So um... Why does the Wrath still have only four class ten guns? It doesn't even have a forward firing turret! So, when compared to a Sabre, I'm down two guns, if you count the forward firing turret on the Sabre. This brings a rather... Unfortunate disadvantage to the majority of fighters out there.
@Virus: The Wrath is quite more agile that the Sabre, admit it, it's a flying brick. A fifth level 10 gun might be ok, but a turret would be too much. The Wrath is one of the best VHFs in the mod.
A suggestion in light of the recent events (i.e. shieldrunning). Since the people with fighters have to mount either a Cruise Disruptor or a Torp mounted weapon like the Nova because of obvious reasons. Now, what I think:
Could we have both - Cruise Disruptors and Torp mounts on the VHFs? Not both be able to mount torps just one to be Cruise Disruptor only and the second to be Disrupter/Torpedo mount.

*bows down to Nightfall* Oh My god hell yes! We need a torp and CD for ships the whole thing with not being able to catch people when they run or not being able to defend one's self from a cap in a fighter is annoying and what people wouldn't have both anyways?
The reason for this is, the fighter has to make a choice. Either disrupters, ore heavy hitters. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. But both together isn't how its supposed to work. Say a pirate comes after you. Okay, you can shoot back and try to get him to waste all his CDs in time. Oh wait, he has those AND a nova cannon. Nevermind, one disrupt, a few hits. Boom I'm dead.
There is no chance for anything that way. the fighter has to choose. Not get it all laid out and easy for him. Its a tactical decision, not a burden to be fixed.

You got me wrong, mate. I was tryin' to say just up the fifth gun moun to ten. Getting a forward firing turret would mean moving it, which isn't worth bothering, and would, in effect, make the Wrath well overpowered. Which would end with an overbalance... And we'll just not go there.
No, because then no VHFs can use them at all. Making piracy with them impossible. Plus LFs don't have the firepower to punch through a transport. Only against freighters and other fighters. Can't take the CDs off VHFs. Traders would then be invincible, except against gunboats.
I say leave it as it is. They choose between one or the other. They can't have both. But neither should the VHF be limited to one (LF is for obvious reasons..).

OK, glad we solved that. The Avenger and Guardian are around the performances of a Wrath but they do have the same layout plus a 360 degree firing turret, so I guess the Wrath might be OK to have 5x Class 10 gun/missile mounts...

Dab, my reference was to a lot of people practicing the 'come to a system and get yourself chased for 3 hours if there are more than 2 chars on you' routine, you have to admit that 2 VHFs with Novas can't do too much to a good capship pilot without them having shieldbusters. I wouldn't be ranting about this, but a lot of people are doing that. They will of course come and attack a single VHF. Or do we get to mounting 4x Tizona and a Nova? or something similar?
Stupid idea probably: have an 'Interdictor' Gun (class9) that would be the energy gun variant of the cruise disruptor missile? I don't know, I've seen a lot of stupid ideas here, I might put one myself...

Actually, the interdictor doesn't sound like a bad idea.. No tracking, just shoots straight. It costs about 2 bars of energy or so, but also does some decent damage. It should travel at about 500mps, making in-cruise disruptions possible if your a good enough aim, but still slightly difficult since you have unlimited ammo, since CDs don't like to go their proper speed...
This way you can get a CD variant, one thats hard to use and takes decent amount of power from you. And you can use the Nova cannon with it for heavy hitting.
Yes, Dab, it seems we might be getting an idea here.
Igiss, what are your thoughts about this? You've witnessed yourself some of the running, it's really annoying to chase someone like that and not being able to do anything else than hit cruise and pursue...
my two cents...
btw, I just remembered, the hitbox on the Corsair Dreadnought seems to be off for about half the height of the ship (I passed through the lower half of it while doing a bomb run and it was spun by the NPCs so I couldn't avoid ramming it myself).
