So using common sense we can say something like "OMFG! THIS WAS ALL ABOUT SUPER NOVA! THAT F***IN DUMB @$$." is OK, since it didn't draw a sanction and the person who posted it was made an admin?

Again, mate, you are just too smart by far. But time passes and things change. Standards change. People make mistakes.
You're a funny guy Akuma. S'funny how you pick on one post and one thing constantly, might I suggest getting out some more? Perhaps taking some early evening walks? I'm no doctor but all this pent up rage must be giving you an ulcer - Del
From an Admin perspective you post that in system chat you'll get sanctioned. You post that on the forums you'll get told off, and yes, two years later you may get made an Admin on your merits rather than one ill advised post. Surely some mistake?
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
How bout this: Look up the word you want to use in Merriam Websters Collegiate Dictionary (mines the tenth edition). When you find the word there look to see if usually considered vulgar is listed after any of its definitions. If it is, then dont use it.
Im not saying that is all inclusive, but it should give you a beginning list.

I happen to work at a rather large engineering firm myself and we highly value professionalism too. If the guy across from me was swearing all the time Id remind him that we are supposed to be professionals and ask him to tone it down.
Perhaps the guy across the hall from you needs a better understanding of the definition of professionalism.
It's funny Del, I think you're the one with the pent up rage. I think it's all kinda funny how the rules move around depending on who you guys apply them to.
BTW Vero, I work at a very large engineering firm and F bombs get dropped here all the time. Then again our culture where I work is one were we settle things between people openly and honestly, we have too because we, like the server, have a very diverse mix of cultures and personalities and we have to work together.
Aku move on before you do something you regret, seriously. i dont see whats the point in constantly arguing points when you are going to loose.

Your trying to slip in other things that belong in completely unrelated discussions and hijacking thread is extremely immature and inane. This isn't the first time that it's happened, but going back just to beat up on someone else is just crossing the line. Absolutely out of line for someone in their 40s.
Keep the discussion on topic, or take a walk and let it cool off.

Back to the point.
We can all agree that the forums and the actual game are intergral right?
That being said, shouldnt it be just as frowned on to swear on the forums as well as on the game? After all small children, and people with sensitive feelings could be reading the forums. Do a search for any swaer word, I gaurntee you'll get alot of hits for almost everyone (F bomb being the exception) Does this mean we should ban people from the forums for 7 days for cussing? Or more logically, just lighten up. keep the F bomb banned, keep B**ch(I use astericks because who knows, there might be a child reading this *Gasp*) banned, but the others, A$$ $h1t etc, cmon, you could prolly take your kid to Chuck E Cheese and still hear it.

And where do F-bombs fit in as openly and honestly? Does it really add anything to what you are saying when you use expletives?
Our firm has offices worldwide and across a multitude of cultures. I dont seem to remember ever having anyone need to use the F-bomb to get a point across in any conference calls.
I'm not beating on anyone, just pointing out that someone reading the forums could easily, within common sense, think insults and thinly veiled cuss words are allowed, when for some players they are not.
That's the point of these threads that ask for rule clarifications, not to get a response like "use common sense", but to get actual clarification on the rule in question.

Language often contains more than the bare minimum needed to make a point. Some points are better made with an expletive, and I think we all can agree it does add something that a non expletive does not, else we wouldn't treat these words differently.
