This needs to be looked at seriously, and like i said before perhaps best choice is to abolish the speech laws unless agreed by a majority of admins that the language was used in an oorp hateful context.

My feeling is that if you have to think about whether the word is alright or not, you are safer not using it. If you choose to risk it, deal with the consequences.
Well, I try to avoid explatives in RP, though inevatably a 'Damn' or 'Hell' slips out. Personally, when I hear that, I'm not too concerned. But I think we should limit it to that.
If you absolutely HAVE to namecall in an RP context, then make up a swear replacement. In my case, I call everyone 'Meat', 'Meatbag', 'Protien', and occasionally use 'WTF/WTH' in an RP context (the actual letters, pronounced as letters, as I AM a robot).

Granted, Zelot, but it should be defined. There WILL be times when something that someone does just tees you off to no end and out of reaction come the insults. There are times it's warranted in my book. Read my first post of this thread for an example. While I know there are kids, and many truly act like them, they also hear and see worse at school nowadays. I know that in the case of Doc Holliday, he wasn't afraid to give a few choice words to those who crossed him so for me, it would be rp. Of course I'm not going to drop F bombs as a "choice word" but I will refer to someone as a "scum sucking etc etc."
Orin has a good idea too, foreign languages. Not everyone speaks them so that works.
Apart from that it is highly unlikely that the Admins will approve/produce a list of banned words as it could be abused.
For example, if the word "bob" was a swear word but for some reason the hypothetical list did not include "bob". Someone says "bob" and it offends someone else, and that someone else sanctions the person who said "bob". Then, the person who said "bob" says that "bob" was not on the list and gets away with inappropriate language. Hence, problematic.
' Wrote:Remember tho, there are ALOT of kids that play on this server. Thus using profanity really isn't too much appealing to the younger ones. I highly believe that this specific rule was made because of that. Players shouldn't be lost because someone else is providing a bad example by going around and cursing everyone
Hmmm "the Kids are playing here" thing again, well those "Kids" that are playing here have more harsh words
in vocabulary then most of the oldest,
just a reminder here from me just check their RP Stories and then check their Birthdate so you will know what i mean......

every single person here has his own opinion about harsh language, so it is hard to say what is forbidden and what not, and i am thanking the Admin Team that they have to judge it and doing it right. :)
If something really annoying happens to me in game, i always swear in group chat (since it's more of a way to release anger then a personal insult), if i am really really really annoyed, i'll do it on skype or console. At least somewhere i can't insult anyone directly.
If i want to aim my anger towards the person causing it, i mostly avoid any coarse language, and make up my messages in such a way that you would have to read in between the lines to notice what i actually mean.
Coarse language is a language too, and everyone uses it, some more often then others though. If you can't take an insult or two, you shouldn't provoke people to use them.
