/setescort & /pingescort

This is an idea to aid escorts in their hunt for money, and for traders/miners to find some escorts that are in the system. In this concept the escort players hit the command /setescort on/off, this tells the server or FLHook that they are an escort looking to be hired.

Now, that command needs to work in tandem with this command /pingescort. This command would look through the current system for anyone who has turned their /setescort to on. The user of the /pingescort then gets a message that says how many escorts are in the system. If its possible or warranted for, it could show the names of the escorts too.

I know that people can RP "Escort for hire" or "Looking for escort". This isn't meant to replace that, but its meant to help improve the speed and lessen the pain a little bit.

the "in system spammers" noobs will not know of this before they either has a warning or a sanction for spam in system/local anyway.

Will only work with the players who actually USE the forums and "special commands" other then /givecash and /ping

Idea: /setescort NAME NUMBER

It sets the NAME player(s) as escorts. The number is a precentage. If no number enterd, it defaults to 10%. You cant go over 50% or under 10%

When you sell your current cargo, that precentage of the profit is removed and sent to the escort.

Example

/setescort Bob 50

Cargo sells for 3 mil. When you sell you and the escort both get 1.5mil.

Actually, I really like Harcourt's idea.
Would streamline things and make sure Escorts get paid, assuming they can check it themselves, with a /checkescort or sommat.

Better yet, have ID based restrictions.

Lawful traders can only be escorted by lawfuls

FLs/Mercs can escort anyone.

house military/police can NOT escort. It's their job allready to keep folks safe.

unlawfuls can escort smugglers, but only if illegal cargos are being carried. If lawful cargo, lawfuls (BHG) can escort them.

OC cannot escort if more than 50 artifacts are in cargo
'sairs cannot escort if more than 50 cardimine are in cargo


And bob, better yet have the console send a PM to the escort with the precentage allowing the player to decline/accept, prehaps restrict it if possible so the escort has to be within 5k of the trader at the time of the /setescort command as well (to make spaming it harder)

Prehaps also have a neural net escort log showing succesful/unsuccesful escort jobs for a certain period of time. That or have the log command depend on the escort, /showlog, and it works like /dice

That is a GENIUS idea. DO IT!

Also, we should investigate, in parallel, ways to automatically deliver payment to an escort, based either on a flat rate or a percentage (I favor percentage, personally).
