Mr Pickering
Thank you for expressing interest in the Civil Defence Milita.
I can see you have some previous security training that should stand you in good stead for a role in the Militia. We'd like to invite you for a provisional interview and assessment, however we will need a few additional details before you arrive at Wharferdale.
Do you have a current pilot accreditation or licence that is currently active and valid, i.e. not disqualified or withdrawn.
Please provide the contact details for your Department of Work unemployment officer.
Please note that if a successful offer is made following assessment, declining will result in the termination of unemployment benefits.

Regarding my license and pilot accreditation:
I hold an active shuttle license from my early days with BMM, which is still valid and unsuspended. Technically, this permits me to operate a spacecraft.
For reference, my Department of Work unemployment officer's contact details are as follows:
Robert Cooper | Unemployment Officer | Cambridge Unemployment Benefits Bureau (CUBB) | Department of Work | Unit 18, Queensgate Plaza, College Lane, New Cambridge, City of Mayfield, Planet Cambridge, Cambridge System, BW2010 CB12 4CL. | Web: https://nn.CUBB.cambridge.br | Email: rcooper@cubb.cambridge.br | Tel: +7801020 329182 437

Mr Pickering
Thank you for for providing those additional details. We haven't worked with Mr Cooper as yet, so my supervisor will be reaching out to him for your character reference. Having carried out a licence check, I can also confirm that we're happy to move you along to pilot assessment and formal interview with one of our wing commanders.
If you could make your way to Planet Sprague, we'll be able to make the relevant accommodations. In the event that you pass assessment and induction, you will swear your attestation of office and be issued with a warrant card as a special constable. Please hold on to any travel receipts and we'll be able to reimburse you for reasonable expenses.
Name:Eleanor Helena Pendragon Date of Birth:808 A.S. Place of Birth:Westminster Mercy Hospital, Kensington Borough, Planet New London Place of Residence:Canterbury Station Pilot Licence registration number:BBP080402 Professional Experience (if any):I am a part-time escort pilot for Planetform Inc. Since 830. A.S. During this time I escorted many of their convoys to the Taus, Liberty and Kusari and fought pirates who tried to hijack the convoys. Motivation for Enlisting:Hard to explain it for me. My job at Planetform is great; they pay and treat their pilots well. Also, I did have the opportunity to see many fantastic things during these times, but... I don’t feel fulfilled as a patriot that I serve my nation well. That's when I thought about CDI, where I could serve our great nation better by helping to stop criminal activities inside our borders.

Ms Pendragon
Thank you for expressing interest in the Civil Defence Initiative.
Based on your existing corporate security experience and... earnest... motivations, we are happy to invite you to proceed to pilot assessment and interview with one of our inspectors. Please note that in the event of your successful progression, we are obliged to notify Planetform as your existing employer.
This is according to the provisions of The Special Constable Regulations (Amendment) 819, which place employers under a statutory duty to release serving employees (without prejudice) when conditions require emergency deployment. We will also be contacting Canterbury for character references.
Please make your way to Planet Sprague to continue with your assessment. In the event that you pass assessment and induction, you will swear your attestation of office and be issued with a warrant card as a special constable. Please hold on to any travel receipts and we'll be able to reimburse you for reasonable expenses.
Name:Eddie Gotoda Date of Birth:Apr. 2nd, 816 AS Place of Birth: South Shields Refinery, Newcastle System Place of Residence:Freeport 1 Pilot Licence registration number:829755126
Professional Experience (if any):Two years experience flying as a freelance escort in the Omegas and Taus count for anything?
Motivation for Enlisting:Father was a deserter, mum was a Gateway pilot. Kusari was smashing itself into Leeds and forbidden love was in the air! For me of course that means I’ve no home in Bretonia nor Kusari. Best they could do was try and make a life on South Shields for two years before that came right apart. I grew up around planes, and word down the grapevine is CDI’s a foot in the door for citizenship. I’m willing to earn my keep if you’ll take me on, sound fair?
Ah, who am I kidding; we both know this app is getting binned.
Name:Jacqui-Emilia Delcroix de Montmartre Date of Birth:Jan 27, 711 AGS (795 AS I think?) Place of Birth:Planet New Paris Place of Residence:Croyton District Hab-block 227, Planet New London Pilot Licence registration number:813369100. Professional Experience (if any):3 years transport helmsman for EFL, 5 years flight experience for the Council, mostly running cargo, 3 years experience salvage operations on Trafalgar and Halifax. Currently employed as a caretaker in Croyton where I wash the spaceships and the windows of the place. Motivation for Enlisting:I will be straight to the point, no, I am not from Bretonia. Yes, I know. You don’t have to tell me. Everyone tells me. If I open my mouth in public I risk a beating from the rabble that lives in my Hab-block, merde... salauds ingrats. I have been living in Bretonia since the end of the war, and the effective end of the Council. I’ve had little want to return after the incident with Kusari in Lorraine and how the fools on New Paris welcomed back so many of those uncouth Royalists. Though I have been unable to put my piloting career to much use while on London. C’est la vie, is it any surprise my application for employment within the local companies is turned down, non?
I am currently employed as a caretaker in the Croyton spaceport. As mundane as it sounds, it is a quiet and simple life, and few people bother me so long as I don’t open my mouth. Though such work is monotonous and has grown ever so dull, and admittedly I have grown rather sick of working with those Junkers on Trafalgar and would prefer not to return to that place. Even for Sirians they are particularly distasteful. From what I understand the CDI needs pilots, and I feel a yearning need to find some use for my actual talents again. Lord knows that BMM won’t take my application. Oh the irony would be sweet if this bit of paperwork actually made it to someone’s desk. I admit even the embarrassing payment you offer your employees is significantly more than I make now,and what I'd do for money for some cigarettes and good food these days... though what you people call fine dining leaves much to be desired. It is so embarrassing I cannot believe you have cooks who've gone to school for such things.

