Give it more Libertonian features. Right now, the rear "bridge" area looks almost like it wants to be a Kusarian Battleship when it grows up. The "wings" and engine are especially good, but that "pinched-off" part between the rear "bridge" and forward nose sections is is irritating to look at; that is, it just doesn't fit, and disrupts the overall feel of the model in my eyes. The gun mountings (that is what they are, right?) are all wrong, too; from a hardpointing standpoint as well as a balance and modeling one, they ought to be spread out instead of "clustered" on the front like that.
Also, like Turkish said, the decal's weird.
Mostly agree with what others have said here beyond that. Nose needs to be redone. While working from inspiration is good, those flat parts sticking out on top and bottom either need improvements of some kind - not sure what, exactly - or need to be removed. And more detail on the nose.
Having said all that, this particular shape for a Libertonian ship - that is, squarish - is highly unusual, but I think you could pull it off with this, particularly considering this thing's engine's resemblance to that of the Geb carrier.
And this model definately needs replacing. I mean... Xing's old model... and even the NEW one, to some degree... is just... I mean, anime textures? General non-Freelancer-ness? Their both really non-Freelancer ships with an axehead slapped on, honestly. And the current one...
Less forward firepower than an Osiris?
Wider than an RM BS?
Less armor than any other ship its size?
Nearly as tall as a Kusarian BS?
I mean, really... to say its fairly pathetic would be to say diamonds are fairly hard.
So yeah. Do please fix this up and get it through.
... Though then again, the current carrier makes a great bomber target.:P
I can replace the decal for something else quite easily.
I also gave it a more squared shape because it gives an impression of largeness and solidity. The truth is, this ship isn't very large (about same width as the dreadnought, about same height too, and just one engine block longer.)
The clusters of ports on the front are -not- gun ports.
The nose stays because it is mostly what the entire design is based around.
This said, it is a less or more serious proposal - so I do not really intend to modify it unless people really like it in the mod. Just a practice at modelling, really.
The reason I don't like the blocky nature of the front section is mostly because it is far too simple. The back half of the ship has many great details modelled into it, but the front has very few, which seems to create a visual imbalance.
Take a Starflier and spend a good half hour flying around the Mississipi or Missouri and marvel at the amount of detail they put into it. Fly inside the engine plates for lulz.
