pass through the object. Each test ran for twenty minutes.
Material Specimen Interaction, Audiograph Results
The results were not substantial, however given that sound did not pass through the object or reverberate through the exterior shell, this leads us to two conclusions thus far:
The object itself contains a vacuum, in which dark matter is reacting to produce energy.
The material of the object does not disperse received energy from soundwaves. It does not vibrate.
As an added test, Sentinel Kaufman thought it would be appropriate to subject the staff and object to a full playing of Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ at maximum volume, to determine if the object would react at all to the shifting tones of music. Though initially worded: “If it jams”, we figured there would be no harm and it would be the best opportunity to break for lunch. As expected, nothing happened in response to musical influence.
7. REPORT #6 - MATERIAL MAKEUP THEORY II
Based on the myriad of tests run thus far, we’ve been discussing an idea in regards to the material that the dark matter core consists of, and just how it’s creating the reaction in the first place - including an idea on how to better get a readout from its output.
Thus far, we’ve been unable to pin down just what exactly this thing is made up of. Forgoing any thought of how it came to be and the process in which it was created, let’s take a look at what it’s made up of and relate it to what we know about foreign alien material so far. Some of us have compared it to the old samples of A6 - solid, inert. Perhaps a polished version, or a different elemental makeup of a similar material is used in the object’s construction.
That being considered, this could very well be the root cause of the impact on the human brain. It’s no secret that materials like this often leak a dangerous, and usually undetectable type of radiation that as of yet, we’ve been only limitedly successful in mitigating and preventing the effects of. However, that isn’t the focus here. Just something worth noting, should our theory prove to be correct.
The material is smooth, dense, heavy, and from what we can tell - near unbreakable. Though it’s unlikely that the material itself is responsible for the extreme mass of the object. Rather, the reaction inside is creating the effect. The condensed matter as we’ve come to understand it is self-reacting, meaning somehow matter is being consumed to create energy output in what seems to be a loop. Not unlike a primordial black hole, but lacking the structure to sustain itself. There remains a lot of questions as to how - beyond reading a potential output - one could utilize such a device in the first place. Thus far, the material has been largely unresponsive to every test we’ve conducted.
NOTES: Conclusion of the first wave of tests
The Dark Matter Core shows significant potential to be a breakthrough in energy production for humanity, given that the limited data we were able to collect has indicated a near-limitless source of output of power.
This power is being generated by some kind of self-reaction contained within a vacuum inside the core itself, where matter seems to be absorbed and output in a format we’ve only been able to detect under extreme circumstances with Gamma ray readouts. Further results will likely require that specific testing equipment be designed and manufactured for this purpose.
In addition, the limits of our understanding of physics make truly grasping the makeup of this object a herculean task. We’ve opted to include the Gammu AI in further disseminating the makeup and operation of the Dark Matter Core. I’m also recommending that we seek assistance from associates within the Aetherius Division, as the scope of the technology used in this device goes beyond what R&D has been able to discern independently.
Perhaps looking at the results of report 3, we can develop an array of monitoring equipment based on the successes we’ve had to better understand the potential and inner workings of the object.
Until the second wave of studies is completed, I’ve left the laboratory and floor open to the research team of the Starfliers. My staff will remain on hand to provide assistance where necessary. Please keep me apprised of any future developments once this data is passed off to relevant parties for further analysis.
What we’ve learned:
More of how the core functions and produces energy
How the object physically interacts with varying properties and environments.
What frequencies work when collecting feedback data while using light and lasers.
What’s necessary to move forward.
Thus, we conclude the first tests on this project by the Technocracy’s R&D division.

Deeper Magnetic Analysis After a day was spent handing over the suite to us, we had been introduced to the tools the Auxesia have used to produce their own results and conclusions. With us having been caught up, we started our first wave of tests. We had measured some magnetic elements within the object when it was held at our Research Complex. As our staff were sent medical leave, only our superficial scans were recorded. On Aergia, the facilities and resources available are much more varied and expansive, allowing us to learn more about the Dark Matter Core on a magnetic level.
Part one of our Magnetic Analysis was to gauge how much magnetic output the Core can produce. We started with rounding up objects with varying degrees of magnetic charge and placing them next to the Core (attached to a mechanized arm, manually operated as it wouldn't affect our test) , each one connected to a recording console to measure any disturbances. One after another, we would move the objects around the Core to slowly piece together it's magnetic field and where within the Core it originates from. It did not take long to record it's full magnetic profile, of which resembles the poles of Earth. North and South, the pathways of opposing magnetic fields matching up with all other magnetic forces ranging from simple fridge magnets all the way to rare earth elements like neodymium. The field itself could not be accurately recorded as the instruments here capped out. We need to either adjust the sensitivity or obtain new tools with higher magnetic ranges. Keep this in mind as the Core's magnetism is quite powerful.
An interesting detail we have discovered when studying the Core's magnetic field, is that despite all efforts to rotate the object (in order for our magnetized objects to interact with all angles of it's field), the Core's magnetic field does not rotate with it. As it is difficult to rotate an object with a mass of 500 kgs, any success in "turning it around" does not change the magnetic field in the way we would expect. Further testing reveals that the north and south poles are permanently stuck in a vertical, up and down. This leaves us with some impression that this object knows which way up and down is in space. Another curious piece is that with regular magnets, they become easier to separate the more they are separated. Gradually lose it's strength with distance. However, with the Core, there is no graduality about it. It's magnetic field is recorded to encompass a 3.7254 meter distance from it's surface. Any magnetized object that is outside of this "zone" is immediately unaffected. Inside the zone, the strength is assumed to be 100% and outside it the instruments record nothing.
A hypothesis comes up, as conductive charging used to be an old method of transferring power from a source to an electronic device. If perhaps we can identify some weakness, irregularity or otherwise exploitative component of this magnetic field, we could try to harness the power via induction. We will conduct other tests in an attempt to discover other ways of utilizing this power.
