' Wrote:It all depends on the character. I said your RP sucks, because you didn't give any grounds for why your character would refuse to pay at the cost of his life (aka a lunatic or something). You made it clear you didn't care if they blew you up or not because it is a game. That is ignoring role play because you don't like how it turns out for you. You're being hypocritical. It is okay for you to not role play, but it is sooo very wrong for others to not role play.
Well i call it a game and happy to die as soon as the other player don't RP; i don't RP too and make me blow up, that's all. Obvious when i find a good RP pirate i gladly give them the fine, nothing to argue about it.
2-3 nice sentences, i don't call them teatime, and for me should be enough...
Anyway, thank you for all your suggestions, i'll take them into consideration and try to behave as best as i can.:)

backup or to run and this is not right
when 2 enemy face RP but dont use the time that RP give you to get a PvP advantage
This is why i like the off hours more at times. The pirates are more willing to RP, as they know thier is no help around the corner. I have had a 10 minute chat with pirates in off hours. Same with traders i meet in my "less then lawful" chars.
During peak times the pirate wants to grab cash, and run. Does it hurt RP yes, do i blame them? not most times. Unless they are total lolwuts.
Sorry but the only person who gets to decide how that person RP's is the person controlling that char, and if said pirates want to be quick and to the point thats there choice not yours, they shouldn't have to type out a bunch of crap to get to the same point, and it's perfectly reasonable for a pirate to be quick and to the point since there are always lawful pilots patrolling the systems so he would have to be quick with his demands and get to a new spot or get back to his base unless he's dumb and pirates in the same spot every time.
I don't know about all of this. I have had a lawful trader on a corporation ID in a big juicy transport ripe for snac'ing for about two weeks now, played on it quite a lot and I only got pirated three times. One time lawful freelancers came to my rescue before I could even ask for their help, the other time I tricked the pirate and managed to run to safety and the third time I was stopped by a pirate who asked how my morning was and if I'd like to give a contribution to his cause. He even asked me if 2 million was too much before proceding to talk about his breakfast and asking if I had had any.
In that time I have seen countless pirates shot up by lawful gankforces without much word of warning and so on. Being a pirate is much harder than what most traders think, and the financial outcome is close to nothing compared to the time invested in it. Most pirate players are not in it for the money as an actual means of income, but more of a symbolic victory, like capturing a flag in 3D shooters.
It sucks having a bad experience being pirated (I think everyone on the server tried that), and it sucks being forced to pay someone, but I think it is all about mindset - the more you work yourself up over pirates, the more you have negative expectations when you are stopped by pirates. Those negative expectations will show in your initial response to the pirate when he stops you, and then you can expect the outcome to be poor. Expect the outcome of an encounter to be poor in every possible way (for you and the pirate) if your initial response to being stopped is "Kill me, why don't you?"
Just chill and take it as a part of the ride - chances are you will still profit unless you manage to get yourself killed. If you really find piracy unbearable, try mixing up your route if you think pirates might be lurking ahead or change to trading different commodities until you find a route that works for you. The tradelanes through the Omegas and that stretch from the New York jumpgate to Planet Mojave are generally spots to avoid.
Off-topic, but still within the wonderful realm of piracy: There was a sanction thread today about a pirate asking for 5 billion credits as a response to a trader offering 1 credit - in my opinion there should be a "non-pvp abuse" rule for situations like this, and the trader should be sanctioned for his ridiculous offer.
No they do not have to RP long, or be nice, or even RP to have fun. But guess what? Those who do will find they earn more, get more traders that pay, and get the respect of the other players.
I love a good pirate encounter. Notice i said "GOOD" because i get "2 mil or dai" i fight, and run, and 75% of the time get away. Pirate gets repair bills.
Pirating for cash is fine, as alot these days do it for just that, and not for fun. But if traders are not going to enjoy the encounter, then why should they bother to Pay? It all comes down to one thing. "FUN" this is a game after all. It is not real life, money is not real, cargo is not real, dead is not real. We all "play" this "Game" for "fun". I am sorry if this upsets those that think thier idea of fun means others have to bend to thier will, or comply to thier RP. After all it is a game. No matter how many times people yell "in real life you would pay, and not dai" well sorry not real life. It is was people would not be here.
