Things to spend credits on

I am looking for ideas of things that rich characters can spend credits on besides capitol ships. I have just reached one billion and have no interest in a battleship. The only other really expensive items I can think of is Cap VII-VIII armor or trying out every large transport.

It would really be great if there were non-combat things you could spend a lot of money on. You should get something for your money. Some people have suggested that you should have to buy 'fuel' for your ships. But this is just a money sink, you dont get anything for it.

My first idea was that many (perhaps 1/2) bases would require you to buy 'docking rights' before you could could dock there. As your trader grew rich he/she could buy more docking rights and have more routes available. The trouble with this is that I don't see any way to do this 'in-game'. It would require the forums and that would be to much work/traffic and to easily abused.

So my proposal is a new MERCHANT faction or factions. (MERCHANTS-Venice, MERCHANTS-Rome, etc). These factions would all be initially hostile. The only way to land on their base(s) would be to purchase a VERY expensive bribe. Say 100-500 million. They could have some great trading deals, or even a few unique items.

Any other ideas for rich characters to quit hording that cash? Please tell us!

I like the idea of moneysinks, but I'd rather have those moneysinks go into things that promote interaction (barges) instead of being cloistered away (faction systems). Keep thinking of ideas though.

All I can really see this doing is making people powertrade more. People who hoard money tend to do so for a reason, with the exception of yourself:P

I think a better idea would be a one time event that might grant them some cool stuff, but nothing that would make them overpowered or anything. Perhaps some sort of sexy ass prestige liner or sommat.

Trading factions should sell shares and come up with a way to give returns to the investors. On that note someone come up with the sirus exchange and make it work.

Apart from upgrading equipment, buying more armour, changing ship lights and renaming your character, there is not much else you can do.

Same here. I got my first billion and i am not interested to buy a battleship. I tried to organize a racing event this week with starfliers and spend 220 millions there. It seems that people didn't like my idea or they don't trust me yet. :(
Try to make some events and spend some money there. Maybe you can make some people feel excited and have some fun with them.
