While I was drawing some concept art for my book,
I wanted to make those ships, weapons and creatures (yes it's sci-fi) to look more...alive...
First thing that came to my mind was 3D modeling, I was intrigued by the fact that my ships
and creatures can no longer be just drawing on paper or electric impulses in my brain....
They can be real...:shok:
So, I started with the most basic tool I have found: Google SketchUp.
As you can see in the following pictures, I'm not very skilled. But I'm a fast learner, and
I'm willing to learn. It's not exactly what I have in my mind, but it'll do.
And here it is: XA-22 "Leopard" Nanofusion Spacecraft (ignore the nanofusion part, it's just for my book)
I might post some drawings, if someone want me to.
Tips and criticism are welcome (yes I know it's boxy)
not bad not bad at all
I like the basic shape, but I find that it is a bit too flat...maybe you can angle down the two front engine pylons slightly it would look better?
I've been working hard on this model, but it's too complicated to make a ship in SketchUp. Just now it begins to surface, SketchUp is not very good for ship models, let alone some detailed capital ships...
So, I'm looking for a new tool to model and the first thing that came to my mind is Milkshape 3D. So, any suggestions on which 3D modeling program should I start to model (like a beginner's program) ?
If you want to try and improve, take a look at a picture of an aircraft, spaceship, or whatever you want. Take inspiration from it and constantly refer back to it. Don't copy it, but look at curves and features which you could adapt and make your own.
And yeah the model looked horribly, now it's much better but I'm not satisfied.
@Birdtalon: Yes! I have been looking into many imagined and real vehicles, I already got the picture in my head but the problem is the tool [ Which has been resolved (thanks Akka) ].
So, you won't be hearing from me for some time, I've got alot of work to do....
Thanks again everyone for comments and criticism ( And if I have time I'll make a Mantrain;))
