I know I'm new to this mod, but one of the things I've noticed is that any ship based off a vanilla model is at a significant disadvantage. Most vanilla based ships lose wings and other parts very quickly, which have equipment mounted on them, so the equipment falls off as well. I suggest that either you find a way to make the new ships breakable with wings and such, or give the various ship parts like wings extra hit points so they aren't blown off by on catapult missile as they are now.
In general, the ones using vanilla models have higher hitpoints.
For example, the Manta has a high rating (doesnt compromise against a sunslayer though lol:crazy:) of armour for its agility. The RH bs and Nomad bs also have higher armour ratings than the Corsair Dread or the Liberty Carrier. Igiss tries to balance things out and IMO it works fairly well.
I know. I was disappointed to find bot of them could lose their thrusters with 1 fairly easy shot. IMO neither of those ships can be flown for that reason. Once the thruster is gone it's game over. But the manuverability and HP may be enough to offset this danger.
Actually having a nomad thruster, adv. CM dropper along with a nuke mine dropper will not save you from losing the tail fin (which all three items are mounted onto) when getting shot at with capship missiles (NPC and player ones will blown it off really easily).
And once that happens you have two choices, go buy them again... or ram the nearest planet/sun.
And thats just flying the chimaera or blood dragon VHFs and the dragon HF.
On my RH bomber the first thing to go is the CM dropper. *sighs* That's made me die a few times *points to Mcneo and SF*
