How much would you like to earn per hour?
Why isn't 25-30 million enough?
You want to get more? Organize a mining op.
Can't be assed? Ah what a shame.
I wouldnt say that trade routes don't bring enough profit. There are great ones, semi great ones and low ones where noone bothers you though.
But I know there's a good living to make in more than few factions + smugglers + whatever.
Please tell me what routes do you do, why do you take that route exactly and how much would you like to earn per week?
I mean, hour a day of trade = 30million if you cant make an effort to mine around.
Lets say most of you don't work, so you can do a run in the morning, run in the evening. 60million.
A day. Multiply it by 5 days, because lets say you only want pvp on weekends, no trades. Thats 300million.
4 weeks of that and you have a capital ship.
On top of that, some people do missions, pirate or terrorize around.
There are good incomes from that as well.
First of all, each house produces each commodity. Have buy points for everything in each house.
Second of all, each house uses each commodity. Have sell points for everything in each house.
Set up routes for everything within a single house and system, so folks can do lower profit runs within a single system/house, and have running from house to house get more profit for certain items.
Do the same with Ore, it doesnt make sense that out of all of humanity only the Kusari can refine silver, for example.
Remove the big profit routes and the general chokepoints, folks spread out.
That forces pirates to spread out.
That spreads everyone out, which over time reduces the over crowding in liberty.
Well, actually. Holman outpost buys niobium ore. You dont have to haul it to rheinland. Gold ore is sold in Kenningston shipping outpost I believe, and in Detroit munitions. Wanna guess does anyone sell there?
There are points where you can unload your ore for a less price. Usually far less price, but they are there and they aren't so commonly used.
However, I don't see a point in making gold ore sell in Rheinland, Kusari and Liberty for same price. People will never sell to a certain place then but always use the closest one. Liberty. It's like 5 jumps away.
Keep in mind that not all the houses have same commodities.
Liberty, Rheinland, Bretonia etc love optronics. Kusari loves gold, hi-temp alloy, mox, etc...
There really is plenty of stuff to trade around.
Ok so maybe while gold - military vehicles makes 75mil in 2 hours, while Vip / Passangers / lux consumer goods makes 68, but is it really such a dire loss?

To be honest, I would like to earn around 50 million an hour. If I could, I would like to earn 100 million per week.
I have tried miners now, twice. I still have my second attempt miner as well. Shooting rocks does not seem to appeal to me, however, I tried to set up an operation. Got around two loads of it done, then timezones, lack of contact, and so on. Basically, relying on other people for me to make credits does not seem to work. Especially since I work, and my hours are sporadic. (However, obviously, I am lackadaisical and not up to the effort.)
I do Cardamine and Slaves when it comes to trading. In my smuggler. I do random, always-changing routes in my Zoner Guard. When push comes to shove, especially in the face of the nerfing of Zoners, I am not going to play a corporation trader. At this point in time, I believe I never will. (Oh, and I occasionally do the Slaves and Alien Organisms route if I ever log on to the shared ZAS~ liner.)
Between work and other FL commitments, like playing on factionalised characters, reading various skype chats to work out what needs to be done, like the OHC one, and writing RP, either on the forums, or on one of the 9001 notepads lying in my cupboard, I struggle to find time to trade more than one hour, if that.
PVP rarely happens for me. I do fly around a bit though.
I see what you mean, but dont.. get me wrong but i'll say something now:
I have erased all my characters except kishiro and Mentira.
I had a bounty hunter orca, poof. Dragon bomber, hogosha ptrans
Corsair smuggler, Kruger miner. These ships are all gone now.
I don't find time to play them and keep my income to be fruitful enough.
Here's the deal. I know having alot of characters seems great, and I know that playing each of them is fun, othervise you wouldn't really make them.
But when I erased mine I started comparing them to the loans you take.
If you buy too many things on a loan, more than you can cover with your paycheck, you are bound to end up in trouble. Ofcourse trading seems like an chore when you have 5 million credits and you simply HAVE TO trade, but the more cash I have.. easier I find myself heading on trading or even a mining op with a faction mate or two.
Zoners can still run profitable routes. More profitable than Corsairs for example, and that's noting to be ashamed of, Corsairs can pirate for income after all. The nerf of certain zoner aspects didn't harm some of those routes but I get what you mean.
Think about it tho, there has to be a learning curve. It really does not take one much to get from starflea mining copper in colorado to a CSV mining gold in dublin, to a more decent ship and eventually a 5k train.
Or most of this is skipped when joining a trading or a zoner corp. Corps tend to give you things so you start faster.
with 50 million a hour, I would probably make 100 million a day, or every two days. Combined with the ore I sell every 3 days, I would probably make 400-500mill a week.
Someone more dedicated who has more than 4 hours a day to kick ass in this game would make up to 1.2bil a week. Why do we need that?
Do we really need everyone in CAU8, or do we need people to say "Hell, I sweat blood for this ship to make it the strongest one, I deserve it!"

Most of my cruisers sit there gathering dust, to be honest. I am not going to sell them, but I do not play them too much, if at all. So, the cost of running such a large capital collection does not exceed ten million per month, if that.
I do not have many expenses, but I do not have much income. Either that, or my income is too close to my expenses. Oh, and I never take loans. Or never take ones which I do not pay back in an hour or so to be more accurate. If I want something, for instance, adding a new cruiser to my collection, I make money on my own steam to purchase it.
Never tried a Corsair route, and I can say that my smuggler with less cargo makes more profits than a Zoner 5k. That is not because smuggling has a higher payout either.
When people have to power-trade to the levels that they do, myself included, for such high armour, or such big, and significantly useless ships, suggestions of restrictions, getting blown up, getting called OoRP, and all those things get very personal. If money was made easier that would not be the case.
Also, if someone has 1.2 billion, what are they going to do with it? Buy armour, buy BS', buy everything? I think it is impossible. Some things are restricted by RP. There comes a point in time, when you make enough credits, that you have to RP to get any further. (I would not mind if everyone got one Capital Armour VIII to be honest. They are overrated.)
and joining a corporation to trade in house space is a no because its a form of protest or because you don't feel they offer enough?
I mean I get you and your stances. But some trade routes I've made for Zoners and Junkers for example are just too sick even today.
Mining for scrap in New London, next to Trafalgar base makes you fill up your salvager in less than 10 minutes. Actually I think that from the point of starting to mine scrap, to the point of selling it at tripoli to make 10mil total is about 10-12 minutes. From there you can take either artifacts or you can actually contact the corsairs that are selling ore they pirated. Its not just me anymore, there's more people doing so. Buying for 3k gold ore for around 30mil, 25 if you haggle a hard bargain in omega 41, and moving to Munich takes as much as 10 minutes via jump holes. You make around 20million profit on that sale, that isn't really risk infected since you're not doing anything illegal, and you've basically passed the points of biggest piracy. From there you can either pick up military vehicles for the Bretonia, or engine components for trafaglar, up to you. There's alot of trade variations. But it is quite rp filling and quite exciting route to do.
Zoners do have a similar thing, it is a shame they have to do it in border world transes, but hey, it is still more cargo than a salvager.
Heading from the Kepler or Yukon or wherever the counterfit software haven is, they can pretty much win the day by dropping it off to battleship fes, and pick up black market munitions for the most direct route back.
Keep in mind that corsairs actually offer tons of cash now for the commodities to drop off, as I know Plutonium to Fes makes as good cash now as it does make when you drop it off to lazaurite base in omega 49.
Mixing the routes with the roleplay adds alot of excitements and builds new bonds in game. Suddenly, trade isn't that much boring.
