Yeah, I've been fighting McNeo (Who without missiles can barely touch me, No offense m8) but when I come into weapons range of him, his missiles completely decimate me.

I agree with that comment.
ALSO: Missiles & Explosions IMO should be *completely* outlawed in this competition.
And I have an *extremely* valid reason for this:
Anything that does damage to an "explosion radius" IE Cannonball does 4k+ damage to anything within it's 50m radius. Does double, triple, and even sometimes QUADRUPLE damage to a Vanilla fighter, while the newer fighters take only the base damage, one time.
So, this pretty much make it so every custom ship (non vanilla) can take multiple missile hits, while a single salvo of 2 Sidewinders will kill off even a MK8 Armored eagle in 1 shot. (excluding shields ofcourse)
So all in all, having two missiles allowed in this tournament, is like allowing every fighter to use a Sunslayer torpedo launcher with better tracking that is almost undodgable at close range.
well...when u go head to head with me (or any average skilled missile user) and when i fire my missiles in certain range from u, u simply cant dodge them, no matter how god pilot u are or how fast your reflexes are......if they miss it is only my fault..not your skill...
although i cant participate in that tournament, which i am very sorry, i would prefer no missiles and no shield busters...fights are much more fun and players must make more dangerous approaches when attacking....
i fear that some fights will reduce to one pass to kill shields and second pass of missiles for final punch....
i wish the best luck to all players in tour...and let the best man (or woman) win....
if server gets full that day and all of u have fun then all community will be winners...

Seems the general census on missiles is in agreement.
Wow this is great, shame its been scheduled when I have a conflicting engagement.
The excuses for losing are being reeled out already.
I thought the rules had been set and everyone invited to participate as they are. I'm
now looking forward to the result, but even more, the reasons why everybody else
lost.
Set em up accordingly guys ... Or set another tournament, I believe this one is Virus's
baby, and hes done the groundwork.
Spam it ... Hehe

Sure, you can dodge a billion missiles if they're fired far enough away from you, that's not in question. If you think the level of skill required to fight against missiles is equivalent to fighting with, then I think you're mistaken.

Ask Nesa. I shoot him like 140 missiles in the last fight i had with him and, of those, only 3 or 4 hit.
Ask to Firebird too. I shoot him all my missiles and mines and none, NONE, hit him.
Who else... Yes, Dboy.. Only a few of the 70 missiles and mines i shot at him hit. None caused enough damage. And he shot me like 40 sunslayer and of those only one hit my shields, causing no damage. (that fight was the longest fight i ever had. 1:20 hours).
And i don't fire them from long distance, i shoot at point blank.
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )

Korrd, my point is *not* the accuracy. (However the accuracy on Sidewinders is obscene)
It's the fact that vanilla fighters will die INSTANTLY with hit with simple Sidewinders, while the new fighters (Raven Claw, Raven Talon, Talon, Cylon Raider, ect ect ect ect) shrug off a missile hit and keep on trucking.
Korrd, that is the 'certain range' he talks about.
Anyway, I agree with the DO, Badger and whoever is against missiles/mines, but I agree with Hood too, this is Virus' baby, let's do it his way.
We can organize another tournament - guns only, Vanilla only, NewTech, AlienTech... imagination is the limit!
Let's even organize these on a regular basis, weekly or monthly... would put a bit of sense into some level 89 characters I've been seeing around lately ;)
