Thats kinda like raping yourself with a back to front pineapple!
The adventures of George and Jim:
George: 'Hey Jim, whats up with the funny walk?'
Jim: 'Remember the guy I treated like crap for two years?'
George: 'who? that pineapple salesman who used to come past your office every day?'
Jim: 'Yeah, the pineapple salesman who bought our company and is now my new boss'.
George: 'uh... here, have some KY Jelly, Good luck man!'
"Jim: 'Yeah, the pineapple salesman who bought our company and is now my new boss'.
George: 'uh... here, have some KY Jelly, Good luck man!'"
Ha!
Chuckles aside, this thread is a good example of why I believe so much in netiquette. People online can be rude, horrid little troll men with bananas in their ears and bees in their mouths, but they can also be intelligent, insightful, and can honestly better you and the world you live in just by giving you a tidbit you hadn't thought of before; or reminding you of something you might forget. I've found many friends who've helped me out of tight spots, and I've never had any interaction with them but online. They think I may be the nicest guy they know. I hear that comment a lot about people everywhere I go on the net, so I take care to be as nice as I can be since I know the person that may read this may take my words very seriously and may be significantly helped by my thoughts. If I can help the other nicest guys, good. If I can help others become that nicest guy, even better.
We're a community. Help each other out, and be complete jerks to each other all you like as long as you can sit down at a table at the end of the day and raise a glass to each others' good fortune.
"Good RP buddy."
"I freakin hate you, but that was awesome."
"Yeah. Yeah I was."
"Oh give yourself a break."
*cheers*

How does that sound for a job title?
Sounds good to me mate... I'm looking for work right now anyway.
And Andrew... fortunately I have never been unpleasent to a pineapple salesman. Nor shall I ever be now I think through all the possible scenarios it could erm... backfire... on me.
through the jokes he is making a very serious point though. Well (and entertainingly) said. Seems like the kind of thing you can only learn through errors. Better make them other people's mistakes though.
' Wrote:I just cleaned this topic up a bit, it totally got derailed. This is not the place to be discussing factions vs. indies, and we've had way, way too many of those topics already as it is. Please keep it on topic, and let's try and show a little bit more respect to everyone? Thank you.
How is respect shown by threats of pvp whoring by the factions?
How is respect shown by completely unfair sanctions on behalf of a faction against an indie?
Have you read nothing I have posted? Seriously, take what I say to heart please. Please stop placing these little labels on things, and just remember that all the people in factions are just that... people.
And the same for indies, and accountants, and estate agents, and parking wardens, and game keepers...
I know a man, who is extremely well educated, he is very aware of all sorts of political issues, keeps himself very very informed. However he also knows that he can do nothing about those things directly. The time he takes constantly researching and ranting about the injustice around him prevents him from doing the things he should do, like taking his kids to the park, or chatting with his neighbor. He is an unhappy man, because all he sees is the injustice he keeps himself informed about. However he leaves himself no time to be immersed in the humanity around him on a daily basis and is thus isolated.
Sure the things he is trying in vain to act against are wrong and evil, but because he only ever loks at the bigger picture and forgets the personal veiw, he doesn't see the look of disappointment on his 8 year old kid's face when he says that he can't take him to see a film at the cinema tonight, because he is busy researching <insert political injustice here>.
Have some sesitivity here Akuma. I see very few people here with whom you actualy have an arguement, please argue with those few people. Not fill totally unrelated threads with your agenda. That is completely removing the personal aspect from your time here on disco and it really gets a lot pof people down, because you can't even see how much you are upsetting them.
It is rare that I will be this direct in my comments, but I really think you need to hear this.
That's the problem, I have read the things you posted. Here are some.
Quote:Oh dear dear me... You really, desperately want to be right don't you... thats amusing.
Quote:This whole thing is so incredibly stupid.
Quote:I have found Akumabitos methods of arguement to be lacking in reason almost entirely
You are the kind of guy who likes to be insulting and condescending when it suits you, then trot out the high horse when it suits you. Not really the best kind of guy to be believed when he starts a "why can't we all just get along" spiel, don't you agree?
As far as the guy who seems miserable because he is trying to make the world better, isn't it up to him what he does with his time? I'm not here to do anything but to make disco a better server. I have enough friends, and enough RPing on other forums better suited for RP. I like to RP on the disco server, but not the forum, which is perfectly OK within the rules. I am concerned with factions actions on the server and the appearance of bias in administration there, so that's what I react to here. You are free not to like or even appreciate what I am trying to do here, and to continue to find me lacking in reason, but I hope you have it in you somewhere to see that a just cause is it's own reward for some people.
