of The TAZ's product, and not inhaling or drinking enough of your own.
Phantoms neutral to The Nomads ? That's a new one on me as well. Best lay off the hallucinogens, and get
back to the drawing board please.
Ohhhh youuu!
Hoodlum Ive always come to expect this from you. Thank you for not disappointing me. Ill draw a little puppy just for you.
A cult is its own entity a subset of society not related to the next guy. if you sat next to someone in church who honestly beleaved god was a cookie but didn't tell you I highly doubt it would color your vision of pastry's or baked goods in any way.
Taz is more or less drug free. Such hostility! oh dear.
Phantoms are neutral to the nomads always has been in .85. Developer foul-up? Dont know it is there and the cult sees this. I somehow think the opinion will hold regardless.

Corsairs are clearly your enemies. They don't respect or tolerate nomads in any way. They also steal their technology (artifacts).
Junkers trade in artifacts, as well as liberty rogues and some ind. pirates. The same applies to them.
Incorrect. People treat the artifacts as nomad tech and this is really quite unfortunate as the actual commodity description is more vague. we dont know whos tech it is could be several races.. hell it could be some spent feminine hygiene products for all you know.
As for thier neutrality to the corsairs. they turn the other cheek. think Buddhist on fire not outcast in it for the blingy

Doomsday callers? Don't like that to be honest. I preferred Oracles cult, now that was interesting concept.
For as long as I've been here this always been an ambiguous matter. I'd say someone still owes me a good explanation for nomads present in Phantom's guard system, they're not hostile to phantom NPCs and same holds true the other way. I also suspect player reputation is similar to that of faction settings. Me, well, last time the subject came up on the forums here, and that was quite a while ago (I think it was a convo with Virus, may be a year and a half ago, may be more), I kept open minded perspective to it, but as far as I can tell things haven't moved into any direction at all since then, so I suspect the relation between them still stands empty.
Thank you vary much for your input treewyrm I find your lore and writing and quite frankly the influence on the community to be a positive force... As your opinion reflects... positivity, wonder, all good things.
To help explain further. yes they believe in a doomsday however its no more real to them then 2012 is real to us now. Its a supposed end date, no evidence that is satisfactory point to its happening next week month or decade and even the cult leader tells those beneath him to focus on the present state of the faith.
They wont discuss the apocrypha with outsiders like THE UNIVERSE IS COMING TO AN END JOIN NOW its more invite only to the discussion.
' Wrote:However, your Cult is unlikely to know of the alien-assisted nature of the Phantoms unless either the Phantoms or the Nomads told you. The Phantoms don't exactly go around proclaiming themselves as slaves of the Crathgyan, after all, and "faction of well-equipped psychopaths intent on destroying the Houses" can be applied to a wide range of other groups that didn't have alien backing.
As such, I'd say it's best to treat them with the normal wariness and occasional cautious cooperation unless one of them tells you about their Crathgyan benefactors.
As for the Corsairs... when I'm on my Das Wilde Scorpion drone, I don't say "Corsair". I say "murderer", "desecrator", "trespasser", "graverobber", you get the idea. They are NOT to be considered friends of the Nomads. Kill them all.
Sov thank you. Again. in so far as the artifacts situation. I framed my thoughts above.
I do believe others have swayed my opinions as for how to treat corsairs. Perhaps a defensive posture but that might be unnecessary everyone who deals with the corsairs should be defensive about them.
The cult leader, as mentioned, does claim to receive "channeled" insight from the divine. Wiether its real or not? I find is one hundred percent Inconsequential to anything. Wild and corsairs and nomads will probably kill the cult members at will.
And no that still wont change their dogma they'll probably be seen as burnt offerings to the divine. Its not a campfire its shades of grey between heavens gate and helter skelter.
' Wrote:So really all that needs being done is to take the nommies out of 82, not like we have Phantom NPC's anywhere else.
But that would ruin the bad boy image of the phantoms dood.

It's quite clearly stated in vanilla that the artifacts scattered across Sirius are relics of the Daam-K'Vosh. Players often botch this one, and not all characters realize this (unless they keep up with xeno-archaeology), but the artifacts being uncovered in places such as Sprague are Daam-K'Vosh. This is further reinforced by the Nomad Lore, and it's an important part of Das Wilde's activities (at present, it's most relevant to the Newcastle city).
About their usefulness, yeah, the overwhelming majority of all artifacts encountered are the local-galaxy-cluster-spanning-Dyson-sphere-building-aliens equivalent of candy wrappers. Then you find the one little thing that was actually designed to work when humans/Nomads found it, like "Valhalla 1", or the hypergate key, or the Omega-58 gravity generator, or the Sword in the Stone (which I still need to write the wiki article for)... yeah, they tend to be pretty serious.

Being ready to defend yourself from Corsair attacks is prudent even if you just took food to Crete and are attempting to take artifacts back, as I know from experience... >.> (Though, to be fair, most of that was prior to the formation of the court, and Montezuma assures me that should it happen again he'll mail the offender's genitalia to my office. Or something to that effect.) It is quite unlikely that the Corsairs will either A) believe that you're not going to shoot them in the back or B) care, so don't be surprised or offended if your encounters with the Corsairs end the way they usually do for Outcasts.

Someone else who realizes that your characters can believe things whose veracity is inconsequential! Like how some of the TAZ believe the Daam-K'Vosh have been actively guiding humanity, for instance.
As for the Wild and Nomads interacting with you... they don't just kill everyone, you know. Some people are more useful alive than dead. People like, perhaps, you... though that remains to be seen. I think the best way to go with this is to not try to set it in stone before you interact with the Nomads/Wild, and see how things develop. I suspect, however, that once convinced of your faith, you'll be getting a visit from the Emissary.
Quote:Sov thank you.
No problem, this is a far more interactive discussion than most. I look forward to seeing you ingame.
About the Nomad NPCs in Omicron-82; I'm reasonably confidant I know enough about systems to remove those. I'm sure Treewyrm could do it in a fraction of the time it would take me, but I think I can do it. If the Phantoms don't want them, then there should be no trouble just axing them.
Hrm.. After reading all this.. I've come to this conclusion: You seem like a guy that may be able to pull this off... And i sort of like the idea... It's unique, and i like unique factions on disco. (In fact i'm making one of my own.) Soooo.. i suppose we'd all just have to see how this is in-game. Give it a shot, and see how people react in-game. If you see something like, "// dude wtf?" as a pm, well, ye. XD