815-826: Mercenary work in and around Kusari.
826-828: None of your goddamn concern.
828-834: Mercenary work in and around Liberty. Motivation for Enlisting:Someone in Liberty dug up some unpleasant details about myself, so I had to skip town. I am also not welcome up in Kusari. I dislike Rheinlands current agendas and would rather die in a ditch than even consider my luck within Gallia. Bretonia sounds nice enough and I stumbled across your advertisement. Seems you do not ask too many questions, so let a mercenary aid you, yes?

Thank you for expressing interest in the Civil Defence Initiative.
The Defence Act 821 established expanded recruitment and conscription powers for the purpose of staffing a civilian law enforcement militia. Section 327(a)(ii) relates to the induction of foreign citizens for a service period as a special constable. Later sections also provide a naturalisation pathway dependant on good conduct and the duration of service. In that respect, you are correct that the CDI provides a "food in the door".
Given your... unique... circumstances, we'd like to confirm a few additional details about your experience and employment history before proceeding. You mention two years of freelance flight experience working as an escort. From age 16? Can you provide details of the clients you were working with, or any references we can contact for verification? If these were jobs arranged with corporate entities, we are happy to reach out to the appropriate contracts office or mission commission.
Providing we can obtain an adequate references, we will progress you to an interview and pilot assessment with one of our squadron commanders on Planet Sprague. We will reimburse you for reasonable travel costs upon your arrival at Stanbrook Hall. Should you be unsuccessful in applying for Interstellar Enforcement, there are also roles for terrestrial militiamen on Planet Sprague.

This was primarily intended to allow the recruitment of suitably qualified Rheinlanders who had entered Bretonian territory looking for work. Despite this, Section 327 is not prescriptive on this matter, which does indeed create an allowance for, uh, other nationalities too.
I have spoken to our senior HR manager and verified your current visa status, which does indeed appear to bypass certain prohibitions on the employment of Gallic citizens in Bretonian territory. Now, I must admit that your credentials are impeccable in terms of applicable experience. Despite this, I must stress that the CDI are based on Sprague. Many of my countrymen see one individual of Gallic origin as much the same as any other -- regardless of their personal history or merits -- and will treat them with violent prejudice.
Sprague in particular will be an exceptionally hostile environment, owing to the population of Leeds expats - a sentiment that is likely to be mirrored among many serving CDI constables. Most of Sprague's population lost loved ones to the occupation or desolation, and many are naturally inclined towards crime or violence due to their recessive socioeconomic class.
While we are happy to invite you to interview and assessment, we would suggest proceeding under the protection of a more Bretonian-sounding pseudonym. Perhaps Jackie Montgomery?
