Juan Diez was born in the year 793 AS, in the small corsair base know as Cadiz. His parents, Iliana Diez, and Carlo Ruiz were middle class citizens of Crete who smuggled artifacts for their income. At 14 years old, Juan's father Carlo was killed by Outcasts. From then on, he wanted to avenge his father, which he knew he could not do merely by smuggling. He entered the Cadiz combat academy at age 16, and graduated with a class 1 degree in ship to ship combat, and a class 3 degree in engineering. He was given a dirty startracker, for his grades. After that, he left home to pirate, and kill enemies of Cadiz.
Juan woke up, he had been traveling for days, trying to get to Omega-3. So far, the only thing that had happened was an encounter of some bounty hunters. He smiled at the thought- they hadn't stood a chance. In a few hours, he had reached the jump hole, and was in Omega-3. He went to Wilkes Ice Field, and set up there. He only caught a few traders, but he got just enough money to buy a Legionnaire, and weaponry. Then he went to Omega-3, to patrol and make sure that the Hessians would not attack Cadiz.
Part 3, Back in Cadiz
"Yar!" Sparta shouted as he led the charge to destroy the bounty hunters that dared to attack Cadiz, in the end, the Corsairs won, with no extreme harm done to them, except for 1. Back on Cadiz, Juan was given the call sign of "Fenix" because he was thought to be dead, but was only unconscious. In the bar, Juan sadly found that his mother had died. He wished he had been there for her, but he knew there was nothing he could do. Juan talked with some old friends, and bought them some Cretan ale. After he had finished, he went back into space to continue pirating...
Part 4, leaving the guild:
Fenix decided to leave the Omega Pirate's Guild for several reasons... Juan went bankrupt because he couldn't pay the taxes; most of the higher up Omega Pirate's Guild members despised him; and he hated the restrictions that the guild enforced upon it's members. Fenix kept his equipment and ships, and based himself on Crete, instead of Cadiz, only stopping there when necessary. Life for Juan Diez continued much the same as it had before, he continued pirating, and getting drunk on the excellent Cretan ale that the bartender brewed.
