We don't play favourites, Igiss would have our hides for it. He really would. I have already been told off for one decision I made. It was not fun for me. We are watched very hard to ensure we abide by our code of conduct. Part of which includes making decisions based of a desire to see the server and community succeed.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
Saying "we don't play favorites" doesn't mean you don't.
Some setups seen by the community as much a further stretch from RP, and strongly PvP oriented slip by with approval while some well RPed, detailed setups simply don't.
How is this not playing favorites? I'm all ears, give me and the rest of us detailed reasoning for these decisions. Is that too much to ask?
When you, as admins, treat some people favorably and deny others when there is no visible difference then don't explain why, what does that look like? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, what is it?
It's not just this one thing either, as you well know.
Its a case of:
give your reasons for your yeses and no's
Because without them, it looks like favouritism. "Lose the snubnose" is not an acceptable answer. If it was "lose the snubnose because of these reasons... etc." then fine
If you say yes there needs to be good reasons too.
Based on PsiBorgs request and your response, I could say, "I'm a corsair who keeps getting pwned. Therefore I need a BH BC so I don't get beaten all the time"
and expect to get a yes.
If your responses are reasoned, then tell the community what those reasons are.
That was very very quick. I owe thanks to Chopper, for starting this thread.
As it stands, I dont know why the snubnose was denied. At the time, I had the approval of both the team within which I run, and the Rheinland Military player faction. I never thought there was a problem, to be honest.
I'd honestly like a reason as to why I have to delete one of my favourite characters, one of the very few I tend to play when I can. "Because we said so" doesn't really count.
Also, you have to bear in mind that if it goes, its going to be replaced by something far better. Which is very annoying for me, as I want to stay away from that red catamaran as much as I can.
If you have valid reasons for denying my possession of a Rheinland Military bomber after a year of use, then please share them with me. I'll be more than happy to listen and to adress any misgivings you have about my choice of ship.
I must say, I don't think there is much favoritism going on, but when things are done so simple as "yes" or "no" with no further explanation, it is VERY easy for anyone to assume there is. And I think the assumption of it undermines the system almost as much as if there clearly was.
There are lots of good reason to disallow an idea, and it seems the best if the people could know what they were.
Del, and Hood, we've had discussions. I would hope that you know how much I respect you admins.
All of you. I'm one of the first to jump to the Admins defense.
But what the people in this thread are saying is simply this:
"You said No (or yes), to my RP, some of which involves other people or has been fine for 12 months.
Can you tell me why the answer is no or yes? I want to learn what to avoid or what I can do."
I also think more transparency about why the answer is "No," or "Yes" is needed.
Please take that 5 minutes and give us the reasons for your yes or no decisions.

It's not just this one issue either. Admins hide questionable decisions behind a wall of silence and a topic lock all the time. It's time, for the sake of the community they have promised to help, for some sunshine to shine on these questionable rulings.
Of course we know that won't happen, and we all know why.
Openness is only a bad thing for those that have something to hide, right Del?
You can't deal a deck of "Because we said so" cards and not expect the favoritism word to start being thrown around.
If they want respect on their decisions, explain them like reasonable human beings. You have the power of gods here on the forums, earn it. If they can't do that, we need some new damn admins.
