I guess i'm not the only one who feels, this is only the spike of the iceberg.
For a longer time now i have watched the unhappy tendency of the server pending more and more towards pvp than rp. As soon as rush hour is, you cannot undock without anyone is trying to overrun you. There is no place to advance rp, cause you have to fight for selfdefense and if you loose, well thats it for todays rp on this char.
At the same time, players who want to set a good example and officially requesting something with more or less understandable rp are punished for their fairness by denies.
Whenever i'm online i see much worster stuff in-game and it does increase. I do not report them, because i don't want to waste my spare time in writing rvr's all day long. I speak to some of them and if they do not care i ignore them.
Anyway, as long as players are showing fairplay by involving admins, they should be treated accordingly, fair.
Psi-Borg's GB along with everything about Mon'Star, which Psi-Borg is an extension of, has always been run past the Admins before implication occurs. i take Mon'Star and Psi-Borg very seriously and have always worked with the admins on ships changes and the like.
Psi-Borg's words were chosen poorly, granted, but rest assured everything we do is in RP or is based off of our RP.
i have purposefully not addressed the topic at hand, holding my judgement until i aquire a better knowledge of the situation. i only wished to clear up the issue pertaining to Psi-Borg

Which just underlines the favoritism when admins work with some people, and simply say "NO, discussion closed, no explanation given" to others.
Why is transparency wrong in anything the admins do? Maybe there is bias here, maybe there isn't, but when people are treated differently under the same set of rules and there is no openness, it certainly leaves the taste of personal bias on the process, doesn't it?
The sad part is that the forum as a whole has supported this process of hiding the reasons behind admin choices when it suits them, and that has lead to this.
Why can't everything be done in the open and above board?
Ok, I like it 'till now. Just don't let this become a flame-fest thread since it's gonna get locked in that case.
While we'r being civil and discussing in a polite manner we can keep it open and ask for reasons.
I'm not saying anyone flamed 'till now, I'm just saying no one should in the future. At least not here.
There's another, similar, topic that can serve that purpose.
Anyway, whole point is that we do not see things changed with this new sub-forum.
And if we don't see them, we don't feel them either, so there are no changes as far as we know.
Admins can still authorize or deny however they like without any explanation, which was pretty much like before.
So this system is failing and we need another one, or we need to change the current one.
We need strict rules which will be obeyed by both parties, both players and admins.

4 Pages, 9 hours, 1 admin post and not a single explanation? Come on guys, you can't hide behind the curtain of silence forever. All we're asking for is a reason ...
To do with transparency, all you have to do is look at just about every governmental structure and you'll see a massive lack of transparency in most areas. Most authoritative structures have some sort of opaqueness about them.
I too would prefer transparency in cases such as these, instead of flat answers.
However, I've already PMed Fellow Hoodlum and hope to recieve a response some time in the near future. If details arent publishable in the public domain, then they should be disclosed to me personally. If that doesn't happen either... well, Ill deal with that if the time comes.
Please dont destroy this thread Akumabito. I'd like it to be a discussion on admin rulings on the issue of special roleplaying characters, rather than an admin bash. This issue affects many more people than just me and i'd really not like it if this issue was swept under the carpet like so many issues nowadays.

I'm not destroying this thread. I'm giving my $.02, I leave it to others who disagree with me to destroy threads.
If this is a process that is supposed to allow special RP and improve overall RP, then no part of it should be private. A look at some of the responses, like Del's reply to the Harvester BC idea, certainly show the privacy doesn't exist to spare anyone's feelings. If they are willing to shoot straight then let them shoot straight openly and for everyone.
I would just like to add some points. Ill try not to bash anyone
Things you guys may have forgot to mention.
why i think the new system doesn't function:
(I'm saying this without sarcasm, totally serious)
1) Igiss. Our beloved Admin, has written the perfect set of rules we all agree with (or at least most of us)
-this may not sound as a problem firsthand but have you noticed that they are ignored?
-the admin team (minus Igiss) seems to use the old system of approval with arguments that the admin team is still debating it
-mind the post where Hoodlum tells us how its ok for an admin to ignore the fact that Igiss wrote we should post our Terrorist requests on the Special char. forum.
The thread concerning this was moved i believe....but some would go as far and say "why does mon'star have the right to post his Terrorist story for approval and i don't?" (im only talking about posting requests here....let alone actual admin approvals)
-Del tells us that our characters are not automatically approved...not even those without a TerrorID request. see for yourself
I believe Del when he tells me that he is doing it for the good of the community. But so am I by posting this message. And the argument that "Igiss would have your hides" is a bit....unbelievable. Ive been tracking his activity for this last month...he is online only every 2-4 days and only for a few hours. (this specifically meaning his forum activity. So i cant really believe that he will notice if you do something wrong.)
Someone may go as far and say that you might be abusing this fact, which i personally don't want to believe. I want to believe in your professionalism.
2) Igiss might never see this thread if we don't spam him with requests to look at it. Unless he sees the comunitys complaints he will never be able to change the way our admin team functions right now.
-and i doubt Del or Fellow are willing to change on their own.
Del is convinced that what he is doing is for the good of us all.
Hoodlum thinks this thread is childish. So i don't think he will understand us.
Igiss is our only hope...if there's any hope to save this new system.
' Wrote:I believe Del when he tells me that he is doing it for the good of the community.
The problem with that logic is that it's easy to justify bias with that excuse, in fact that's probably the most often used excuse for bias and discrimination.
The community is best server, I believe, by open and honest admins who don't hide behind locked threads and who are not afraid to discuss why they did something.
I can see the admin point, I believe they are afraid that if they allow everyone the same leeway then the rules are meaningless, everyone will have a special rp character. My point would be if these truly are characters that help RP, then that's a good thing. Lets fill the server with them, and not play favorites.
