This is an important message for the SF leadership. Earlier today i caught sight of SF Gareth as i was passing thru the Stuttgart system. As i entered the Trade Lane to Freibrug station (or watever its called) i had several seconds headstart on him.
I was nearing the end of the trade lane wen he randomly passed me, which would have been impossible using the trade lane normally (especially how fast it was he caught up to me from 11k away), leading me to believe he was using the speed mod at maximum velocity.
Thank you for listening to me on this matter, i hope it will be taken seriously.
While you're quite right to bring this to our attention because you believe it was a problem with one of our members, this is probably the wrong place to do it. Message dumps are primarily for roleplay purposes and this is a problem that you should consult an admin on beforehand. As it is, it's quite possible a lag spike could cause him to overtake you in the trade lane. Remember it only takes a couple of seconds to travel over 7k in a trade lane, a bit of lag could easily make that happen and you know what our server is like...
Lancer is also right in that speed-mod only affects regular flight speed, trade lane speed is a universal variable set only by the server, which makes it impossible to change client-side. Please be careful when making cheating accusations on the public forums, nobody likes being labelled especially if it's a misunderstanding. If you have any further troubles I urge you to PM us or an admin about it, where it's not so messy to deal with.

Quote:Container Transport group Defiant was engaged by [Wraith]Shadow, both transports escaped at the cost of 5 million credits. Suggest tightening security along the trade route.
Lance, this is a problem that we encountered several times yesterday. Not only you, but Trip, me and you were attacked by the same character. Both Trip and I were heavily damaged in the incident. I had fled and made it to Norfolk, expecting to meet Firebird there.
However, a misunderstanding on my part, Firebird was waiting to fight [Waith]Shadow at Planet Cambridge. Cargo was lost, and a fight did insue. I helped w/ my container transport best I could, but given my combat loadout, it didn't work out to well.
I will also have SFGB-Tempest stationed very close to the omega-5 jumphole. If any SF and/or allied/neutral traders are attacked and need assistance, kindly ask for it. I will do my best to destroy this hostile threat. Additionally, with the agreement of the Admiral, I will possibly move to engage hostile targets in Omega-5 only if they attack either an SF or RM member in that system. I will only do this if they are under attack. Otherwise, SFGB-Tempest will remain in Bretonia. This is to prevent any problems with Cambridge Research Institute in the transport of certain cargo.

BTW: how did that battle end, Firebird?

My fighter was destroyed, I managed to eject and get picked up by BAF forces. The Wraith fighter was heavily damaged and was last seen being chased off by local BAF and police forces.
OOC: Half the fight was spent not just dodging fire from each other, but a small fleet of NPC ships firing on both of us, lol. It was a good fight, both our weapons loadouts were missing something which made it more challenging.
For the defense fleet, moving outside of Bretonian space to offer assistance is acceptable, but avoid being drawn too far out of position.
We should be able to provide sufficent protection on the Bretonian end of trade routes, once more of the defense fleet comes online. Routes to Rheinland would be covered by them at their end. While routes to Omicrons would be covered by the Bs|. Another option maybe the enlistment of AW support, although at this point I don't think that'll be necessary.

Not to worry, Admiral, for the gunboat will only leave Bretonian space if requested by a trader in omega-5. This is the farthest out it will ever endeavor to be, and only if the trader cannot make it out of the system themselves.
Once Battleship Sierra is recommissioned, it will be the one, if in close proximity, to respond to these calls. Additionally, my fighter, again, once commissioned, will leave Bretonian space, thus leaving SFGB-Tempest to direct 100% of its efforts towards the defense of Bretonia.
As of 22 hundred hours last night, SFGB-Tempest was commissioned.
Finally, I do not think that having AW help out would be the best idea. It would be a slow chipping at our funds, as they are mercenaries, and if it was ever necessary, I wonder if the contract could be terminated without repercussions. However, I am not sure how Bs| would feel about this, as their primary goal is to destroy nomads.

There's no contract made with AW, nor will their like be one if it where to be a drain on our supply of funds. Consider it a last ditch option, or something I'm keeping in the back of the mind. So just to repeat and be perfectly clear...there's NO contract with AW, we're completely neutral at the moment.
Anyways, glad the SFGB-Tempest has been commissioned. Same with the SFDS-Bastion (Destroyer) and the SFGB-Unity. The fleet is rebuilding and we'll soon be back to full strength.

Sir, it has come to my attention a dishonourably discharged (read: banned) member of ours is due to return to flight soon. The returning pilot goes by the name Maximilian, I'm sure you're aware of his position. I'd like to know his status within the Federation though, whether he will be allowed to return to active duty in our ranks?
Also, my Gunboat [SF]-SFGB-Cmdr.Badger has also been commissioned now. One thing I would like to bring attention to is the loadouts of our Gunships, in particular the weaponry supplied to us by the Order. A particular turret model designed for Gunboat class vessels has a known manufacturing flaw (read: bugged, Korrd has reported it already so continued use could be considered exploitation), and is prone to obliterating our Bretonian built powerplants. Until the problem is resolved I strongly recommend unmounting any Order Gunboat turrets our fleet has loaded.
