Unless of course, you are suggesting that from Alaska, which is already Z21 anyway, they went all the way around, through Rheinland to Omicron Delta, and then into Omicron Minor, for some inane reason.
I never really considered all of Alaska to be Zone 21, but if that's the case I would have to adjust my feelings about Zone 21 being impregnable. I guess the more appropriate comment on my part would have been that the ships seen in Alaska or Omicron Minor would not have used the NY-Alaska JG. I have always considered the area of the minefield and JG in NY and Juneau and the JG in Alaska. Not saying I might not be wrong, just saying that was the assumption I made when making the comments. Also I can assure you ships seen in Alaska and Minor would have come from Delta.
That being said, on the Liner question, I think its a hard balance to keep, if you make them better, everyone will use them if they are not restricted, if they are restricted, no one will use them if they are not made better (except me, I luv my Lux Liner just the way it is, and I only move Human Cargo)

*Shrugs.*
Are you describing the ID change or ZAS dying?
For our listeners back home what nub isn't mentioning that I went well out of my way to inform him prior to the ID change that the ZAS would be accommodated. To say again: I contacted him prior to any change on the server to inform him that the change would be taking place and, being sensitive to the groups unique nature on the server that the group would be given its due consideration. On skype. Went out of my way. Hey n00bl3t just FYI we're changing the ID system make the request and you guys will be good to go. Ok? Ok.
When the SRP request -finally- came in, a considerable time after the change came and went, it was voted on and passed through in the same weekly vote fashion as every other SRP.
Hence my irritation with his freewheeling attempts to paint the other party involved in a negative light through liberal use of misinformation. But this is n00bl3t we're talking about. Expectations of a person who feels comfortable equating incompetence with a text change which he doesn't personally agree with while, apparently, watching with no apparent discomfort as the ZAS fall to pieces as he sits on his thumbs waiting to make a SRP request that he was informed would be needed weeks prior shouldn't fall far from his rhetorical tree.
Extraordinary.
Anyways, yeah, I think the Liner ID change would be nice.
I think that if the world obeyed me, people wouldn't be making (not so) subtle attacks at other people because there'd be less nonsense of this sort.
I think I came up with a fairly reasonable solution -read the last post of the last page- that pleases most people, and should cause few solutions. Make the Liners available to mostly everyone, but restrict their cargo to: Only people and necessary living goods e.g. water, food. Maybe some exceptions for RP events.

I killed a battleship in a Liner once... But you could mount cruiser turrets in those days.

Interesting.
You should keep an eye on a lot of those merc and pirate groups who've weathered the non existent storm very nicely.
But then I suppose I wouldn't know how they do it... As performing such a feat would require a measure of competence.
Sounds like you are referring to the Reavers. Competence? Only people less competent are the admins, oh wait. XD
Beyond that, this thread is 100% agenda pushin'. I'm all for devising a way to make Liners better and/or more open. And nothing complicated please, saying "no more than 50 non-human cargo" makes a lot of routes very difficult since they're people one way and stuff the other... And who's to say that Prison Liner isn't simply filling the cells in it with stuff to transport? Plausible.

The SRP was meant to be done by someone else, but then I had to do it.
Of course, I am talking about the time it took for the SRP to be approved.

So uh. Yeah. I'm outta here.
You have a point... people routes do often require stuff back. Hmm...
Perhaps that should be a necessary sacrifice. It's not that big of a deal; there are probably ways to make up for it. I'm drawing a blank on this one and conceding the point.

Or re-do passanger travel.
Have tourists from various planets as commodities so as to create two way loops.

If either FLhook or rules, or both, are used to restrict them to human cargo only it'd work quite well.
Oh, and forbid escorting or bounty collecting in one as well.
Then buff it.
Sure we'll have abuse of it, but that'll die off as people get sancd.
