Hoi Mates! Here's a story to lighten the heart and brace a spirit of faith in yer fellow man! Just a few short hours ago, I launched the Duke on a routine patrol out of Gran Can and stone me... Surrounded by a whole mess o' Caps including the [TAZ]Veranda.Vixen and a coupla Research ID'd boogers, one of whom was chuggin' around in a ZBT Whale...Oh Noes! Sad to say Researcher Yuzzul_Aetemus didn't have permision to fly the ship and he and his mate Carpe_Noctum knew it.
Anyways...Reggie persuaded 'em very reasonably to trade the ZBT in, but the boys wanted to go sell their Gaian Wildlife first. So we struck a deal for me to escort them over to Oder Shipyard to swap out the ship after recycling their greenery on the way.
All great and good, I had no idea if they'd try to renege on the deal along the way, bear in mind there were a lot of creds at stake here and I was all on my lonesome in my bomber, so I was pretty itchy to start off. But we chatted along the way all pally like with no big encounters on the journey, although a coupla Corsairs started sniffing around, but shyed off pretty quick and Oder was reached without a scratch on our hulls.
And you know what? They did the trade, swapped out the ZBT for a Train, thanked me for the escort and dropped a large tip in Eris' peanut jar without any kinda duress.
See the cam shots..Welcome these boys when you see 'em next eh?

Just goes to show folks. The way of the gun ain't always necessary.
The mood on the bridge of the bortaS was somber. Commander Rajuc had just taken formal leave of the bortaS, and gone to his new command on the negh'var. With him went about half of the ship's crew, and many of the Klingons on board were new. The remaining officers, though, were some of Rajuc's best, and after some adjustment, this new chapter in the bortaS's history would be as noble and honorable as the previous one.
The door at the back of the bridge opens, admitting Lieutenant Torghun, one of the new officers. Everyone on the bridge stood to attention. Torghun walks to the center of the bridge, and speaks formally.
"I am Torghun, son of Krivok. I now take my place as first officer. I serve the Captain, but I stand for the crew."
A moment passes.
"Who brings the record of battle for this ship?"
The chief gunner brings a datapad forward, and hands it to Lieutenant Torghun.
"I, K'tal son of K'mtar, weapons officer of the bortaS present the glorious record of our honor and hope you that you find us worthy of your leadership."
Torghun reads over the information on the datapad for a moment. Once he is finished, he addresses the bridge crew again.
"This vessel has earned an impressive and honorable record, and all of you are worthy of my blood and my life. It will be an honor to stand for you, as we bring greater honor to our ship, and our people!"
The crew raises a cheer, but it is quickly muted as the doors open again, and the ship's new captain, Commander Kaiev, the ship's former second officer, walks on to the bridge. He stands before the captain's chair, and looks around at his crew. Lieutenant Torghun hands Commander Kaiev the datapad.
"I have accepted the crew's record of battle. On their behalf, I pledge you our lives and ask you to lead us as commander of this ship."
Kaiev looks over the entire bridge crew, looking each one in the eye before he replies.
"I accept your lives into my hands."
Kaiev sits in the command chair.
"Take your stations!"
With the ceremony complete, the crew settled down to their stations. Only the future would tell what glories would await the bortaS.

I had a successful meeting yesterday evening with the Ambassador of the Gallic Council and I wanted to pass that info to you. They are looking for goods on Planet Marne and on Macon Base and some of their other bases as well. Luxury Consumer goods to Macon, platinum, quantum multiplexers and iridium to Planet Marne are some big wants. If you consult your neural net maps and trade charts, you will find many, many more. They have many good things you can leave with to include tobacco, halo tainment bands, prometheum and of course, the Maquis and Brigands have good we can use out there.
If you do venture out there, be very careful. the LCOG tagged ships will provide escort if asked and giving a donation will be helpful. I intend to make a large one at some point. They will treat TAZ as VIPs so show them good respect.
Secondly, I spoke with {SOB}Cool Breeze as well. If you want to brave the Omicron 80/Lorraine minefield as an end-a-round Languedoc then feel free. Mr. Cool Breeze told me that we are welcome to do so. Just do your business and don't interfere. If you want to thank them, they could use cryo cubes. They won't expect your whole load but some would show some favor.
I negotiated the minefield in my transport. Go slow and be kool and you will be fine.
Lastly, the travel advisory for Kusari still stands. If you don't have to fly through it, don't. If you do, do so in transit only. If you visit Okinawa for plutonium, purchase it at Furyoku. I don't want anyone getting hurt or killed due to the war and the piracy.

Well, if that route into Gallia is opened to us, I'll be more than happy to start taking trips up there, with the needed goods and supplies. As you may or may not know, I'm quite accustomed to that territory, though it's probably changed somewhat since I last travelled it... though, I imagine I'll be getting around just fine despite the dynamics of Gallia. Anyone's welcome to tag along with me if they'd like... if and when I decide to take a journey north.
I've been hired as a researcher for something called The Hitchhiker's Guide to Sirius. My first job is finding out the history of the TAZ, so if anyone could hepl me with that...
Annette out.

I am at Tombstone for now and yes, she gets her feet rubbed almost nightly now. While she isn't due until the end of May, we have much coming up. Lamazz classes and I've been working with Grady to finish the baby's room. I'll take a bit of a leave when our daughter arrives. We're still discussing names so......
Annette, consult the library at Shasta for your research. E-Prime himself would be best suited to answer your questions.
